Hey True Blood fans!

Charlaine Harris will publish the Sookie short stories in one book, A Touch of Dead, coming in October. So, I guess there's no need to buy all books that feature the short stories; unless, of course you want to read the rest.

From what I've read, only one of the short stories is a book tie-in (and Harris regretted it...) so you can read all short stories by themselves, or not at all.

Ready 4 2nite's episode???

Jessica visits her parents!... I think....

(oh, ok.. I was just looking for an excuse to bump it up!)

Hi all! I have a tiny favor to ask. I've avoided this thread until I get my cable situation fixed and get to see the premier episode. Well, it's still not working. The cable guy is coming out tomorrow to fix it, so I should be able to watch a repeat of episode 2. However, much to my chagrin, there are no repeats scheduled for episode 1 anytime in the near future. So, pretty please, could someone totally recap episode 1 for me so I can make sense of #2? Go ahead, spoil it for me...please! :)

Amy

2nd episode

OK... GROSS!!! :eek::eek::eek:

I mean when Lafayette tries to escape... in any case... Lafayette a vampire?...

Loved the scene at the clothing store... the lady thought Bill and Eric were a couple!!!

I think this season builds up to be more of a comedy/horror mix... Cool!

And Maryann wants to get Sookie out of the way somehow, because asking Tara to move in with her jeopardizes Maryann's plans.

Andy Bellefleur is really dancing like an "epileptic on meth"!!!!

Chris.

I guess Lafayette thinks that a vampire is better than not existing at all? I he retains his personality, he'll be a cool vamp.:) Do you think they'll go that route? This will be a long week waiting!

Maryann is just plain annoying.

Chris, I agree - the clothing store WAS funny. I didn't expect to laugh in this series, but there are some funnies. :)

Guesses on what Bill will do to Jessica's folks?

yeah, maryann is starting to get on my nerves. i thought the dancing scene was funny though.

at 1st i rolled my eyes at lafayette becoming a vampire but honestly, i love his character so id rather that happen instead of killing him off. i think he's too much of an important character in the tv series to have him die but then again, they could totally throw that twist in. if he does die, i dont think it would be by eric's/pam's hands.

btw, how hot did eric look last night?!

i think bill will just glamour jessica's parents. he wont do any harm to them. such a softie, lol ;)

im trying to remember what happened in book 2 when they went to dallas...in the show, is jason in dallas with the fellowship or are they somewhere else?

amy, im not sure what hulu is all about but i think you can watch tv shows on there...not sure if that applies to cable channels like HBO or whether you have to pay for it or not. also, im sure if you search the web someone will have the episodes up online (perhaps even youtube?).

Thanks Chris for the link to the recap. Now I feel well-equipped for episode 2, which I'm TIVOing tonight!

I love how unpredictable the series is. Much better not knowing everything that's going to happen from reading the books.

Amy

I don;t know.. I kinda like Maryanne... she's wicked!!!!

Lafayette will be a vampire fighting for gay AND vampire rights! How cool IS that???:D:D:D He definitely is on character who should stay on the show (remember the "gay burger" scene last season?).

I also think that ill will erase Jessica's family's memory and plant some other... At least that's what vampires usually do in the Sookie books.

In book 2 only Bill and Sookie go to Dallas and at some point Eric appears but under another name - the Dallas vampires don't know who Eric is - to keep an eye on Sookie and Bill (AND hit on Sookie towards the end of the book where he takes a bullet to save her life).

It's a good thing we read the books, cause now we are more surprised watching the series than the people who haven't read the books... ;)

Mmmmmm... I like Eric and am on team Eric.

And Eric manipulates her so well. :D

I absolutely enjoyed last night's epi!!!! "Is there blood in my hair?" Eric & Pam crack me up - but it was a little gross.

Spoiler Alert
I can't wait for next week's epi when Eric assists in Sookie's rescue.

OK I've avoided this thread b/c I don't read the books but am watching the show..........last night's was pretty good. I'm not a huge fan of Sookie, anyone that perky & wonderful is not my cuppa tea. Love Maryanne, troublemakers are what makes these shows interesting. ;) Tara, of course, is one of my favorite TV series characters ever. She is hilarious, & girl's got some guns!

Christo, that gay burger scene was freakin awesome! I do adore Lafayette. Yeah, Lafayette will do anything to survive. Remember, he's the one who suggested they turn him.......

Team Eric girl here too. :)

did anyone else notice how frighteningly fake the grandmother looked in that picture sookie had with them and tara?!?!

She is hilarious, & girl's got some guns!

Delts & Quads, too!!! Amazing body and a very beautiful face! I was glad they made Tara an African-American instead of just some brunette... The actress playing her mother is amazing, don't you think? Playing the abusive, ex-alcoholic, "just found Jesus" mother... Her whole face (eyes, lips, teeth... everything, is acting !!!).
I loved the scene between her and Maryanne...

Chris.

EDIT
I was just reading at tv.com that someone from Bill's past will appear in episode 6. Could it be Lorena (Bill's maker)? She only appears in Book 3 (Club Dead)... hmmm, interesting....

Yes, must be because if you look at the complete cast list for this season on hbo's website, they have an actress profile for Lorena.

MINOR SPOILER INCLUDED!!!

You're right! She made a brief appearance in season 1 when she turned Bill...

SPOILER!!!

Looking forward to see her fight Sookie!!!!

Chris.

I'm so happy to report that I've now seen both episodes of season 2 and all I can say is wow! What an amazing show. #2 was awesome...I'm especially digging the Lafayette, Jessica, and Tara/Eggs/Maryanne storylines because I have no idea what they'll do with them. Very fun stuff. Oh and the Jason joining the Fellowship stuff is interesting and funny. It's amusing watching Jason "think" about his conflicted feelings.

I just have to say that Anna Paquin is such an amazing Sookie. Absolutely perfect, and everyone else is so well-cast too.

Amy

Oh, and I wanted to add that we already met Lorena in Season 1 when Bill was telling Sookie about how he was turned--we saw the actress in the flashbacks. She was very creepy too!
