HATE - Jan 30

August

Cathlete
Morning!

I decided to weigh and see how much spinach I'm putting in my smoothies. The grand total.........drum roll....................2 cups! I'm thrilled! Something about the thought that I'm drinking down a decent salad while enjoying my soft-serve is just plain out thrilling!

Anyway, I did my Christi Humble Beginnings 9801 plus the abs from C&W minus the planky schmanks. That 9801 is a major exercise for the brain. I think I probably have my mouth inadvertently open throughout the whole thing.

Dana - How's Gannon doing? You must thank him for helping you escape Roquefort Island. I never take medicine and always just ride a cold out - though I don't know how fun it would be to ride an infection out. I'm not familiar with RSV. I hope he feels better soon. Urgh, that sucks about throwing away the insurance card. Why on earth do they give it back to you in the paper bag?!...Dana. Two cups. Of spinach. In my smoothies. And I don't taste it at all! Two cups!

>Here is a funny story for you.

That....that was a funny story?! OMG, Dana, the way you started out the story totally cracked me up!! LMAO!

Michele - What's Bar Method? You haven't heard about this? You, the woman who owns so many workouts (not necessarily doing them LOL)! It's a calisthenics workout that lots of people rave about - it's a lot of tiny, repetitive movements. The best part about it for me is that during about 75% of it, I can play Nintendo at the same time. Like Diane mentioned, it's supposed to be good for lifting the buttooty, and when I was doing them regularly, I did notice a lift. Unfortunately, like Diane also mentioned, they're too dull to do regularly for a long period of time...40 pills with liquid concoction?! That ought to make you feel..full! Have fun at your test! LOL.

>I'm sipping a warm mug of chicken bouillon.
>I wish it were a chicken sandwich.

LMAO.

Diane - Wow, that chili actually sounds like something I might be able to make! If I could find soy crumbles, that is. 60 GRAMS OF PROTEIN?! That's a lot for one serving!

Robin - I never thought of it that way - that Mr. Choco Raisin would be doing lots and lots of cardio! I like that thought much better than one of his slovenly self just waiting to get it on with any ol' dust bunny that comes his way...That's great that your coughing seems to be finished.

Arista - Yay! Gandalf is home! It must be nice to have him back...Hey, seasonal holidays or whatever small setback, you accomplished losing 9 pounds! That's awesome! The 4 and whatever rest you plan to lose will be a thing of the past soon enough!

Janjan - Hey you, travel woman! Score up those points!

Jen - Don't freak me out with the raisin legs! LMAO!...I have to say that there is something whimsical about the "diet" in Kahlua Diet Hot Cocoa...Your kitties sound so dang cute.

Okay, I'm off. Have a good one!

Good morning -

August - you crack me up. What else goes in these smoothies? I must have missed that earlier.

Dana - How is Gannon feeling?

Michele - We will miss you today!

I once again actually woke up this morning all ready to go on a walk around the neighborhood, but of course it was raining outside. So I did some core work, floorwork and kegels from a book I have called "Fit to Deliver". It is so hard to workout from a book for me. I am lazy and don't do all the reps.

Hi everyone.

Diane - I love the names you and DH have picked out. I swore that w/Gannon I was having a girl b/c I felt totally different w/his pregnancy then with Gabe. I was so suprised when at the U/S they said it was a boy. I can't workout to a book either. Boring! What is the temp where you live if you're getting all that rain? It is 19 here - brrrr!!!

August - Holy crap!! 2 cups of spinach???? How big are these smoothies? You must blend it awful long since you put everything in it. I'll take your word for it that it tastes good. How on earth can you do a workout and play nintendo at the same time? As your friend, I think it is time for an intervention - you are totally addicted to this nintendo and you need to seek professional help. Soon - before it is too late. When you start referring to Mario and others as if they were real people, it will be too late for you to get help. }(

Michele - I know that you're not reading this, but I'm thinking of you today and sending big hugs your way.

Jen - nope, never tried those LC you are talking about. I did try their panini sandwich (I think it was chicken, mozarella and spinach) and it was really good. Considering it came from a box. I'm not familiar with any of the Beach Body workouts you are doing. Are they from a particular BB series?

