Hi!

I'm new here and hear a lot about cathe and how great the workouts are.

I have been doing kathy smith workouts and am looking for something new.

I'm looking to also lose about 30 pounds and was wondering what you all did for diet?? Does anyone do weight watchers? if not, what is your diet plan??

thanks!

Larissa!:)

I am pretty new here to the forum myself. But I try to stick with a pretty clean diet of lean meat and vegetables and fruit. I think what helped me to drop the 20 lbs. was to cut out the fast food and sugar laden drinks. i.e. cokes and sugar filled tea..."southener here". We don't cook anything that is not deep fried or rolled in sugar so it was not that easy. Especially when you are married to a man who can eat anything and not show it. So when I have the time I am usually cooking 2 meals, one for him and one for me. For me it is the simpler the better. The closer it looks to the way it grew on the vine or from the ground the better.
Hope this helped

Hi Larissa!

Also a relative newbie here :) I have never really tried a specific diet and completely agree with Rachel, eating as "cleanly" as possible has always given me the best results. My diet is not always perfect but I try to eat mostly lean meat and a lot of vegetables.

Welcome to the forums!

HI Larissa,

Good to have you here! :) If you go to the Check in/CHallenge forums there is a group specifically with weight watchers. They are super friendly there and I believe you will meet lots of people who have the same interests. I have 10 pounds I need to lose before I want to get pregnant. Mostly eat clean and exercise. You will find lots of info and friends here. Chat with you soon.:7

Hi Larissa,

Welcome to the Cathe Forums! I lost 35 pounds mainly by eating lean protein, veggies and complex carbs. I didn't follow any particular diet. I just looked at what I was eating and cut out the junk (which was mostly what I was eating!). I have been able to maintain the weight loss for over 8 years.

Best of Luck to you.

Welcome Larissa:)

Im doing Weight Watchers(at the moment;-)) and have lost 30 or so pds with them(and working out 5-6days a week)! Your welcome to come over to the Weight Watcher check inns,we'd love to have ya!

Before WW'ers I counted calories and was also successful with that!

Take care!

Hi Larissa!

I don't post often but I wanted to welcome you to the board. I love Cathe's workouts and wish I would have found them when I was trying to lose weight.

I lost 60 lbs counting calories (I used the desktop software from Calorie King.com). I looked into WW and converting everything to points was harder for me than simply tracking calories. I agree with the advice you've gotten so far. I think the biggest thing for me with the weight loss and maintenance (January will be 2 years for me!) is cutting out sugary, calorie laden drinks, almost all the eating out (no fast food...restaurants only once every other month or so!!) and sticking to lean meats, veggies, fruit, no fat/low fat dairy and complex carbs and NO FRIED FOODS. I'm from the south so it can be hard, but it can be done! Good luck to you and again, welcome!

Hi, Larissa!
Welcome to the forums.

I eat a primarily whole-foods vegan diet ('diet' as in 'lifestyle' not as in 'special deprivation way of eating designed to lose weight').

Larissa,

Welcome aboard. I use Feed the Muscle Burn the Fat. Also a lifestyle change not deprivation. I eat 5 small meals per day.
