Well, Mom goes on her 2.5 week trip back home today. Which means that I start sleeping amongst the Wild 4 down on the floor of her place. It's going to be fairly....um....well, some lugging of necessities (my bedding, things I need to wash up and stuff....) is going to have to take place. But that's all right. I decided to do it that way (sleep at her place) because I thought her two squirrels would feel better having her scent around,...and also because I myself am having two guests come in a few days to stay at my place for 1.5 weeks, and one of them is allergic to cats! http://planetsmilies.net/shocked-smiley-9449.gif


This also means that I'll have to really clean my apartment AGAIN. Again!! Can you imagine having to really clean your apartment so soon after you'd already cleaned? LOL.

Anyway, taking care of the 4 squirrels while living at Mom's while my guests live at my place will get a little more complicated when I have weekends out of town (my American friends will tag along with me) and another friend of mine will stay at my Mom's with the squirrels..so I need to figure out about extra clean bedding and stuff.

I feel tired. LMAO.

Heh. It will be a fun, adventurous 2.5 weeks! I'll be able to feel like I live in a giant mansion where I sleep on one floor and change my clothing and do my makeup on another floor. LOL.

But I have good Oogi news. She caught a tarantula!! It truly was a miraculous moment. Those buggers are hard to catch. But she faced him head on and caught him (it was quite shocking actually, because she wasn't expecting to see him there in front of her suddenly)!

Now if she's patient and can catch her two kinds of locusts, an orchid mantis, a monarch butterfly, a red dragonfly, a cricket and a bell cricket - and those should be fairly easy - she'll be able to get her golden bug net prize!

And oh she wants her golden bug net prize so badly!!

Oh, she also needs to catch a flea...and fleas are only found on dirty neighbors, but there are no dirty neighbors living in her village yet, so she's going to have to hope that a new villager will move in soon. One that's dirty.

Half a roof?! But, but if the friend who is rebuilding it had to stop due to weather, what was happening with you guys and half a roof and bad weather?!

ROBIN - LMAO. Okay. Now I want Mexican. You know, I still have a bunch of the makings for Mexican from when Jen had made me want Mexican ages ago. Except that Ched always got in the way.

The kitty personality stuff has got to be age. My guys just turned 12 weeks. They're amused by pretty much anything. They love when I wear long skirts and they camp out underneath where I happen to stand. But they especially love anything if it's a cardboard box. With a hole. At both ends.

OMG, LMAO at Sport! How clever he is!! Totally funny how he escapes his time out and how he knows to go scratch under the bed in the middle where you can't get to him. LMAO! Cute! I always think about him going up to the mirror and huffing and puffing at his image. That cracked me up.

I've read that it's not good to cradle a cat, but by fluke, I cradled Mooch today.....and it was the first time he ever let me hold him for more than five seconds! I was really surprised. He just went kind of limp and sat there with his head pressed against my arm, and his cute little squiggly soft belly hairs curling up. I'm afraid I'm going to have to try cradling him again tomorrow to see if he just happened to be sleepy or something.

Hey August- Sounds like you are going to have a hectic few weeks! At least your mom's place is in the same building as you, I'm sure that will make it a little easier. Yes, Sport is one of a kind I tell you! The mirror hissing is still the funniest thing he has ever done, I crack up just thinking about it. He is quite the scardy cat though & my mom who has one of his brothers says he is the exact same way. It is amazing to me how much alike they are in almost everything they do considering they haven't been together since Tiger, Sport's brother, was 8 weeks old. If anything is out of place at all Sport gets all freaked out & has to go up to it and start batting at it like it's something that is going to attack-doesn't matter what it is either- skirts, paper, towel, drink bottle, anything. I so wish I would've had a video on him last week after work. I was in the bedroom changing to workout & took off the skirt I had on & tossed it on the floor. A minute later Sport comes into the room, sees the skirt, and hisses at bats at it. So, I went to pick it up so it wouldn't bother him & I scared the crap out of him & he jumped so high in the air & backwards at the same time, it was so funny- especially since he has the ability to bounce straight up in the air to about my chest height so you can imagine that topped off with going backwards, too funny!!!

Any good stories about your kitties? Sport lets me cradle him and hold him but Storm would probably take out my eye if I tried to cradle her, I can pick her up to move her fat butt but holding is out of the question. She even hisses at me half the time when I move her & she doesn't want to. It's amazing how much I love her even though she is so darn rotten!

I'm back from seeing Mom off. Yeah, it's sooo way easier that my Mom's apartment is in the same building. If it wasn't, man would that be something. I'd really have to pack my bag like I was going on a trip for two and a half weeks.

