Help me wish my oldest son a very Happy Birthday.......

He is 14 today and is facing his teen years in a brace for his scoliosis. We found out yesterday that is curve has gone from 25 degrees on the bottom to 38 degrees and his top curve has gone from 19 to 25 degrees. So he will be casted for a brace as soon as possible.

Pray that the brace works to halt the curvature and that surgery will not be needed in the future. They do surgery once they hit 50 degrees. In a year he has gone from 13 degrees both curves to what I said in the first paragraph. The doctor was amazed and shocked at how fast the curve is progressing.

side note: My neice had the surgery at age 15 or 16 and did wonderful, she eventually continued cheerleading and is now a mom of 4! It hasn't effected her enjoyment of life.
