I just don't know which would be better! For those of you who have the STS tower. Do you like it? Are you glad you got it? Or should I go with one of the many bench and press/squat racks I see. I don't want to spend over $200.
Tower! I bought mine thru amazon and it was way cheaper and no shipping to Hawaii I'm so glad I purchased it. I used it all the time. It makes barbell easier to load and to pick up, rather than having in floor.
I think that tower is a versatile piece besides using it for a barbell. That said, I have a bench and leverage rack with plate weight and I think it will depend on how much you intend on lifting. The tower is rated up to 500 pounds, but its said its best to keep the weight limited to 100 pounds. If you are staying under that amount consistently, not to mention the other uses it is designed for, I would go for it.
Yah Tracy! You're going to love it. We have both the Tower (which I use) and a bench with a rack (hubby uses) and he is always having a hard time adjusting/lining it up just right ESP on incline. He mentioned last week that he is thinking if getting another Cathe Tower!!! So, I think you will be very happy. And, YES, of course you NEED the Squat Rack optional DVDs! (Came back to say that I think the Tower is 30% off right now for the month of June!)
There's a squat rack option? I don't have that, just the Tower and haven't found a need for anything additional to use it as a squat rack. I just raise the level of the bar up to as high as it will go and load up the bar. Works great.

STS Meso 3 has an optional Squat Rack Legs routine set of 4 dvds....oh yes....may I say devine...and I never use that word . If you have the new Lower Body Blast dvd, there is a premix in there called Leg Conditioning Drills, I do Premix # 3 which makes the workout 76 minutes and it is tacked onto the end of it. It uses the Tower as a barre to hold onto while you do your leg drills, essentially a barre work, which was awesome. The music is really really good too, at least in my opinion (gotta put that in there). I am really looking forward to Cathe's new barre workout on this upcoming set.
