HATE - Jan 28

August

Cathlete
Hello, you Haters!

I had to speed-walk something to the post office so I used that as my mini-cardio :) , then I came home to do my Gym Style C&T. My arms are jello.

And with all the food I have in stock, I totally forgot to freeze some bananas, so my protein smoothie was a protein froth. It was pretty awful, but man, froth sure does fill you up! LOL.

Michele - HOLY CRUD! That suture WAS poking out your eyeball?!! That is SO awesome!! I happened to read your post at work, so I had to brag about it to my work partner. He yelped out loud and begged me not to tell him anymore about it LOL. Man, Michele, how many people can brag about having stuff pop out of their eyeball like that? I guess it would have been difficult to take a photo of it?...Today was the challenge, wasn't it! I totally forgot! I'm so sorry! And it seems to have gone extremely well! You got high! You got high! What did you do differently from the other times you've done Eli?

Diane - What a bummer about the pressure to tell or not tell. I guess they're just excited for you. Anyway, try not to let it get to you, and tell everyone once you're good and ready to.

Jen - That sucks about feeling sick. Get some rest!...Oh, and tell us what you bought online :) .

Arista - Were you able to pick up Gandalf? What a great name! Where is it from? Oh wait, Michele wrote something about LOTR movies? What's that?..I hear you on getting more workout DVDs. Once you get started on a collection, it will grow way out of hand, so enjoy this time while you still have some space in your house ;) ......Oh, I've just read your post that you weren't able to get Gandalf. Will you have another chance soon? You must miss him!

Robin - Feel better!!!!!!!!! We're sending you get-well vibes!

On that note, I'm off to work. Have a nice Sunday!

Hi August. I'm just stopping in before I head to work. My throat is still raw, so I don't imagine I'll be doing a workout this afternoon.

Michele, I remember learning about a parasite, I think it was called loa-loa. It's a worm that infects the eye. Yuck. That's what your suture story reminded me of.

Diane, don't worry, your friends would have figured it out sooner than later. You didn't actually tell anyone.

Arista, inquiring minds want to know. So, what are LOTR movies?

Gotta get to work. Later.

Hi ladies -

Yesterday I did a 40 min walk and then Buff Moms to Be workout again. I bought some prenatal dvds online the other day that look like they will be a little harder (more intermediate than beg/int). BMTB is just a little to easy, although that is why it is fun to do :)

Today I think I am just going to walk for 40 min around the neighborhood.

Yesterday DH and I bought some picture frames that say "I love my Grandma and Grandpa" and we are going to put our first ultrasound picture in them to give to our parents to tell them we are pregnant. That should be so much fun. I wish we could find one that says "I love my Aunt" for our sisters, but they are sold out online everything I can see.

Well, I will check back in later to see how everyone is doing.

Good morning August, Robin, Diane, and everyone!

August, I'm telling you, you need to download Cardio Coach for your speed walking. A lot of people use CC for walking/running, and it's really the best way to enjoy a donut. --Reading about your smoothies serves as a constant reminder that I need to get a new blender--your smoothies always sound so good, well, except for the green ones--LMAO! --So did you do the whole workout or a premix. YAY for premixes!! --Yes! I got HIGH doing that workout. I can't explain it. I think it was a combination of things; the connection with people around the world that were doing the workout at the same time (this was a fund raiser and everyone was supposed to do it at noon their time), and the inspiring words of encouragement that were laced throughout the workout--I dunno--but man, I now know what it feels like when endorphines are released, and I can see why people would be addicted to whatever causes that to happen.:D

Robin, it really sucks that you had to go to work when you're feeling so rotten:-(. Maybe someone will be kind enough to let you go home early. I'll pray for things to be slow. --LOTR stands for Lord of the Rings. Arista named her kitty after one of the characters in the book.

Diane, I LOVE your idea for the framed ultrasound pictures! Your family will just flip over it. You always think of everything. --Kudos to you for your walking. That's a great way to exercise when you're pregnant. So tell us about these workouts. What kind of exercises do you do?

DH and I are planning to see Letters From Iwo Jima this afternoon. I'm going to try to fit in a little workout first. I can't decide between Jari Love or Cathe's GS. Shelley (allwildgirl) wanted to do a GS challenge today but I don't feel up to doing all 3 GS workouts:eek: . I haven't tried RTTC yet so maybe I'll do that one.

Hello to Dana, Kate, Jana, Jen, Deb, Arista (our population in Hateville is growing:+ )

:* :* :*

Good Sunday mornin' to ya -

Diane - I love that picture frame idea. I wish I could be there to see the looks on their faces! How cool.

Robin and August - where do you guys work that you have to go in on Sunday morning? I used to work Sundays when I worked in restaurants and it was always harder to go in on those days. But I always made more money serving in restaurants than what I'm doing now. I just need patience until I get done with my degree...

