Good morning!

I'm losing my mind. The ants...the ants! They're everywhere. These are no stragglers, this is a whole friggin army of ants and they're all over my first floor. They're crawling up the walls in my kitchen and now I won't even make any food in there. Of geez, it looks like I'm going to have to eat out all day}( :p

Did y'all see that Cathy posted an intermediate rotation!? I have been hoping and praying and asking for this for months! I'm excited about it and I think that's what I'm going to do instead of the 16 week fat loss thing. So, I think I've changed my mind about what rotation I'm going to do twice in as many days. Yes, I've always been known for my decisiveness.

August, I think the question on everyone's mind this morning is this; did you get a donut yesterday? :p }( . I hope so, for crying out loud!

How was your meeting? Hows Oogi? Has she been compensated for the fake painting yet?

Jen, how are you this morning? You've been on my mind and I hope you feel better and rested today. Don't jump right back into your workouts, kay? If you're feeling up to it, opt for something lighter today.

I'm back. That didn't take long. I spent my time on the phone killing ants. I've found that Simple Green is an effective pesticide as well as an all 'round excellent all purpose cleaner.

Where is everyone?

Arista, how's it going for you today? I doubt you've gained a pound. It was probably just water weight. I never stress over 1 pound. My weight seems to be holding steady, or what is often referred to here as a plateau ;)

Robin, you must be about ready to leave. :( I hop e you enjoy your fungus meeting. I saw your post about checking out the Whole foods. We don't have that chain here, either. We have Wild Oats and it's okay but nothing to rave about. I'll be interested in your opinion of WF. Make sure you get a big ole box of barley:D

Terri, did you manage to do both of your workouts yesterday? I really have to hand it to to you -- you should be really proud of yourself for even dreaming of doing that. I like your plan and thought I might try it, but I know that realistically I would never be able to stick to a 2 workout/day plan. He!!, I can't even stick to a one w/o/day plan ;(

Dana, Diane, Deb, Mariah, and all -- what's happening?

I'm starving so I think I'm going to take myself out for breakfast. I'll BBL:*
 
Dear Aunt Michele. LOL. Did the exterminator say they may come back, or did he take your money under false pretenses? I'm glad Cathe listened to you an created an intermediate rotation. I'm looking for something a tad bit harder, so will probably do one of the older rotations. If I have a hard time with something harder, I'll drop back and join you, Michele.

Jen, I hope you are feeling better. I'm glad you took a day off and hope you don't have to extend it. It seems funny, but after taking a couple days off, I find my joints, back, etc seem to ache more then if I've been working out.

I'm leaving work in a couple hours to go home and finish packing up. I hope to be on the road with my bag of snacks (Peanut M&Ms!) by 1pm and should be at my destination by about 4 or5. There are two malls/shopping complexes close by, so I'll probably spend the evening shopping. The rest of the weekend will be spent in workshops and I will be microbiologied out by Sat evening. I'll be back home, Lord willing, Saturday night. Knowing me, I'll probably log onto the computer and say hi to you guys before I greet DH. If not, I'll see you Sunday. I'm taking workout clothes and may get on a treadmill Friday and/or Saturday morning. Otherwise, I'm not sweating the workouts till Sunday. See you then, unless there is a computer available at the hotel and I pop in now and them for a suprise visit.
 
Hey Robin! I just edited my post ^^^ there, so we were posting at the same time.

The exterminator -- I have a contract with him so he comes March through December and I don't have to pay for any extra visits, so his last call was free...sort of. Lets face it, they get you one way or another--lol!

Hi ladies -

I missed everyone yesterday! I had to do a document review out of the office yesterday so I wasn't near a computer all day. However, the company I was at is right next door to the Galleria mall (huge, nice mall) so the girl I was with and I took a long lunch break and went to a few shops.

Anyway, I had to lift about 50 million bankers boxes full of documents (which I know is a big no no, but there other girl doesn't know I am preggo and I can't tell her - she is a gossip). Anyway, I hurt my back really bad. When I got home I layed down and then couldn't get back up off the couch. I went to bed early and now my back is fine.

I have some catching up to do in the office, so I will come back later and check in.

Diane, you be careful, young lady! I would rather you tell people about your pregnancy than risk it for the sake of keeping your secret. Please, please be careful. I'm glad your back is feeling better. Come talk to us when you have time. We miss you:*

Double Gasp!! Diane - you better take it easy. Don't make me come down to Texas and shop at that Galleria Mall!! Because you're in big trouble missy! I'm glad you're feeling better today though. The next time something like that happens, make a different excuse, like you just hurt your back doing Cathe the other day!

Robin - Have a good trip today. Good luck with your tough March rotation. You go girl!

