Hello. It's my first day!

Muffin Top

Cathlete
I would like to start off by saying that my first impression of Cathe's workouts when I watched them on FitTV was that they would be impossible for me. Not that I'm in bad shape...I just didn't think I could ever catch on to her choreography and was certain I'd end up on my butt.:)

After I accidentally ordered All Step instead of the Kathy Kaehler workout I meant to get, I decided to try it. It was tough! Really tough. But, it had me concentrating so hard trying to do everything, it was over before I could groan about it! It's taken me six tries to get fairly good at it, but I decided to start out as Cathe recommends. I just received Basic Step and Low Impact step in the mail today and am itching to get home and take a look. I have also done the Core workout that I taped from FitTV

I'm so happy to have changed my mind about Cathe. Completing one of her workouts always makes me feel like I've really accomplished something.

Anyway...that's the story of my conversion to Cathe. I hope it wasn't too boring! I look forward to getting to know you all!:7

Welcome! We are looking forward to getting to know you. You will find some great advice on these forums. Once you master Basic Step and Low Impact step, you will want to eventually buy the rest of Cathe's dvds!

Welcome to the world of addicts! Addicted to Cathe, that is! So glad you ordered her workouts by mistake, your mind body and soul with thank you for it! She is a challenge, that is for sure! However, if you are not challenged...you're wasting your time!!

Have fun, keep at it, stop by to talk often! We are constantly here just chirping away...about everything!

WELCOME WELCOME!!

Thanks for the welcomes! And I do intend to make the Timesavers DVD my next purchase.
I do have one question about strength training. I am having trouble trying to figure out how many times I need to work each muscle group in a week to build muscle and how often to maintain. I try to shoot for each group--upper, abs, lower two times a week, but sometimes I can only squeeze it in once a week. What do you think?

If you go to the Rotations section of this forum, you will find some rotations Cathe made that will give you an idea of how many times a week to work each body part. Also, different things work for different people, so you will just have to see what works best for you.

Hi Muffin Top! If you look in the "Video and DVD Rotations" forum, you will see where Cathe has posted an Official Beginners Rotation. You might want to start there. If you think you can take on a heavier work out, look in the same forum at the "Index for Cathe Rotations - 2". I hope this helps.

Welcome aboard! If ordering Cathe was a mistake what a great mistake you made. I also use to watch her on fittv and think that I had to be superwoman to do those workouts. One day I bit the bullet and went to her website and ordered my first dvd and the rest was history. 1 yr and 3months later I have 75% of her library and am in the best shape I have ever been! I am still a work in progress but with Cathe I know I will get to my goals.

Good for you for trying it & keeping at it until you got it. Welcome to Cathe. Always remember, she know you're tired but jump higher! She knows it's burning, but it's a friendly burn.;-) Have fun.

HIYA Muffin! how cute that name is!!!!

I don't believe that was a mistake.(other forces are at work here)lol. You got Cathe's workout for some reason and I believe you will see amazing changes in yourself!
Welcome to Catheland! It's a great place to be!