And the LOTR movies are the Lord of the Rings movies... you know, the ones with the hobbits: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King. My dad got me started on the books when I was kid (J.R.R.Tolkien is a great writer if you like fantasy/science fiction) and I was totally psyched when the movies came out. They were good, but the books are such a great adventure read.

Yep, I'm a geek through and through. Thus, naming my cat after the good wizard Gandalf in the LOTR movies. :p

And I do miss him; although because we have two male cats (and we just moved into a tiny house where we also have two dogs) we were considering finding a better home for him where he could be outside and not so cramped in here with us. But after seeing how well our other cat, Tiger, took to being inside (and getting tons of love), we think Gandalf will be just fine, especially since he likes to cuddle and sleep even more than Tiger does! We'll be going to get him either Monday or Tuesday this week.

August - I know what you mean about those frothy smoothies... I definitely prefer frozen bananas. Which reminds me, I'd better go throw some in the freezer too! Do you have any favorite fruit combinations for your smoothies? I like to use whey protein powder, frozen banana, orange juice, and frozen strawberries with a touch of vanilla yogurt. They're probably not the lowest in calories, but you're getting three servings of fruit, right? :9 Oh, and I also like to throw some spiruilina and wheat grass powder in them. Just a teaspoon or so.

Alright all, I'd better get to workin' out. I think I'm going to do my Low Max workout.... Ugh, cardio...

Have a great Sunday!

Michelle - I think we posted at the exact same time! I would love to hear about how that movie was, I've been wantng to see it too.

That cardio challenge sounds so cool. Endorphins are a wonderful thing!

OK, time to get off the couch! Maybe I'll do some yoga while my guy is sleeping.

Arista :)

Lord of the Rings - Duh! Of course. We have them, but I haven't seen them yet. I keep telling myself I want to reread the books first. Of course, that will never happen. It's busy here at work, so no chance of leaving early.

I love the picture frame idea. I wish my DD would have done that until of waiting until she was delivering to say "Mom, I think I'm having a baby." You always wonder about these people who had no idea their DD was pregnant. Let me tell you, it can happen!

Gotta get back to work. Arista, I work in a hospital lab which is manned 24/7/365. I have to work every 3rd weekend. It's not so bad. The weekdays I have off are nice.

{{{{{{{{{{ROBIN}}}}}}}}}}, and I believe you when you say it can happen! I really hope you'll just kick back and relax when you get home tonight. You deserve the much needed rest ;):*

Arista, I'll be sure to give a full report of the movie. My DH's undergraduate degree was in modern European history and literature so he's somewhat of an expert on WWI and WWII. He loves just about any book or movie dealing with the topic. --The endorphine high definitely lived up to it's reputation:D .

OMG OMG OMG I forgot to tell you all what I had for dinner last night! DH and I went to one of our favorite restaurants where, without fail, we tend to order the special of the night. Last night it was hanger steak (I had never had it before--I wasn't even sure what it was, but it was very lean, juicy, and delicious) served over a bed of--drum roll please--BARLEY!! Have you EVER seen barley on a restaurant menu!? I never have, except for maybe a few grains in a bowl of soup or something. This was a lovely mound of barley, perfectly cooked, and served like a rice pilaf with diced carrots, and garnished with a few julienned strips of fried leeks. OMG! It was so fantastic and beautiful to look at, too. I raved about it to our server and implored him to tell the chef to leave it on the menu. For dessert--Chocolate Seduction Cake  :9 (DH and I split a piece).

You know, we haven't been talking much about our magical foods lately and I think we really need to start again. Jen and Arista, magical foods = barley and green beans. You should really do a forum search for magical foods or barley or green beans, and you will bring up several of our threads where we discuss them at length :D :9

Okay, time to shower and change. :* :* :*

Hi ladies.

August - I was dying at your post yesterday (I think, or Fri) about the mushrooms. Next time I will remember to chew, chew, chew! LOL Guess what I just did 5 minutes ago? I FINALLY ordered Totally Cool Step from Christi. It is going to ship tomorrow so mabye by Thurs or Fri I will have. Didn't you say that you didn't do that one yet? From what I read, that one is the easiest choreography-wise. I'll let you know how I like it.

Arista - I hope that everything works out and you bring your kitty home this week. I love the name too! Were you able to do some yoga?

Robin - sorry to hear you still aren't feeling 100% and have to be at work. Do you have off tomorrow?

Michele - I'm glad that you loved your challenge. Was this something that you were able to download or was it a one time thing? I have never heard of the movie that you were going to see. What was it about and was it any good?

Diane - I love the idea of the picture frames. Do you know when you will be having your first sonogram? In my area, the hospital doesn't do the 3-D sonograms (unless you are high risk) so up until a few weeks ago, I never saw one. One of my co-workers son and DIL are expecting and they live in MD and their hospital does to the 3D ones and my co-worker broght in the ultra sound pics. It is unbelievable. She was only 12-16 weeks along and you could easily tell that it was a tiny person. You could see HIS eyes, nose, lips. It is such a miracle.

