Here ya go -- My sons' musical debut :-)

TarHeelMom

Cathlete
Hey folks,

I only have a couple of minutes to be here coming out of lurkdom, ;-) but I wanted to pass along to you a link that my son Alex (a/k/a "piro" or "P Money") sent me -- this is the online site where he has posted his debut masterpiece rap tune "Key Lime Pie" (originally called "Key Lime Slice"), which he wrote and recorded this summer with his friend Thomas (a/k/a "Big Moose") and my younger Evan (a/k/a "Eazy E" or "Evhead").

The song is about Publix grocery stores' key lime pie, which, according to my sons, is one of the wonders of the world. Teenage men -- go figure. :)

In the song the first verse is rapped by Big Moose, and then you hear P Money come in on the chorus and second verse. Evhead chimes in to finish it up.

Hope y'all enjoy -- I think it's pretty funny and it would thrill the guys to pieces to see that people had been listening to it, commenting and maybe even downloading it.

As they would say, aw-ight peace out! ;-)

Hey Cathe...! That was very cute and creative! Wonder if they have ever had chocolate Key Lime pie slice on a stick? Might just inspire another rap..deb ;)

LOVE IT! How wonderfully creative!! Your son and his friend have talent!

I'm sending it to my daughter who is a freshman is HS this year. She'll get a kick out of it, and who knows, maybe she'll share it with her friends...

Do they like Key Lime Pie?:+

Just kidding, really nice, creative...is it professionally recorded, just wondering...

I have a younger step brother who also is into recording his crew's stuff...

Carrie

Thanks Carrie - glad ya like it! :)

The crew would be pleased to think they sound professionally recorded, for sure. They recorded it themselves using a Mac program called Garage Band, Alex's PowerBook and a MacMike. I believe the soundtrack was beats that they downloaded for free (legally) somewhere off the net, and then they custom-mixed them with Garage Band.

The lyrics are, uh, original and straight from the heart. ;-)