Robin - glad that you are feeling well enough to get in a workout. And cardio yet. I know that when I'm feeling under the weather, I can do weights but not cardio. How did your daughter make out with finding child care and getting some assistance?

Arista - I'm glad that you got Gandalf home. How are the two of them getting along today? I remember when I had my cat Malaki and I brought home another cat. He did not like it at all - and she hid for days. They never really did connect and ended up giving the female to an eldery lady.

Well I am home again. Gannon is doing a bit better I think, although he refuses to eat. Thanks for asking everyone. When I took his temp this morning he didn't have a fever. He is coughing and his nose is running like a faucet. The medicine he is on gives him red runs. Yuk!!! We'll see how today goes to determine if I can go back to work tomorrow. I've come to the conclusion that he is a high maintenance child. LOL. He is so used to the struture and always doing something at dayare that he isn't happy just playing with toys by himself. Although he is sick, we have played hide and go seek, blown bubbles, read books, sang songs and chased each other around the house. He is still going strong too!

Since Michele isn't reading this today I guess I can talk about food huh? ((sorry Michele). Today I"m making a stir fry for lunch. I had everything cut up by 8:30 this morning. I'm putting chicken breast, cabbage, broccoli, snow peas, green peppers, jalepeno peppers, onions, enoki mushrooms and a pack of gourmet mushrooms. I'm marinating the chicken in minced garlic, white pepper, kosher salt and a bit of olive oil. Should be good. Or at least I hope. Tonight I'm making peach chicken. I saw it in magazine. My family will probably hate it. Oh well.

So last night I did CARDIO! Yes, you are reading that correctly. I did the 41 min pre-mix of cardio fusion. I REALLY like that one. Next time I'm going to try the one that Robin did yesterday (step premix). I also did the abs from MIS. Today's workout will be abs from C&W and abs from SPL and Legs & Glutes. I'll try to do the abs today and then L&G tonight.

Have a great day everyone! :)

May a new member join?

Hi, Everyone,
Jen told me that she just recently joined this check-in and suggested I join - is there any more room in the club? Unfortunately, I am one of those people who MUST do cardio, MUST lift weights and MUST eat clean in order to shed a pound. This check-in would be great to keep myself accountable.

Do you all work out every day? Would you mind if I joined?

Thanks!
Terri

Hi all!

I just got home form my snake adventure and all is well. I haven't read any of your posts because I'm still a little woozy and sleepy. I'm going to bed now and snuggle with my kitty.

Have a nice day everyone and I'll see you later:* :* :*

ETA Terri. we'd be happy to have you!

Okay. Question.

How big is a smoothie supposed to be?

:D

Um....um............mine are.......about 2 cups. Is that humongo? Don't even tell me you guys drink a 1-cup smoothie.

2 cups spinach :)
1 frozen banana
50 grams frozen strawberries (sorry, don't use ounces)
50 grams frozen blueberries
2 tbsp All-Bran or oatmeal (gotta give it some goop)
1/4 cup cold water (the spinach turns into green water pretty quickly)
1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder

Ehh woila! Soft-serve de la salade.

Obsession with Nintendo? I don't know what you're talking about. I have a very healthy relationship with my Nintendo, and Mario can vouch for me on that. Besides, it's not that I'm actually doing a lot of playing on it while doing Bar Method, but in my village, every ten minutes there's a possible present flying through the air and I just need to check to make sure I don't miss it with my sling-shot. I can certainly do that while doing pelvic thrusts.

:*

I agree with Dana, Diane, your attitude towards exercising from a book isn't influenced by laziness - it's just plain out booooo-riiing!

Glad to hear that Gannon is doing better....and sheesh, that stir-fry sounds like it's gonna be really delish! (Which is more than I can say about Peach Chicken  )

Woah! Two posts in the time it took me to write this response?!

Michele - So glad you're back home safe and sound and snuggling with kitty (and not the snake LMAO!!). Rest well and see you later!

Terri - Welcome! Welcome! We'd love for you to come and check in with us. I hope we'll be motivating enough though LOL........We're so glad to have you! Well, let's see. I work out 6 days a week and from next month am going to be doing a Pyramids/Slow & Heavy rotation with lots of Christi cardio here and there. I tend to try to do about an hour per workout....What kind of workouts are you doing?...Anyway, pleased to meet you!