Michele - I'm with you on the intermediate rotation, but I don't have nearly enough videos to attempt it. I think I'm going to have to make my own rotation up. I have to take my dogs running or they'll disown me and lock me out of the house! Plus, there's just something about getting out in that fresh air and sunshine. I love it!:7

Ants, ants, everywhere!! yuck! That totally blows that they're still around. I LOVE going out to eat though, so I hope you can enjoy that at least! And not having to pay the exterminator each time is nice too. But waiting around for him to show up is sometimes worse than shelling out cash!!

I've decided I'm going to plan out my meals and workouts using the Google Calendar online. I'm going to go buy a microwave today so I can start eating more prepackaged meals. I know what you're saying, you WANT to eat more prepackaged meals? Its just a really good way for me to get portions under control. My goal is to keep less food in the house (Only healthy food), so I'm not tempted during the day. And all the stuff that Ryan wants to have... he gets to put on the top cupboard shelf where only he can reach it!

Its rather sad that I have to go to these extremes, but I'm ready to change up my diet. I'm about to cut at least 800 calories per day from my diet, so there'll definitely be some withdrawal action going on... particularly in the sugar department. }(

OK, time to get the arse in gear for the day and get out of my super-comfortable organic cotton PJ's... oh, the softness. But it can't last forever... :(

Hey ladies. Well today is March 1st so I thought I’d weigh myself this morning to report to you all how I did with the 5lb challenge. I’m not happy to report that I only lost 3.5 lbs. So I have 42 more to go. Then I measured myself and I only lost 1.5 inches for the month of February. One inch from my waist and ½ an inch from my right thigh. My left thigh is one inch smaller then my right. What is up with that????

I got my hair cut last night and I love it. I got 2 inches cut off all over and some more layers put in and she framed it around my face. I never had it straightened so she straightened it and it is so soft and silky. I know that once I wash it though it will not look like this. (unless I buy a straightening iron and I don’t have the products she used) I want to get highlights in April but that will cost me probably $100 and I don’t know if I want to spend that kind of money. What do you all pay for salon services in your area? I paid $31 for an eyebrow wax, wash, cut and style.

I don’t know if I’m going to workout tonight or not. I think I’ll probably use today as my rest day. Although I may walk at lunch. I got a promotion at work (not that great of a one) and now I am only getting a 30 min lunch and I have to work 30 minutes longer. (this starts today). So now I’m going to be getting home 30 minutes later and be behind on my schedule 30 minutes. This was my choice – as I will now work 8 hours instead of 7. I thought that reducing my lunch to only 30 minutes would be better then having to stay an hour longer. There is no way I can get here any earlier. I know that I need to workout in the morning, and I tell you guys this all the time. I just cannot get out of bed at 4:00, even though I really, really, should. Help!!!!!! Plus Gabe is starting soccer and t-ball and has CCD so my nights are going to be packed! Plus, I see that Heather loses more weight working out in the am then in the pm??? Interesting.

Michele: I can't believe that you still have ants. That is insane. I do the 30 min program on my elliptical. It starts at level 1, then goes to 3, to 4, to 5, to 7, back to 5, to 7, to 5, to 2 and to 1. I didn't see those pb eggs at the store. :(

August: Hey, where are you today? Yes, do tell, how many donuts did you have?

Robin: Enjoy your trip!!! OK, we will not listen to any music, OK?

Terri: Have you started your rotation yet? I'm rooting for ya!

Arista: So what do you figure will be your daily calorie intake? I need to log my foods too. It is a PIA though. You crack me up with wanting to be taller - you nut!

Mariah: hope you are having a great time with your grandkids!

Well, my lunch is up and I didn't go out for a walk. Today is officially my rest day. Have a great Thursday all!
 
Dana! What, are you kidding? I think you did great with the challenge. I haven't taken off the 5 #'s yet. I figure it may very well take me a good 5 weeks to accomplish my goal. I don't lose weight quickly or easily. Chin up, you silly!

AND...i just broke every conceivable Lenten rule about personal sacrifice over lunch:eek: ;( . I can't even bring myself to a full confession of my sin, but it involves gluttony...and sloth..can't forget the sloth :eek: }(

I would love to see your hair. Are you a curly girl like me? I do battle with my hair everyday and it either looks great or it looks like crap, but it never looks just OK -- LOL! My hair is layered, too, and I've been debating about growing it out, but every time the length reaches a certain point I get to where I can't stand it and layer it all over again. True story -- I've had the same basic hair cut since 1975 ;)

Congratulations on your promotion -- you deserve it!! I know you'll find a way to squeeze a workout in a few times a week. You will because it's important FOR YOU..for your well being. It's not just about achieving a certain number on the scale or the perfect measurements, it's about being healthy and strong. That's the way I'm looking at it, anyway. I know I'm never going to be a size 2, or even a 6, but I'm striving to be the best that I can be, whatever that is. We can do this, Dana. We can and we will. With some thought and careful planning, you can find a way to make it work. And you have us to cheer you on!

