Hi Sami and Gayle!!

Hi ladies!!
I am just getting back on the computer after a week in Orlando. I saw the question by Sami about "drive for 5 in 2003".
And yes, Gayle is right. I am a huge Jeff Gordon(Dupony Chevy #24) fan.....he's the best race car driver on this planet. The "5" stands for the fact that he owns 4 points titles and is shooting for his 5th. The record is 7. My second favorite driver is Jimmie Johnson.....Lowe's Chevy #48. Jeff owns this car. If anyone is looking for a true role model for their kids to watch in sports Jeff and Jimmie are both top notch guys. Very nice individuals as well as very good drivers.
Incidentally Gayle you might be interested to know that while in Orlando I rode in a stock car at the Richard Petty Driving School down there. Got up to 148 mph. One day I'd like to have more time to actually drive one myself. It was awesome!!!!

Did you catch the Lowes 600? Jimmie was the man two weeks in a row !!

I got into NASCAR last year when FOX started airing the races, and Jeff Gordon quickly became my favorite. I also have a soft spot for Michael Waltrip and Dale Jarrett...and Jimmie. They all just seem like nice guys.

Very cool about the Richard Petty driving school. A friend of mine got to do that back in April and said it was a blast. I'd love to send my husband to it for one of our anniversaries.

Hi Gayle!
Yep, I caught the race and thought it should have been run to completion even if it meant coming back today to do it. Jeff has gotten screwed in a few of these rain shortened races....his cars are usually set up for long runs and if that race last night had gone to completion he would have been top 3 for sure instead of 8th. Same thing happened in the Daytona 500 earlier this year. It's frustrating but like they say "that's racin'!!"

Hi! I hope it is o.k. if I pipe in here. I have met Jeff Gordon several times at the airport near Watkins Glen and he is super! We go to the Watkins race every year. He is one of the few drivers who will stop the car and sign autographs. I am not really big into Nascar, but my husband is ( he rarely misses a race) He is a die hard Matt Kennseth fan!

A couple, who are great friends of mine, are big NASCAR fans. They go to 5 or more races a year. Of course he has NASCAR stuff everywhere and is always talking about Jeff and Dale. He gives me a hard time about Cathe. I can't wait to tell them that there's a Cathe NASCAR fan out there. They'll get a big kick out of that one.
