I have been reading quite a bit on the forums about eating clean and how I should read Tosca's book and I will probably order it but money's tight right now for me so I thought I could post the question out here and get some advice on what it entails and how to do it. I am 36 yrs old weigh 152 lbs and am 5' 2" tall. My first question is how many calories should I intake daily especially now that I have incorporated weight training into my schedule with GYM STYLE (all three) also JARI L and 2 or three cardio's throughout the week. Eating too much is during the day is my biggest down fall and is what is hurting me in that I am not seeing the results I want with exercising. Yes, I have lost weight but I am stuck at 152 and want to get down to 125 or 130 by June (summer). I know that I have to change my diet but I need some guidelines to help me know how to go about it (and tips on motivation). I appreciate your advice and thank you in advance!;-)

When I was trying to figure this out I found a calculator at GLAMOUR.com. I wish I had the information as to how to get directly to the calorie calculator (It was either in the November, December or January issues...) but if you go to their website you should be able to find it, somehow. It will have you put in your height, weight, age, current level of fitness and, voila, it will give you the number you should shoot for.

Okay I found it:
- Go to GLAMOUR.com,
- Click on "Health" (along the top),
- Click on "How many calories you REALLY need" (located under "Fitness Tools" along the right side).

First, it will have you figure out your Body Mass Index (takes you through it), then you key in your info (gender, height, weight, level of physical activity) and it calculates your daily calorie count for you.

Also, the site has calculators for targeting your exercise heart rate, figuring how many calories you burn daily and a calculator to figure out just how healthy you really are. I just like that I don't have to remember what I have to multiply and by how much...

There are a couple of free websites out there that will help you track your diet, splitting it down between fats, carbs and proteins, calculating your calories and can track your exercising also.

On fitday.com you can enter your stats and it will estimate the calories you burn during normal daily activities, then you enter anything additional to see what your calorie burn is estimated at. It will show that along with the calories you have eaten. You can journal and track your activities too. I think this site is mainly for tracking on your own.

On sparkspeople.com you can do the tracking (though I am not quite as familiar with that sight for tracking) and it has loads of articles along with recipes, etc. You could spend days just checking out their website. If I am correct, you can get some sort of nutrition plan put together to help you also. Not sure if that is free or not.

You may find some good info to begin a program at one of these. They seem to be the main two that members of this website recommend.

Good luck on your journey and remember there is always support here for you. :7

You may want to check your local library for Tosca's book. If they don't have it some libraries can order from others.

That was going to be my suggestion too. That's what I did, my library didn't have it but they bought it after I asked about it! ;-) (gotta love small towns!)

Thanks...I called my library this morning and they are going to get it from another library. I can't wait. I also went to the Glamour website and got some figures there. THANKS GUYS:+

Yeah! I'm so excited! My hubby bought me the Tosca Reno eating clean book today at barnes & nobles!!!! Pass me that bar of soap, I'm eating clean tonight:+ (whoo hoo!)
