Healthy Eating 11/15/04

OK, I really need to get back on track today. This weekend was horrible with ice cream, cherry pie, candy, etc. I think I got it out of my system so here goes today

4:15 am, PS Chest/Triceps, abs from Step Heat, 20 minutes of yoga. Tonight I plan to do some walking, need to get back into this.

B - hb egg, one slice toast with PB
S - not sure if I will get one since I will be in a meeting all morning
L - tuna noodle casserole with a couple low fat triscuits
S - cashews or hb egg and cheese
D - chicken, green beans, salad

I bought some Body for Life protein bars and shakes this weekend. I am going to try them and see if they are any good. Anyone else try these?

Morning! Weekend workouts went well & I even got to train my son (12 yrs. old) Fri. night & Sun. morning w/weight training. He LOVES it! How cool is this? I'm so excited. I hope to see his weight shift soon.

Eats today are:

Meal 1: oatmeal w/protein powder + coffee
Meal 2: cottage cheese w/blueberries & granola + white tea
Meal 3: tilapia/broccoli + apple
Meal 4: chicken salad w/feta cheese
Meal 5: cheese burger w/corn

Rhonda: I no longer eat protein bars so I can't really help you on this. I just hope there's not too much sugar in them.:(

What yoga DVD do you do? I'm looking for one where I can do just short segments of it. All of mine are at least 60-70 min. long. TIA.
 
Morning all! The weekend was not my best. The In-laws came to see the baby Friday night and we ordered pizza. I have to get back on track now.

B - Protein Shake
S - Banana
S - Protein Bar
L - Turkey sandwhich with spinach and mushrooms on whole wheat
S - Grapefruit
D - Salmon, broccoli
S - Cottage Cheese

Do you think that two snacks of fruit is too much fruit for one day? I am always nervous about eating too much fruit because of the sugar content. Should I be?

Rhonda - I have never tried those. I have been really happy with the Just Deee-licious protein bars made by Hi-Health. They are low carb low sugar. And I drink the Myoplex Lite protein shakes. They are pretty good. I like they Myoplex original shakes better, but they were just too many calories.

Hi Kathy,
When Yoga Zone was on Wisdom TV I recorded two tapes full of the show and do that. I fast forward through the commercials which makes it around 18-20 minutes long, just perfect.

I am also awaiting on the new Sara Ivanhoe yoga tapes, which I should get around the first week of December, they are five different tapes at 20 minutes each.

Hello all! This weekend I wasn't too bad, I think I was too buisy to eat really bad. Yesterday wasn't the best though, but it was only one day. I did the walk for diabetes yesterday. It was actually a lot of fun because we got to walk on the vikings football field! My 4 year old son had a blast running the length of the field and making pretend touchdowns.

Ok, today is:
B- egg white omlette W/ greentea
L- Tilapia w/ broccoli
S- Protein shake
D- Chilli ( I made a lot on Friday!)
S- Apple

For a workout today I think that I will do a slim series workout. I didn't workout on Friday and haven't had time at all this weekend, except the walk yesterday. But I have a hard time counting that because my son was with and we were going at his pace.
I was looking at those BFL bars at the store the store yesterday when I was picking up syringes for my son and didn't htink that the shakes looked too bad. The bars had some saturated fat in them but where low on the sugar, so that is good. But the fat is bad. So, I would maybe eat the protein bars in moderation due to the saturated fat.

Ok, back after my creeping crud. Ever notice when you can't workout your eating goes to pot, too? I ate everything! I am back on this week.

1 - Oatmeal with pumpkin, sugar free maple syrup and protein powder
2 - protein bar
3 - Leftover steak and broccoli, carrots
4 - cottage cheese, apple
5 - turkey white chili (Saving dinner)
