Have you reached your goal?

Hi everyone, I'm new to the boards. I have lurked for a while reading and enjoying all of the enthusiasm here.

I Firmed and did BFL for a few years with a little success. I haven't gotten nowhere near what I'm shooting for.

For reasons of stress in my family situation, and bad habit, it has been difficult to put my basic needs on the "to-do" list. I seem to be getting better at rewriting my list and doing it more often. I've just started to do that again and -here I am!

A few months ago I bought the CrossTrain Xpress DVD's and I love them. I think that Cathe can take me where i want to go.

My goal is to whittle off 45 pounds and get enough stamina and strength to rock my way through any DVD that Cathe can dish out.

I would love to hear if anyone has reached their fitness goals by doing rotations of Cathe's work. If you could share the following:

What you did
how long it took you
How you are doing with maintenance
what is your favorite/most effective rotation

Thanks in advance, I appreciate any input!!!

Danna:)

I got my best results using BFL. After the first 12 weeks then I rotated 4 weeks BFL, 4 weeks Slow/heavy and 4 weeks pyramids.

I have reached my goal, but am continuing to make more goals and with BFL I've been successful in maintaining previous goals and keeping up with new goals.

Personally I have reached one of my goals for myself. I am doing Cathe, and taebo and a few other instructors but mostly Cathe. For me it has taken a long time, between medication that put weight on and perimenopause reeking havoc on my cycles I have been doing this for about 2 years now. I seem to be a yo yo weight person. But I have fulfilled one of my goals in that I can now go into any store and pick up any size 12 and it FITS!!!:7 :D I can even fit into some 10's but my goal was to be a size 12 in everything (not dresses though I am too busty) but in pants and skirts I am a size 12!!! Mind you I am 5ft 7 and weigh anywhere from 170.5 to 174 and can fit into a size 12!! This is a very good thing for me. I am big boned and a DD on the top! I do 3 days of weights and 3 days of cardio sometimes I will do 4 days of weights along with the cardio and I always take Sundays off.

Welcome to the board!!:)

My goal is to be 22 and look like a fitness model, so I will never reach it, :p but as far as weight and fitness, I have been at my goal for years. Cathe keeps making me more cut and strong, especially in the core area since the Intensities came out. I've been doing Cathe since 1996, and almost exclusively Cathe since 1998, and eating very healthy and carefully for many years.

I am pushing 47 so it's an important struggle. I don't mind losing 5 lbs and getting more leg definition, but truthfully, I am really "at goal".

Best of luck with your weight loss and fitness goals, Danna!

I reached my WW goal in October, and have stayed within a few pounds of it since then by doing a combo of mostly Cathe. I tried Mindy but couldn't get into her. I recently purchased the first three Tracie Long Production videos and really like them! I get bored easily, and while NO ONE in my humble opinion comes close to Cathe in terms of strength training or overall production quality in videos, I need to do a variety of things in order to stay motivated. It's just who I am. When we finally have warm weather here (perhaps June or July??? LOL!!), I will be outdoors more walking and biking, but in these long, dreary, cold winter months I workout at home. Me and my tapes and weights and barbell and stability and medicine balls.

At the end of this month (Happy April Fool's Day everyone!!), it will mark the one year anniversary of my starting WW. It will also mark the one year anniversary of my working out consistently and without more than a few days' break, for the first time since I was in college - about 25 years ago!!!!

How do I stay where I am? I have no idea. And that's the truth. This is as much of a shock to me as to anyone. I don't know why or where the motivation suddenly is there, but I'm so very grateful that it is. Losing 60 pounds and working out for nearly a year non-stop has changed every single aspect of my life, and that's no joke.

I hope you find the same thing I did. I sincerely mean that!!

Carol
