Have to work out at the gym

I love Cathe's workouts although I don't have many. My husband wants to join the gym at the university where I work and get a personal trainer there which is wonderful. In order for him to join, I need to be a member too. It is very cheap since I'm on staff but it doesn't make sense for me to keep buying Cathe's DVDs and weights, etc. when I have access to that at the gym. I really love Cathe's workout style especially with strength training. She really makes me push myself and lift heavier than I would on my own. I wish she had a book or something with basic techniques and suggestions I can use when working out at the gym. As far as I know there is nothing like that by her. Does anyone know of any books describing strength training in a similar style or have any suggestions as to how to structure my workouts. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks!

The new "Women's Health Big Book of Exercises" is an excellent resource, showing many different exercises and variations, as well as exercise plans and suggestions for developing your own workouts. It's my latest favorite fitness book.

Just a thought, but...... did you ever consider buying some of her strength downloads? I will be doing that with STS. I have all of STS strength on my ipod. If you have a video capable ipod the workouts can go with you. It's like having Cathe at the gym with you. What could be better????

Kathryn,

Not my thread, but I took your book suggestion and ordered it on amazon. Thanks for the idea. Linda

Thanks Kathryn and Jennifur. Those are both great ideas. I looked up that book online and it looks like a wonderful resource.
I hadn't thought about the downloads but that would work well too. I can just bring my Ipod to the gym. That way I can make sure I don't miss all those "little pulses"!

Thanks again!

I occasionally use some of Cathe's workouts at the gym and that seems to work fine for me I also own the book that Kathryn suggested. It is a great resource.

I would think you could follow sts at the gym just by printing out each day's workout card. You wouldn't even need the download.
