Hi Mary,
The thing I NEVER do for my shin splints is run...LOL.
All joking aside. I was told I should sit on a bench and have someone roll a weight across my shins to loosen the muscle b/c it's very tight. Or I should do an exercise very similar to what Cathe does in GS Legs; sitting on the floor, toes flexed and pushing and releasing the ball for a 4-6 ct. I've only done the ex. Cathe does. I was also told I should try to run (not fast) or jog often to loosen that muscle, even if it's for a few minutes until the burning goes away...?????
My niece use to run track and was very good at it and won trophies--but she also said that when she first started out, her shins use to bother her as well. But she pushed pass the pain. Then again she was a teenager at the time.....and me, well :+
I think I will try to jog/run often and see what happens.