All the squirrels are at my place right now and they're so funny. As I write, Lulu and Chami are chewing apart the cardboard box that my delivery of soymilk arrived in, Mooch is eating (biiiiig surprise there, LOL), and Yoyo is trying to figure out what to do.

How on earth am I going to be able to work? :)

That's wild that Sport and his brother Tiger are so similar even though they've been apart. Have you thought to get them together for a reunion? My guys love to be all together and they have such a fun time playing.

Okay, Yoyo figured out he wanted to go into the cardboard box through the tiny hole and just now totally forced his way through it LOL.

LOL about Sport and his batting things that aren't usually where they are kept! That's pretty amazing that he can jump that high. How old is he now?

Hmm. Good kitty stories........lesse here.....I'm for sure going to have some this week LMAO.

Okay. I guess I should attempt to work.

Can I tell you the great connection I found in my Mom's apartment? I've never set up my computer in this particular spot....but boy, it's a hot spot!

I hate Monday!!

Actually, I hated this whole weekend !!;(

August, we had half a NEW roof , not half a roof. They just didn't take the old shingles off until he could come back !!!!:p ;-)

But this weekend was horrible. Sat. they worked from 7am until 11pm.
They tore off the old shingles, cleaned all that up, & hauled it off .
THEN needed to replace a few boards that were bad. WELLLLLLLLLLLLL the few boards turned into , I don't know how many, but over $400 worth !!!!!!!!!!! DH had to go buy more and more and it took more & more of the day......replacing the bad wood !
Soooooooooooo BECAUSE all of that took most of the day.......the heat of the day built up and up (it was SMOKING HOT all day) and although we were in the middle of a draught, and hadn't seen rain in weeks......the sky turned black .......remember, there is no paper on the roof now and some of the new wood hadn't even been put on yet and the sky turned black and it started to POUR !!!!!!!!!!:eek:
The guys scrambled to put tarps over everything but we didn't have close to enough to cover the whole front of the house and the rains came in !!!!!!!! Our stuff in the attic got soaked and as the rain continued, we got water damage in the house !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They waited out one storm, only to have another come through.
Finally, in the DARK , they got as much of the paper on as possible and tarped the rest !

We went to bed with the forecast for more rain and just crossed our fingers! It DID rain...it poured and we got more damage.

DH & I were up and ready to go by 6:30 . By 9am we had been to Lowe's twice.
The roofer NEVER SHOWED UP!!!!!!!!!!!

He called and said he was worried they'd get started and it would rain again, he suggested we let it dry a while and keep an eye on the sky and forecast and he'd call us back.........there WAS 40% chance of rain but after morning it never rained again all day and he never called back !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:eek: x(

WE had MORE rain last night, more water damage and I am one unhappy camper !
The roofer is a friend from DH's work......
and DH thinks that he was really sore and tired after the LOOOOOOOOOOOONG day Saturday , which is totally understandable but he should have SAID that ! We wouldn't have wasted our day waiting for him to show up or call !!!!!x( :eek: :(

Sooooo .....now they have to try to work AFTER work. And all week we are going to be in a heat emergency with the heat index at 100 or higher ! At 2:30 this morning, it was still 85 degrees !
NOT roofing weather!! Not safe for them, and you can't walk on hot shingles.....they start to melt and slide!!

Anywayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy......I am not my normal cheery self today, so forgive me!

On the up side, after doing CC PP (I'm sorry August, I won't go on and on, just a little note.....) I still have DOMS in my BEHIND from those 12% inclines !!!!:eek: :p }(

How you all ask????....well ok here goes, I don't have to go to work at that crapy job any more!!!! YEAH!!!! It all went down on Friday, things got out of hand and I went ahead and told them to have a nice day, but I did not need their crap any more! It was a slight "knee jerk reaction" to something, but I was know things happen for a reason and my stress level was 2000% most of the time and I was so not happy so it was the best thing.

So, that means I get to play again, well at least until I find another job for now!!!

So, how is everyone? Gee, I feel like I have been gone forever!

Will you be able to salvage anything in your attic? Do you have a basement where you can move things until they finish the roof?

You're right about the weather, and I'm sorry to tell you that the forecast is calling for more rain today with temps in the 90's all week;( . You'll be in my prayers for sure, Becky. At this point there's no use in letting it worry you -- the damage has been done and it can only get better from here on out. I hope your insurance will cover any damage you've incurred and that this trial won't affect any friendships, although I'd be pretty upset with that roofer for not showing up! Is he a professional roofer by trade? Is he insured? He should at least deduct the damages from your bill. {{{{{MORE HUGS}}}}} and yes, do PUMP -- it will help to work off some of that tension you surly must be feeling right now. Keep us posted on what happens.