The bug man is coming back tomorrow and I can't wait. I just want to cry. I really can't stand those icky ants any more. They were all over my kitty's water dish today;(

**GASP** I almost forgot to say hey to Arista!! Oh, I hear you about not having enough workouts to put together a rotation. I've been slowly buying them over the past several months and I still don't have everything I need. The current rotation calls for Cardio Kicks and the kick boxing w/o from CTX and I don't have either of them. Cathe said I could sub with Kick Max, KPC, or my Eli :D . I bet you'll never guess what I'm going to sub with}( . --Good luck with your meal plans. Let us know if you get the results you want.

Dana: Congratulations! What's the secret for taking the inches off the legs?! I'd be thrilled to lose 1/2 inch off the leg - that's alot! Thanks for the words of encouragement regarding the rotation. I woke up with the shakes this morning so I didn't workout. But I knew last night I wasn't going to because my body was just plain ol' tired.

Arista: I know the feeling with a rotation. I finally decided to just sit down and figure one out. When you get one, will you post it?

Diane: be careful with your body. It's changing rapidly.

Michele: I'm with you on the 5 lb weight loss. Sometimes I feel like just settling for what I am, but then I think, I truly need to lose weight, just for my well-being. Will I be a 4? No. But the rolls and jiggle just have to go...:)

Robin: You probably won't get to read any posts on your trip, but have fun!

Jen: I sure hope you're feeling better...are you lurking today?

We've got close to blizzard conditions today. The snow is really coming down and the winds are picking up. Kids only had 1/2 day of school; I doubt they'll be going tomorrow, either. We're expecting another 20". By Saturday, things are supposed to improve. Even one of the largest malls in the area closed for the day and that's serious!

P.S. I ordered GS Chest & Tris today to complete my rotation. Now the GS collection is complete. 2-a-days aren't so bad, really.
 
Hey everyone. Not many haters here today? My kids are driving me NUTS!!!! My DH left to go shoot archery and they were screaming and he says to me, "Why don't you just take the checkbook and go to Wal-Mart"? Is he nuts? I'm not taking these banchees anywhere. LOL I have to scrub the floor and vaccum thanks to them - they are such dirty little boys. LOL. But I love em to pieces.

Terri - Holy Moly - all that snow! Yikes. You should post pics if you can. I have no idea how I lost 1/2 an inch off of one thigh. I hate lb workouts but I have been doing more step then I normally do so perhaps that is it? Who knows. Have you started being bombarded with e-mails from Sparks People yet? Are you anxious to try GS Chest & Triceps? That is one tough workout.

Michele - We are supposed to get rain in the form of a downpour starting tonight so I expect that it will start soon. I love the rain!!! Have you ever seen the collector rabbits from Pen Delfin? My mom started buying me one each Christmas years ago. They are so cute and are made in England. They kind of resemble Beaxtrix Potter's Peter Rabbit. The shop where she used to get them at went out of business so she hasn't gotten me one in about 2-3 years.(mom doesn't own a computer, she probably could've order one online) I really need to get a curio cabinet for them b/c they really collect the dust.

So you want to see my hair? I am not one to put pics of myself online but for you I had Gabe take a pic of me. He did cut part of the top of my head off. It is in my PT account. My hair is normally wavy but it looks really straight at the moment.

August - where the heck are ya??? You didn't overindulge in the donuts did ya and are now comatose??? Do they have donuts in the village?

I'll post some pics tomorrow afternoon when it's all done snowing. Within the week, we'll have 30"-35" of snow. That hasn't happened in a couple of years.

You are so darn pretty! It's so good to put a face with a name. Hair cut is very cute, too.

And funny, I haven't received one email from Sparkpeople. Not one! :) My chest is sore from yesterday and I only did just a few exercises, but I went heavy, something I haven't done in a while.
 
Evening haters! I am feeling better today, still not 100% but much better than yesterday. I worked, came home, did Firm It Up, swept the house, and now am here. Going to have another early dinner tonight and be in bed early too. It is so windy here today.

Michele- Don't worry about me..I'm okay. That is awful sweet of you though. Sorry about the ants, geesh! I think you need to hire a new place to come out, when I had mine they killed the colony of them and never had another problem!

Robin- In case you check in, hello- hope you are having a fantastic time on your trip, happy shopping!

Diane- You better be careful girl... you are going to have us all worried about you. When are you going to tell everyone at work?

Arista- Cutting your daily calories by 800? That sounds a little drastic... how many calories would you say you eat daily now? You need to be careful or you'll send your body into starvation mode.