All right. It's 12:40am here (I'm in Tokyo) so it's time for.......yeah well all right. A little Nintendo. Is it a crime? :* Then I'm off to bed. :7

Hi Michele - Get some sleep with your kitty!

Welcome Terri - I try to workout as much as I can, but I usually have a hard time getting up in the morning to work on a work day. I just found I am pregnant recently so I have been modifying my workouts and just alternate walking and prenatal toning videos for now.

Hi Terri! It is great to have you here. I don't work out nearly as much as I would like to. I work full-time and have two little ones so it is hard to squeeze in quality workouts.

August - you know, denial is one of the first signs of an addiction? You probably should seek the attention of someone with experience in dealing with nintendo obessions. I bet that someone in your village can refer a good specialist. tee-hee. Perhaps someday I will try your smoothie recipe. Don't diss my peach chicken. I will let you know how it is. Oh and it is called curried peach chicken.

Michele - glad you are home! Get some rest and we'll catch up with you tomorrow.

OK, this is creepy. This morning I had on the tv and the remote was right on the table next to the couch. About an hour ago I thought I'd pop in a dvd and try to do some abs. The remote was missing, no where to be found. (you need the remote to change from tv to dvd) I took all the cushions off the couch, moved the couch, looked in drawers, cupboards, under things, in things. It was gone!!! So I"m sitting on the couch, I get up to answer the phone and when I go back to the couch it is laying right on the couch - right in plain view. I'm totally freaked. Me and Gannon are the only ones here and he certainly did not have it. Isn't that creepy???????? Also, his toy was going off and nobody was out in the kitchen to push the buttons. You all probably think I'm nuts.

I'm going to attempt to burn a cd - never done that before and then try to do some abs.

I'll be back later - that is if the ghost doesn't get me. BOO!

Dana - That story just gave me chills. I have things happen like that to me and usually the thing I was looking for was there all along I just blocked it out somehow. No explanation for the toy though.

GOod morning all!

Terri - Nice to meet you! Welcome. I'm new here too, only been checking in for a week, but it is nice to have a board like this to go to to check in with. I work out about 5 days a week, give or take a day. At this point, I'm just getting back to working out consistently. I took a year off after I sprained my wrists (and got lazy!) What workouts are you doing? And I'm right there with you on the exercise and eating clean thing. Shedding pounds is really tough for me - I can never seem to lose those last 6 or 7 pounds. But I also have a really hard time eating clean. I'll blame it on my fiance.

Michele - Welcome home, snuggle in, and take it easy! My kitty Gandalf snuggled me all morning, so I'm right there with you. I love snuggly animals.

So far, Tiger is NOT liking Gandalf. They haven't seen each other in about a month, and they weren't exactly best pals before that. Although they've lived together for about three years now. They oughta work things out by the end of the day I would imagine. Tiger has been doing his low meowing and hissing thing, but I'm sure he'll get over it.

Gandalf must've known I was talking about him, because he just got up from his bed, let out a meow that said "oh, there you are, pet me", to come and sit on my lap. He's so handsome... I'll try to get a picture trail thing up today so ya'll can see him. :)

August - those smoothies sound good! I'm going to have to try spinach in mine too. That would be like, 4 servings of vegetables and fruits in one sitting. Plus all that great protein. Yum! I love multi-tasking.

And I LOVE Nintendo. I love Super Mario 64 or original Super Mario Bros. I'm an old-school Nintendo gal. But I bet the new Nintendo (Wii?) is fun. I'm just too cheap to ever buy anything like that. Working out and playing Nintendo? I bet you'll burn even more calories!

Dana - Ooooh, that is super-creepy. I've had that kinda stuff happen to me before. I swear its my mom trying to communicate with me or something. Its funny cause I really don't believe in that crap at all, but you never know, right? I'm glad that Gannon is feeling spunky today, that's a good sign for sure.:D

Diane - Darn that rain! I find it really hard to work out outside when the weather isn't just perfect. Thus, my affection for workout videos. Honestly, who could EVER work out to a book? I think we've been spoiled by our fun exercise videos, but books really aren't good for exercising to. Good job for even trying!

