Help Choosing Tough VHS Workouts

Cathlete
I have just recently discovered Cathe through Fit TV. I'm SO excited to have found workouts that are actually tough. I had given up after purchasing others where I never broke a sweat. I was a runner for 20 years but messed up my hip when I did a marathon - well, the 20 years of running probably helped. As a result, I switched to cycling a few years ago and love it, but look for something else to do in the winter (not only b/c of weather, but I need a break from the bike). Until now my aerobic exercise in winter is in the basement with my bike on a trainer and the ocassional Step Reebok video that I'm SO sick of doing. I also lift weights and have done the Firm off and on for years but mostly for weights I LOVE my Bowflex.

My question is this...I would like to get some of Cathe's videos and figured I could get off to a good start with the VHS sale. I purchased Rythmic Step and Power Max (they arrive Tuesday - hooray!!!). I'd like to get two more step only videos and two weight workouts. What would be the toughest aerobically and weight-wise for me to purchase? I know I will be purchasing some DVD's in the not to distant future, but I thought I should definitely take advantage of this sale.

Thanks for any help you Cathe experts can give me! Susan

hi welcome to the boards

i say any step is tough but for higher impact i like the imax 1 and 2, and also you should try to get her kick punch crunch and cardio kicks workouts for a break from stepping. for weights my favorite workouts are maximum intensity strength, power hour and muscle endurance. for a real hard and long workout try body max with cardio and weights. one of my other favorites.

i would try to buy them all if you could LOL. but for a select few these are my favorite.

I agree with Kassia, and Imax 3 is another off the charts intense, high impact step workout. Personally, I find step more intense than kickboxing.

Welcome Susan...from another runner! I am not sure which VHS tapes are on sale...but I agree with the other posters as Intervalmax and Imax2 are great step workouts and tough. I lift mainly free weights and have as long as I've run, about 27 years. One of my fave weight workouts is the Pyramids. There is an upper body one and a lower body one. Also her earlier Power Hour, MIS and Bodymax (which does have a step workout and weight workout) are quite fun. Good luck and let us know how you like them...:)...Carole
