For those of you that use a HRM, do you find that you burn more calories when weight lifting as apposed to cardio work outs? And if so, can anyone tell me why this is?

I burned 98 calories during LM, and 153 during ME. I'm not sure how this can be.

Whoa - you mean 98 calories doing Low Max??? No way - not even if you slept through it! I would check the connectors and all. Something is not right. Seems too low for ME too. I guess that could depend on how light the weights were but I dont' think you would be using 2 lb weights for the whole thing so that one sounds wrong too. Is it new?

I've had it for a little over six months now. Everytime I've done a cardio work out, my calories burned is always in the low 90's and I always seem to burn more when I'm weight lifting.

Hmmm...that just doesn't sound right. Usually when you do cardio workouts you are in the high hundereds depending on you individually. It's based on your current weight, age, height, and heartrate for the duration that you are working. I know that you do burn less calories while lifting than you do during cardio because your heartrate fluctuates during your weight training...but the calorie burn comes later throughout the day after weights. Cardio, your calories are all burned during your workout so they should be much higher.

Yeah I second that notion. That just doesn't sound right. Check what you set your body weight to be. Make sure you didn't leave it at 20 # but make it scroll all the way to 120 or what ever your body weight is. Thats so weird, 90. Sheesh. I burn that in about 10 minutes. Or less. I usually see 700 calories burned in a cardio wo or even more.

This is absolutely not right! Once you verify your settings are correct then I'd take it back to where you got it. There are just some that arent made correctly off the assembly line. It could also be a bad battery but if its new I'd let them (who sold it) figure it out-

My 60 minute calorie burns (I'm 5'5/125#s/46yrs/female)
Cardio- depending on workout: 400-600
Weights- depending on workout: 280-375