Hi Jennifer!!!!

My weekend flew by. Poor Gabe has to get glasses and he is so upset. They should be ready on Aug 10. He keeps saying that they look dumb and everyone is going to make fun of him at school. I feel so bad for him. Saturday night DH and I went to a couples shower. It was so boring that I left him there. HA!!! He was going back to stay at the races with some of the guys so I was outta there early! Yesterday I took Gabe swimming. He went off the high dive so many times I lost count. I wasn't going to let him b/c I was afraid but I had to give in. Next weekend he is going camping all weekend with my DH's dad and step mom. DH is staying at the races all weekend so it'll just be me and Gan. My brother is coming home for the weekend so I"m hoping that he'll want to do something.

Well, better get back to work. Hey to everyone that I might have missed.

I did not exactly tell them to go and shove it, I just told them the more I work here, the less I seem to get paid and the more I am away from my child and that is just not worth it to me anymore. They understood.

It's 3am and I'm totally awake LOL. Plus, my internet connection comes and goes (frowny emoticon here since I can't get on the emoticon section because of my sloooooww connection LOL).

So I had a couple friends drop by and they played the heck out of the kittens and I thought, oh yeah! I'm going to get some great sleep because the squirrels are going to totally zonk out!

Then they zonked out as my friends and I talked a little bit........and then after they left, I washed up and took out my bedding.

Bedding?!

Bedding? Like, sheets and fun new toys like that?!

And then all of a sudden there was stampede of wild squirrels all over the bedding like you would not believe. It was actually totally funny - they were so excited they were running amok on the sheet, under the sheet, running across me, biting my foot and running away at top speed.......I was laughing pretty hard.

And now....now, thankfully, they wore themselves out.

So I'd better get myself to bed while I still have a chance.

Refresher : I kept telling me friend that I really wanted to get two kittens for my mom. I knew it would be great for her to have some new kiddies to take care of, and I'm out of town on the weekends and I thought she might be lonely..........and then that friend of mine sent me a photo of the four kittens her cat had just given birth to.........and once I saw them all, I was hooked.

Yes, Janjan, it's true. I did buy and read the book. There's nothing new in it that you couldn't find on the internet if you searched and researched a ton. But it's inspirational and a very good read, and has lots of valuable info in it.

DANA - Yup, my friends are coming in from the States. I'm not sure what they'll want to do. But being that one of them is allergic to cats, I know one thing they won't want to do LOL.

Glasses are totally cool! Are you kidding? I wish to high heaven I looked good in glasses. I can totally tell that Gabe is going to look cool, no doubt! If the kids say anything otherwise, it's just because they're envious that they don't have their own.

August, oh yeah, bed making is a real trip with kitties -- LMAO! I love the way Johnny crawls around under the fitted sheet. He always hops up on the mattress as I'm trying to put the fitted sheet on and then tries to attack me through the sheet. It's hilarious. I hope you can get some sleep, girly. What's up with your mom's internet connection? *GASP* the thought of possibly losing you for 2 1/2 weeks to a bad connection is simply horrifying:eek: ;( .

Dana, I can relate -- I'm pretty low on my family's list, too -- lol! I have no idea what excitement is anymore. I guess bed making kitty games and reading Beatrix Potter bedtime stories. Hows that for excitement -- LMAO!

Oh hey, I won't be around much tomorrow if at all. I'm spending the day with my nephew. We're going out to eat and I promised to take him to see Harry Potter. This will be kind of an all-day deal -- he's staying with my IL's and they live a good 30 minutes from me. I'm picking him up and bringing him to my end of town to see the movie because our cinema is newer and a lot nicer -- so that will account for about 2 hours just in driving time alone :eek: ;( .

I have to skedaddle here. I need to get to the grocery store and find something healthy and nutritious for dinner. I'll see y'all later:*
 
Hey haters... I'm sure nobody will see this until tomorrow, unless August or Michelle or Becky are still around this evening!

I did Tone It Up and Bun Shaper from Tony's Power half hour set, met with the landscaper today to go over the drawing, very nice but wow~ expensive!! But, I had her bid me in sections b/c the only part I REALLY need to do is the front for curb appeal for whenever I go to sell, which is not in the near future but want to get it done & actually the price for that is decent, she did a lot more in the backyard than I had planned but I told her I'd hold off on that for a while and she did break out the bids really well so I can pick & choose what I want in the back when I go to do it.

I am exhausted and hitting the sack before too long, talk tomorrow!
