Hiatus from working out

I work three 12 hour days and religiously get up at 5am to workout on 2 of those days. I didn't do get up for either days this week!!! I slept an extra hour, and it felt sooooo good, but I feel like a slug! On my defense I am 8 weeks pregnant and super tired. This weekend I have a convention in NYC and our flight leaves at 6 am tommorow. We have stuffed planned until after midnight, so no working out tommorow either! We have stuff going on all day sat too. I guess this weeks a wash. Hopefully it wont be too hard to get back into the swing of things next week. Im worried!
 
Don't be worried! Your body likes breaks here and there. You'll be surprised how energized you are with that first workout again:) You'll knock it out of the park! I think we all push ourselves too hard sometimes, enjoy your break.
 
With your schedule and being pregnant, your body really does need rest every so often. I think sometimes we Cathletes can be too rigid and uptight about missing workouts once in a while. I believe our bodies and our minds need these times of rest to rejuvenate. Taking a week off once every 10-13 weeks could be good for us!
 
I find taking days off is good for my body. I "found" Cathe about 8 years ago and worked out 6 days a week (3 cardio, 3 weights) I would freak out if I missed one day, let alone a week for vacation...not anymore. I feel better working out 4-5 days a week and feel more energized when I don't work out for a few days and can get "right back in" after a break. Don't worry about missing days, your body will thank you!
