help - what are the best non-step Cathe tapes

I'm not a big fan of stepping (lack the coordination :), but am very intersted in buying some of Cathe's cardio and weight training videos. Can anyone give me some recommendations as to what tapes are the best?

Thanks so much!
Shannon

Cardio:
1. Cardio Kicks
2. The first section of MIC (Max. Intensity Cardio).
3. CTX Kickbox (includes awesome abs segment).

Weights:
Any and all of Cathe's weight tapes. MIS has a step warm-up but it can easily be done on the floor.

What if someone gave you a step for ten bucks? No, I don't have one for sale, just trying to see how flexible you might get!

Please reconsider your attitude toward step and your ability. Others are equally uncoordinated (thinking of myself here) but Cathe makes allowances for us. It is really simple, one "step" at a time, and she repeats new steps at least 4 times (on each side!) so you get a workout just learning them! I say get a tape that has *some* step in it, and do the step segment on the floor. You still get a great workout and it's a great way to start with minimal investment. For example, MIS.

Please don't give up on step because it's a world of workout riches! I only started at age 41 because until then I had the same attitude you did. I was kind of forced into it by a mistake-boy am I ever glad now.

Step is my favorite cardio activity...
... but for nonstepping I give Cardio Kicks a big thumbs up!
Also Power hour and MIS are great as is the hi low portion of MIC.

Oh, Shannon, don't give up on stepping. I'm the clumsiest oaf in the world. I'm slow and clumsy. I can't tell you how many times I've been on here moaning and complaining about it--hoping someone would encourage me, I guess, maybe share a success story that made me think I could do it, too. I admit, I still can't do Cathe's step videos, but I've picked up some beginner videos (Kathy Smith, Gin Miller, Charlene Prickett) and I can actually keep up with them after three or four times. I'm on my way! I know you could be, too. But ALL of Cathe's strength videos are fabulous. You can't make a wrong choice.

I really appreciate everyone's input and encouragement! I have been able to win a few of Cathe's videos on ebay and decided to give the stepping thing another try! I get frustrated so easily with it...sometimes even with the Firm's easy stepping segments I get mixed up:)
I'll let you know how it goes!

Thanks again!

Connie and others:

I'm not the original poster, but I am so glad to read your posts!! I gave in and finally ordered a step a few weeks ago. It was on back order and is expected to arrive this Wednesday. I'm pretty excited about it, but reading your posts really puts me in the right frame of mind!! :-jumpy

I've got Keli Roberts and Kathy Smith lined up, but it probably won't be long until I'm using some Cathe step tapes as well.

I like this thread too! I was just asking on another forum what Cathe Step tape is the EASIEST to learn.. I got my full size step (includes a Cathe All Step), but haven't tried it. I think in a way I'm afraid. I watched a little of it.

I'm afraid to try the other new tapes I got of her too. It's a wierd thing I think.. I got PH and MIS, and haven't tried them because I am just getting backing to exercising, (normally use Firm tapes), and I am so happy to have finally decided to try Cathe, but I think I'm afraid.

Is that so wierd? I know I'll just do what I can do, but it scares me. I wish I were in better shape before I start the tapes, and from the sounds of it I picked very tough tapes, but I wanted strength, and I'm sure thats what I got..

I am like you, I don't get step well either and I get really mad when I'm doing a video and can't follow it/it becomes very frustrating. I have Firms, but not any newer ones with alot of step, because I hate it!

Sorry i got off topic. Looks like we're in the same boat.. Let's just get some tapes & go for it!! Cathe would be proud ;-)
I'm going to go to look at shots from Cardio Kicks, might be interested in that after reading replies here.

Hey Shannon!

I like you am NOT crazy about step.. this is what worked with me!

1. Cardiokicks - LOTS of fun
2. S&H GREAT results for lifting
3. Try CTX but just start with the non step ones
Lean legs is great
Kick box (one of my faves)
10-10-10 GREAT variety (high/low - kick box and some step but not total step)

After that try the other CTX (power circuit - again like 10-10-10 - step but NOT totally)
Step circuit is great
All step you probably wont like but this eases you into step!

4. Circuit max - great variety

ENJOY
