Hi,

I'm looking for heartrate monitor recomendations for fathers day gift. My husband is a runner, swimmer, and lift weights and also looking to loose weight. What I'm looking for in a heart rate monitor is calorie burn, milage, specially something that lets him now when he not working hard enough. He complains about not being able to loose weight and sometimes I think it's because he doesn't like to push himself every once in a while. He loves running at a medium steady pace and he has been doing ths for years and years. Thanks!!!!

I've never had problems with either of the Polar monitors that I have had. You can go to their website and do searches to find a monitor that will meet your criteria.

I've been looking at the polar ft60. It has a program that will tell you how much to exercise in a week and at what levels to either lose weight, or increase your fitness. You can then buy the foot pod for running.

I have been very happy with my Polar FT40, and one of my buddies (who is a triathlete) has an FT40 and loves it as well. Besides the training features, I especially enjoy the comfort of the fabric chest strap, which is one of the reasons I went for a more expensive model.