Deb - LOL, yes I am counting down the days til you start your rotation. I will never have the $$ or the time to do P90X, so I will live it through you. LOL I hope that you take before and after pictures and share them with your cardio hating friends.

I forgot to mention that we are having this goofy luncheon at work tomorrow. There are 14 of us in the office so one of my co-workers thought it would be fun to do a "world themed luncheon" - oh joy (insert sarcasm here). So she wrote down 14 countries and everyone had to draw one out of the basket. Well, first I got Ireland and I'm like what the heck am I going to make. I searched the web and saw that they are really big on potatoes. My boss told me that she would trade me b/c her husband is Irish and she has a great recipe for Shepherd's Pie. So now I have France, which is worse then Ireland. Ya know, I really should move to France to lose weight b/c all of their food sounds disgusting to me. Yeah, I can handle the wine and the cheese but that is about it. I absolutely hate eggs. The only things that I will eat that have eggs in them are breads, cakes, cookies, etc. No cream sauces that include eggs, nothing that has fried or hard cooked eggs. GROSS!!! So after much surfing, I found a recipe on frenchfood.about.com for a dip. You use roquefort cheese, heavy cream, orange rind, dijon mustard, oj, vinegar, olive oil and tabasco sauce and serve w/veggies.

Gannon isn't feeling well so who knows if I will even be going to work tomorrow. He has had a fever since Friday night and is miserable. He has been sleeping on the couch for about 2 hours now. He is miserable when he is up and is up on an off the entire night. He had an ear infection about 2 weeks ago and I'm wondering if that is back??? He sounds horrible - keeps coughing and although he is drinking tons, he is not eating. He doesn't really talk yet so he can't tell me what is bothering him.

It is so quiet here right now - for once. DH and Gabe went to Home Depot. I haven't worked out since Monday. I need to get it together!!! I know that I repeat myself constantly about this.

Well, I'm gonna get going. My big plans for today are to go to Wal-Mart!!! I can hardly wait.

Have a great day everyone! :)

Michele we posted at the same time. :p

Sorry but that movie sounds boring!!! LOL My DH would enjoy it though.

Yeah for Barley!!! Hey, next person here (that would be August) to get a pet needs to name it Barley. HAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I took my barley out of the freezer this morning b/c I'm planning to have it every morning for breakfast. Yummo!!!

Hello all, it is so cold here. Right now it is 12 degrees. Have had a somewhat productive day already... went to the grocery store this morning & about froze, it was 7 degrees then. Came home & did Tear It Up from beachbody, felt like I need a w/o that I knew since yesterday's wasn't so great. I did go through the moves of the first 2 step combos on BM2 & have them down. Just need to go through the 3rd one-are the Circuits easy to learn? I haven't been through them either yet, I need to learn it so I can do the w/o!

August-Hope your arms feel better soon, I ended up not buying as much yesterday as planned, I ordered the new kickboxing w/o by Tracey S., i hope I like it. I also ordered pizza from www.pizzafree.com, they are so good and fat free!!!

Robin-Sorry that you had to work when you aren't feeling good, that always makes the day go by so slow. You need to take it easy this evening & not w/o and just curl up on the couch/chair/bed in your PJ's and rest!

Diane -That picture frame idea is so cute! I'm always nosing around on-line at different stores so if I run across any frames for sisters I'll let you know! That is such a great way to tell them, unique and sweet!

Arista- I hope you get Gandalf soon and hope he can adjust to inside life, some cats don't mind not being able to go out while others, like my Storm, would be so miserable if she couldn't go outside. During summer months when it's warm here she usually stays outside all day while I am at work. I am going to try to keep Sport, new kitty, as an inside only cat.

Michele- I love that our population is growing, maybe we should market ourselves on the open discussion board to see if we can snag any others to joing us! That dinner last night sounds wonderful... I am a green bean freak, i will have to do a search for green beans & see what I find!

Dana -I am sorry to hear that Gannon isn't feeling well, I hope he feels better soon and it's not another ear infection. Prayers and hugs for him to get better!

Well the cats still aren't getting along but again it's only been a little over a week, Friday night was one week exactly. Sport is liking Storm more but now Storm is getting more of an attitude. I think in a couple more weeks all should be well. Sport is such a love bug-he follows me around and wants my attention at all times. Like now while trying to type this he has stood in front of the computer monitor so I can't see it, then he gets down on the keyboard tray and lays across my hands and then butts his head up against the hand that I have on the mouse, he thinks I should be petting him w/ that hand, not using it to scroll through this forum! He is so cute though! Storm is so opposite of him, I am glad I finally have a cat that likes to cuddle with me!

