Hi Ladies,

How is everyone doing? I am doing okay. I am really excited about my husband coming home from Iraq this weekend.

My month has not been the greatest though. My grandma passed away on Sept 10. She would have been 86 next month. She had an aneurism and was gone within a few hours. They got it clamped off, but she had lost to much blood.
My dad's cancer is back in his throat for the third time.. He had to have a trach put in two weeks ago. He can breathe much better, but it is a matter of time. They are going to just try and make him comfortable.. ;( It brings tears to my eyes to even type about all this. It was his mother that died. He was to sick to travel the 350 miles to go to her funeral, so me and my sister had to stand in for my parents since he was the only child...

All this to handle with my hubby being gone has been ruff, but I am hanging in there and trying to stay positive.

I have kept up well with my running!! I have been getting in 30 to 40 miles a week. It is my stress release. I need to get more weight training back in. Especially for the legs. I have had no weight gain or inch gain, so I am just trying to maintain during this part of my life.. I have been traveling a lot this month. From Utah to In and IL.

Well, I just wanted to drop in and say Hello!! I miss checking in with everyone..

Have a great day ladies..

Beverly

Hi Beverly,

You've had a really rough month, I'm so sorry. My grandfather died from an aneurism...he was already ill at the time, but went fast when it happened. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

My stepfather had throat cancer so I know what you're going through there...very difficult. I'm putting you & your Dad in my prayer group.

SO glad your DH is coming home...I'm sure it will help you tremendously to have him safe by your side!

Take care, & hang in there...you sound like a very strong lady...I'm glad you're running, I know how much that helps.

Ruth:)

You have had a hard month. My prayers are with you.We are going to be here to support you when you need it.

Good morning,

Beverly, my hat's off to you. It sounds like you are managing everything beautifully. I am sorry to hear about your Gram and your Dad, but am very thankful that your husband is coming home. It is so difficult to hold down the fort while your spouse is gone, and that is without all of the other trauma going on. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I think it is fantastic that you have been able to keep up with your running. You are an inspiration.

All the best.

Hi Beverly,

So nice to see you back on the forums. I am so sorry to hear about your Grandmother and Father. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. It will be so nice for you when your husband returns.

Glad to hear you were able to keep up your running, for sanity's sake if nothing else.

Take Care,

Diana

Beverly,

It's so good to hear from you. Sorry to hear about the events in your family. I know it's tough:-( .

Happy to hear of your husband's homecoming.

Hang in there:)

Hey Beverly,

I've been looking for your posts lately and wandering where you were.
I am so very deeply sorry for all the events you've had to go through lately. You and your family are in my prayers. Just remember that talking to friends about your problems and concerns helps to prevent you from going crazy! You must take care of yourself first and foremost so that you can help your family. As women, we sometimes neglect our needs and put them last for our family, which is not healthy for us, so please take that precious time to keep running and fit in the wt. lifting where you can. Like you said, it helps the stress. I had my best friend by my side while my husband was gone for 6 month floats and the Gulf War while he was in the Marine Corps. If she hadn't been there for me, I'd have gone crazy for sure!!! So don't hesitate to talk to your friends and family there by you or here on this forum, we're there for you!

I just want to say thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I have been trying to stay strong and not completely break down in front of my kids..

I am taking the afternoon off from work to spend some time alone. I am feeling very emotional.
