Good Morning All Healthy Eaters!!! (lets keep our fingers crossed):)
I hope I am not stepping on any toes by starting the thread.I am always on the computer nice and early so this will be my checkin for the day.
Well, my eating isn't THAAAAAAT bad but it diffently needs a tune up.I am going to try and eat 6 small meals through out the day,to keep my blood sugar levels normal. And hopefully be able to fight off the sweet tooth.Greasy food isn't my problem, neither are chips but at the end of every meal I feel like I need to have dessert. Then I might need to have some dessert between lunch and dinner...you get the hint;)
I have been eyeing Pilates dvds lately and been wanting to buy one.I was also thinking about ordering the Winsor Pilates dvds to.So, I think I will save that for my treat if I do good with my eating.
Anyway,I have to go and do some stuff, I hope everyone as a good first day and I will check back later...
Lori :)

Good morning Lori.....I am lucky as sweets were never my problem. Always has been salty bad carbs (chips etc) so far as I have stopped eating them the cravings have gone...:)...I can only speak for myself and see if eating some of your favorite fruit when you get the sweet craving will help. I eat alot of it myself. I like smmothies too with 2 cups of frozen fruit, 1 T flaxseed, 6 oz soymilk and a scoop of vanilla protein powder.....very yummy....:)..yesterday I ate like 2 balance bars (which I am trying to cut out). I think the 10 mile run made me a bit more hungry than normal...:)...Carole

I agree with Carole about the sweet fruit thing. Last night I had a craving for sweets and put a little pineapple into a bowl wwith some nonfat (sweetened with splenda) yogurt over it and a bit of granola type cereal (just a bit) and it was delish!! Kind of like having a dessert. Another mind game you have to play with yourself ;-) is to tell yourself it really IS a dessert--not a 'fake' one. Even if it's just fruit alone. You won't feel deprived that way.

I am still doing the 6 small meals a day-- very clean, even this weekend. :D

Thanks for the reminder about flaxseed! I forget to get this into my diet sometimes. I used to alternate it with wheat germ.

Good morning everybody!

Ugh, I just have to get back on track with my healthy eating habits. I lost 110 lbs. in 15 months and have kept it off for six. Weight maintenance is my main goal, and exercising with Cathe 6x/week has really helped! My total calories per day isn't very high, but all I've been eating lately is junk--chips here, cookies there...So even though it hasn't affected the numbers on the scale (yet), my body doesn't feel as energized as it does when I eat nutritiously.

I'm trying to get back to adding more fruits and veggies (I've been a lacto-ovo vegetarian for 23 years--and was once a very overweight one!) and lowering my sugar intake. I went grocery shopping yesterday and bought no icky stuff!:(

Much luck and good wishes to everyone!:)

Hi Lori! I think I'll join into this thread great idea! I usually always plan my 5 meals a day ahead of time. So this is what I packed up today for work:

Meal 1: high protein/high fiber cereal w/blueberries + iced coffee
Meal 2: chicken w/1/4 of a sweet potato
Meal 3: turkey meatballs/red potatoes/broccoli + strawberries
Meal 4: mixed green salad w/tuna fish
Meal 5: small round steak/green beans

That's it for today! I'm doing P90X so tonight its Shoulders & Arms. I just LOVE this one! Have a good day everyone! Kathy:D

Thanks for all of the tips with the desserts.I think I may cut up some fruit and dip it in yogurt for my dessert tonight.
Today as went really well so far.I haven't stopped all day and I am going for a run in about 30 min.
I will check back later,
Lori:)

Hi all,

Better late than never! Today was a strange day. It's TTOM, so my stomach is a mess. I did eat healthy but probably didn't eat enough because I felt nauseous. We'll see if I'm extra hungry tomorrow!

I so need to get to the supermarket. I'm out of all my favorite healthy snacks, and that may set me up for trouble.

I really looked forward to checking in today!

Gina

hello girls,

Well my start to healthier eating hasn't exactly gone to plan. First of all I had viral gastro, then I have had acute bacterial tonsillitis for the last five days. I eventually went to the ER on Sunday morning and have been living on antibiotics and icecream ever since.

I can vouch for the sustaining powers of icecream - my healthy habit was that I served it up in a bowl, rather than ate it out of the container.... :) :+

BTW - I am so excited about Cathe's new workouts aren't you?

Cheers,
Liz

PS - Kim great job on the weight loss!