OK, I'd better get to work. I've got some products to add to our website today. Check out our nonprofit website that my company "Stone Soup" started: www.shopthefrontier.com. We sell art and handcrafted products made by rural artists and artisans from the Northwest where I grew up (and still live). Let me know if you find anything lame. I'm supposed to be in charge of making sure the content is good.

:p Bye!

Hi all. Welcome Terri. Hey, I'm a cardio lover who posts here, just because I really like the company. Besides, most of them don't hate cardio nearly as much as they say they do.

August, That Mr Choco Raisin needs to keep in shape to attract those dust bunnies. Two cups of of spinach in a smoothie is truelly amazing. Is this the Japanese Spinach only you can get, or the spinach we can all find on our grocery shelves?

Dana, I'm glad Gannon is doing better. I'm exhausted just reading what you guys did all morning. I'm with you on the Cardio Fusion workout. It's pretty much what I pull off the shelf if I'm doing cardio anymore.

Arista, cool website. I need to keep it in mind when I need a gift for someone like my SIL. I saw lots of stuff she'd like. I'm eyeing the shaker box myself. My 2 cats don't care for each other. In fact, I don't think I've had a cat since I was a kid that liked any other of our cats.

Diane, I admire how well you are doing with the modified workouts while you're pregnant. Keep up the good work. I like the names you've picked too.

Michele, {{{hugs}}}

I'm planning on doing Low Impact circuit in a little bit. It's been so long since I've done it, I don't really remember what it's like. I guess that could be a good thing, since I don't remember if there are parts in it I didn't like.

Later haters.

Hello fellow haters! Wow, let me first say it took EVERYTHING I had to work out tonight, all I wanted to do was come home & be a blob on the couch. However like a good girl I changed clothes and headed downstairs and did Tamilee Webb Cardio Blast and Beach Body Bun Shaper along with another 10 min bun workout and 200 jumping jacks while I finished watching the end of a food network show!

Tomorrow is my off day as I am going to the dentist at 3:30, YIPPEE an off day!

August-As i sit here drinking yet another kahula diet hot cocoa... you got a problem with it...??? LOL! Just kidding, yeah diet and kahula really don't go together but hey regular hot cocoa has like 125 calories a packet & the diet stuff only has 25 calories... not bad, right?? You better sleep with one eye open Mr. Choco Raisin might just get you in the middle of the night! :)

Dana- Check out beachbody.com-I have the slim series, 2 w/o from Tony's 30 min. collection-thigh blaster & bun shaper and then I have a lot of his Power 90 master series. I have Terri doing the slim series right now, got her to buy them and she seems to like them. They are less cardio than Cathe but it comes high reps/light weight/and light cardio so it's good for my body type which tends to bulk when using heavier weights.

Terri- HI!!!!! I read your post about your thyroid test, SO glad you got that done & finally will get some relief from your hitting a brick wall. I think I need to get mine tested, I've really hit a wall too and have been eating less. My mom has an underactive thyroid and is on medicine so my doctor has always said we need to watch mine.

Michele- Hope you are feeling better and are getting lots of snuggle time with your kitty. I am so happy I now have a kitty that actually likes to cuddle... speaking of which, Sport says hi as he sits here on the computer desk watching the words appear on the screen!

Dana- That is SO CREEPY... you aren't crazy, that is just plain weird.

Arista- Give the cats time, I've only had Sport for a little over a week now & him and Storm are just now starting to not hiss and growl and claw each other, it just takes time, hang in there! So glad you have Gandalf back home!

Robin - You cardio lover you-I wish I could love cardio. UGH!

Well I am starving... I am always hungry, wish I could be one of those people who didn't love to eat too, oh well.

Hope everyone had a wonderful day & Terri so glad you joined us cardio haters... we still have to do it but don't have to like it! :)

Just reporting back that I did not get in a workout. Gannon did not go down for his nap til 2:00 and only slept an hour. He woke up screaming with red cheeks. His temp was 103. It went from 97-103. So it is up in the air as whether or not I'll be going into work tomorrow. I hate staying home - boring!

August - I was thinking that you would probably like the premixes from Cardio Fusion. There is a lot of jumping though (from the drill max drills). I don't know what floor you live on so your neighbors might not like it. Seriously though, you should considering getting it.

Ok, I'm outta here. Nighty-Night all. I know it is only 8:00 but I go to bed early. Yes, I am a dud.
