Hi Yen,

I had sent to me a catalogue from the sports equipment company, Pro-Active, as I noticed on a Search, you had bought your THE STEP from them, and received 2 Reebok step videos free !!!!!!!! Well they are still running the same offer, so I think I will be ordering my step from them, but what I was wondering is, is it the same size as the one Cathe uses ? Or are all THE STEP'S a universal size ?

Many Thanks

Anna

Hi Anna

Not Yen but no Reebok step is smaller then The Step and only has two grey risers which allow it maximum height of 10". Its the one I use as The Step is too large for my workout area.

Also I didn't order from Proactive I think because I already had the vids and didn't want to get extra copies.

Another website I found for weights in the UK is bodypower.co.uk they have really wonderful equipment. I'm wondering can you hold out for Jan to see if you can pick up something in the sales? It might be too far ahead.

Hi Babs,

Thanks, I shall check out Bodypower later today - And brilliant idea, I will wait until January for the sales- I never thought of that.
Did you check out that Vegan recipe site ? It is brilliant !!!!!!!!!!

Anna

Yes I did its fantastic there is a mushroom soup recipe I want to try on Friday so I will have to print that off.

Hi Anna,

The Step is the same as what Cathe uses. The Step Company produces two step sizes and they also produce the tall box (used in PS Series) and another type of step (taller and longer) that Cathe used in PH. I bought mine from Pro-Active and sometimes they will send you a sale catalogue that is a real bargain.

I also bought my barbell and dumbell sets from Argos, it was the cheapest and the best I could find. It was also perfect for me because I am small the the weight plates are smaller so I don't look intimidating lifting them. I bought the barbell set for £50 and a dumbell set for £25. These weight set have lots of weight plates that you could use as dumbells, all you need is to buy extra dumbell handles (I bought mine from Index for £8.95 and an extra barbell bar for £11.95). So you see how you can have a good set of weights for less than a £100.

Hello Anna,

The supermarkets also have wonderful fresh soups too. If you can't be bothered to make it yourself. I usually just buy supermarket soups when I am tired in the evening or don't feel like a heavy meal.

Hi Yen,

Thanks for that, I phoned Pro-Active yesterday, to ask about extra risers for the step, and they sell them at £15 a pair. The only other place I had seen the extra risers was at Collage in America. So it is good to know that you can buy them here in the UK. I though I might invest in extra risers for when I need a bench, for weights, etc.

In fact, what do you use for a raised platform for Cathe's strength videos ?

Anna

Hello Anna,

I bought the extra risers at the same time as I bought the step. They already come with 2 risers which takes the platform to 8". I also bought 2 pairs of risers because I noticed that in video Cathe goes up to that height when she does strength training.

I have to say the step is just perfect for me. It's works as a step bench and weight bench and it can be de-assembled and put away. It's definitely worth the investment. I use it all the time and I live in a one bedroom flat so I work out in the living room. I keep the step in the cloak room, otherwise it would just clutter up my living room.

I would say that you should be looking to invest about £200 in equipment. I don't reccommend that you buy dumbell sets because they are too expensive, better to buy the adjustable dumbells in Argos because you can just add weights to them as you get stronger, that's how it works for me.

Trust me, go to Argos.

Yen
