Have you ever sung at a karyokee bar?

You should come to Philly and go out with me!! You would have a blast. I use to go to this bar that had Kareokee every Wed night. The last 2 songs I sang was "I Will Survive" & "Like a Virgin". I'm not kidding you!! It was the funniest thing! I must have had at least a half a case of Coors Light in me!

LOL Aila! i have only been to kareokee a few times and i have only participated once. i know it was a dixiechick song, but i can't recall which one. there were several girls up there with me......but i genuinely enjoy lmao at those who sing regularly and are not good! i have a friend who goes to this bar every friday to sing kareokee and she is supposedly very good. i will have to go and have a listen. my problem is that when i have gone, i haven't been able to contain my loud laughter outbursts....:p

dh loves coors light...yuck!

So whats the spelling on "kareoki" gals - damn if I know

Anyways, Im a very "selfish" singer and hog the mic alnight. After a few vodkas (Aila) I can sing ANYTHING and really beleive Im good.......and the audience are just tone deaf

Been booed of once, but that doesnt count because that was from my DH

You have to stay in shape. My grandmother started walking when she was 60. Today she is 97 and we don't know where the hell she is! - Ellen DeGeneres

I grew up singing and still love it! The last time I did Karoke was about a year ago with my daughter who is 20 and her 2 friends. My daugher and I sang Reba's song "Does She Love You". We had a blast. It's fun to let loose now and then, and music is healing to the soul.
Wish I could quit my day job.... LOL

A friend of ours has a kareoke machine that she brings to parties. You hook it up to the TV and the words come on the screen. It's pretty fun!

I'm with you cakebaker. I used to think (after getting reaaaallllyyy drunk) that I could do a pretty good Janis Joplin. Um, I was wrong.

Couldn't stand it. Had to look it up. I'm so AR. It's karaoke.

As for doing it, no, I live in a small town and have never been to a karaoke bar. But I WOULD sing, under the right circumstances. I "can't carry a tune in a bucket" as my grandma would say, but I make up in volume what I lack in talent.

Once, when I was in a college Elementary Music class, we had to learn to play either the guitar or the piano. I chose the guitar (because I already knew, from piano lessons when I was young, that I couldn't do two things with two different hands at the same time on the piano). Our "recital" was a group rendition of "Row, Row, Row Your Boat." My group of six dwindled away to nothing about halfway through, so I just got louder and louder as each voice drifted off, and finished the song all by myself. I SHOULD have been embarrassed. :)

Nowadays, my fifth graders look at me like I'm nuts when I sing Happy Birthday. I really, REALLY can't sing. I even use that as a threat to get them back on task . . . "If you don't get that done and get it done right now, I'm going to SING -- to YOU -- in front of EVERYBODY!" Sometimes it actually works.

Never by myself, only with a friend. I have a terrible singing voice. And, I have to have a drink first.

All the time, as often as I can!!! I was born to be onstage!!!!! All that whistling and clapping and "great job!!" Who can resist? My favorite is Martina McBride, but I can also do Bonnie Raitt, Cher, Melissa Etheridge, Patty Loveless...the list goes on and on. Who can't I do? Reba ! Just can't copy that woman's voice! LOL