Dana- Congrats on the promotion and the 3.5 pounds lost!!! You should be HAPPY about ANY weight loss, good job! I am no help about working out in the AM, there is NO WAY I could do it. Maybe aim for 30 minutes in the morning, so like 4:30 and work your way from there? Who is Heather, I'm lost... Ah, just saw you posted a pic of yourself...going to check that out in a minute!

Terri- Nope, wasn't lurking at all today-I was CRAZY busy at work, which is a good thing. I am feeling better & did Firm It Up tonight. It rained here earlier and the windy is really bad, they are saying we could see a little snow tonight but not calling for anything measurable, I hope they are right.

Okay Dana... you are so pretty! You sell yourself short girl! You are a true beauty & I LOVE your hair! You need to stop talking down about yourself so much, weight is only a small factor in life, yeah, yeah, we all obsess about it too much but honestly, you have 2 healthy boys & a hubby who is a "typical guy" but sounds like a pretty good man!

Hey, about your hair- mine has some natural curl to it also, I use sleek looks on it & also use a biologe leave in treatment after I shower, if your hair is like mine those products would help, I also have to blow dry mine straight each day... which if I had kids wouldn't get done!!!

Hi Judy!!! How is your evening? Aren't they all so nice here in hatersville? I am so glad I found this check-in. You really should join us more often... even if you like cardio like Robin! I was over lurking in the <--- thread (I'd love to post there but by the time I get on-line at 6-7 PM everyone is typically done) and saw you are having a rough day... SMILE!!! My mom was a SAHM while I was growing up and I think it is the best thing a parent can do if they are able. Just wanted to give my two cents, hope you don't mind!
 
Dana - Don't make me come over there! You lost 3.5 pounds??? That is SO GREAT!! Don't you dare say its not. Instead of losing weight, I gained some. So there! My left leg is also smaller than my right. For some reason the right leg must have more muscle or something. It kinda makes sense since I'm right-handed I guess.... ??

And you are a beauty! I love your hair! Mine sounds a lot like yours.. its wavy and will not submit to simple brushing. I want to get a straight iron too, but I'm not sure I'd use it. Although, its last for a couple days at least, so you'd only have to do it every other day... Let me know if you get one and I'll do the same. My hairdresser said the tourmaline ones are the best (better than ceramic). I paid about $45 for my last shampoo, cut, and style. I LOVE my salon! They do the head and shoulder massage and make me look really cute before I leave (it only lasts a couple days though and then my regular hair is back!)

It sounds like we have some musical tastes in common, but I can't say I'd go near Boy George!! That's hilarious!! :p

I used to get up at 4, but it was just SO impractical (and I'm an early bird too). It didn't last long. You've definitely got a BUSY schedule! Congrats on the promotion, that's awesome. I assume you got a raise too? You're so multi-talented Dana, you'll find a way to squeeze in a workout. Go super-mom! (and super-wife, and super-employee... whew! you need to take some time for yourself too! :) )

Michele - That lunch sounds delicious... I hope your dinner is equally so. Where did you end up going?? I'm having mashed sweet taters and steak for dinner (and salad.)

Jen - I'm glad you're feeling better! Enjoy that early bedtime! I'll have to try that Sleek Looks stuff. Without major conditioner, my hair looks like I stuck my finger in a light socket. (Ok, not that bad, but sometimes it feels like it) The conditioner that comes in the Loreal Feria hair color boxes works wonders for my hair. It makes it lay down flat and smooth. Love it!

Terri - I want to see pics of your snow too! It sounds pretty , but quite annoying. I wish we had had more snow when I was kid... but nothing could stop our school from staying open, even with 6 feet on the ground. Darn those rural schoools! My rotation is pretty much going to be 1 hour of working out, 6 days a week, alternating cardio days with cardio and weights days. Nothing fancy, cause I don't have a lot of videos to choose from. But as long as its a tough workout that lasts an hour, 6 days a week, I'll be proud of myself. Because I HAVE NOT been doing that regularly.

I did have THE BEST run today though, about 3.5 miles. I felt so good by the end of it, that the dogs couldn't keep up with me! I love that. That always sets the day off on a good note.

Have I mentioned lately how much I enjoy chatting with you all? Its great fun. Its like keeping a journal, but in a really fun way! I can never stick to journaling.

So I went got me a microwave today, along with 10 Lean Cuisines and a bunch of healthy food (that I can't really eat too much of). So I feel like I'm off to a good start. Its Super-Fabulous-Take-the-Extra-Pounds-Off March!! And Dana's already got a head start on me! Well I've got at least 20 pounds to go... so get ready, get set, let's do it!

Where's August? I'm afraid the donuts may have done her in. Or maybe aliens have landed in the village? :p I need me some Nintendo. But right now, its back to work. I get to watch TV and upload product photos to my website all night. Woo-hoo!
