Good afternoon everyone,

What do you all think of a Healthrider? Pros and Cons?

I used to have one and found it boring. I'd much rather do a DVD for cardio. But everyone is different, you might like it.

I have one that I used for a long time, but it's collecting dust right now. It's a really great back workout. I got back muscles like you wouldn't believe from using it, but I also added lots of weight plates when I used it. It DOES get boring, but then you must set it up in a room with a TV, a must for all cardio equipment.

Catherine, and Honeybunch,

Thank you for your shared expierences about the healthrider. I purchased one many years ago, and was pondering if I should put it in my newly weight room. Seems a waste not to use it anymore, when I have room for it.

I will try adding more weight to it and make sure I have something to watch on TV as I ride along. But I sure don't want to waste my time. I guess use it for a little while and see what happens. I do want my back defined.

Are they still around?
I had one, also found it boring, and not able to increase in intensity after a certain point (though I guess with the newer models, you can add weights).
I think they'd be good for sedentary people wanting to start out, or for someone not interested in advanced exercise.

At one point I was adding 70# to mine, and believe me, that was intense!

I had to buy an attachment that allowed me to add weight.