Dana, I think Barley is a great idea for a pet name. August needs to get a kitten so she can name it Barley.

Michele, I did relax last night, and will pretty much do the same tonight. It's pizza night, but I'm going to have a salad instead. I've replaced 5 of the 15 pounds I had lost, so I really need to clean up the eating. I do have to make the cake for tomarrow's celebration, (Dana, we are doing chocolate instead of different nations)but baking never seems like work to me. LOL about your dinner of meat and barley. Sounds good though.

Deb, I'll be watching you P90X too. I'm with Dana in not really being able to afford them. Not to mention that they just don't sound like as much fun as Cathe's workouts. Maybe you can change me mind. Or convince me that I'm right.

Hello all! I have been busy today cleaning this house since I didn't get much done yesterday w/ not feeling well. I am almost finished though, thank goodness. I pulled the stove out in the kitchen to clean behind & under it-wow there was a lot of dirt under there! I think that is only the 2nd time I've done that, lived here for 3 years, I think... Need to do under the fridge again also but maybe next weekend!

Oh, wanted to tell you guys that during the week I won't be able to "check in" into evening, around 6:30-7CST, unless I can get my butt out of bed a few minutes earlier so I have time before heading to work, but I doubt that happens-I usually try to be at work about 7:15-7:30 & don't take a lunch & leave around 4. We really aren't supposed to be on-line at work unless it's for work & even though EVERYBODY does it I am not going to take any chances for a while. Not sure if you guys saw in my post from Friday that I guy I work with got fired on Friday... he has been with the company 10years, same as me. They are really on us right now to be driving business in the door since the mortgage business is slow right now. He wasn't doing his share so they got rid of him. Anyway, so I'm not going to chance losing my job over getting on-line while at work-it is a good job and very good money for this area so don't want to mess it up. I feel really bad for the guy they let go.

Well, I may check back later this evening. Hope everyone had a wonderful Sunday!

Hi Ladies -

Jen - Thanks for the link, that is a cute frame. We just bought 2 basic baby frames today at Walmart for our sisters since we couldn't find aunt frames. They have little footprints on them and are very cute. I can't wait to tell everyone in a couple weeks!

Here are the links to the prenatal videos I bought:

This one has salsa cardio and yoga inspired toning and has been reviewed as the best prenatal video of all time on amazon and collage video

http://www.amazon.com/Leisa-Harts-F...pd_bbs_sr_1/002-5311038-1314434?ie=UTF8&s=dvd

This one looks more difficult and is all toning. The girl in it is a Cirque du Soleil acrobat that is 7 months pregnant and in incredible shape. Check out the pictures of her under the video picture. This one had great reviews as well.

http://www.amazon.com/Perfect-Pregn...KJ5E/ref=pd_bxgy_d_text_b/002-5311038-1314434

I also got one yoga dvd for those days I needed some stretching and relaxing.

http://www.amazon.com/Prenatal-Yoga...NMH/ref=pd_sxp_grid_i_1_1/002-5311038-1314434

Today was a good day. We went to a Sunday school class of a church we are visiting and met a lot of really nice people and went out to lunch with them. A lot of the people had kids and it was very overwhelming seeing all the kids at lunch now that I realize I will have one soon.

Good evening all.

Diane, you will be amazed at all the kids you notice now. And every woman you see will be pregant. You never notice them when you aren't.

Jen, LOL about only ever cleaning behind and under your stove twice in three years. I've been in my house going on 24 years. Nope, never cleaned behind or under the stove. Maybe once behind the frig. I understand about fear at work. Be careful and we'll be patient to hear from you in the evening.

Well, as planned, I skipped working out again, and took it easy this evening. I think I'm beginning to feel better too. Hopefully I'll manage to get a workout done tomarrow. I can't wait.

Hope you all have a great night. See you tomarrow, haters.

good evening gals,

I wasn't able to get any yoga in today, but I did go for a 20 minute run and then I did this 20 minutes cardio boot camp tape. It's a Denise Austin tape that my fiance got for me (he meant well), but she's so annoying! Especially on this tape. Oh well, its the only tape I can do while my fiance is sleeping. We have a very small house and even a STEP workout is too loud!

Dana - I'm sorry to hear about Gannon. I hate it when my little ones (my animals) are under the weather. We have a husky who loves to eat things that make her puke. I hope he feels better soon!

Robin - mmmm, chocolate cake. Whenever I make that, forget about counting calories. I can't resist it!

Michele - Hmmm, barley and beans. That sounds like great winter-time food. I'm going to make a soup tomorrow, I'll have to put barley in it! I can't say that i care much for WWI or WWII movies. They tend to depress the heck out of me. But sometimes those kinds of movies are the most powerful ones.

So what is P90X? I don't think I'm familiar with it.

Jen - Its cold here too, and its easy to keep cats indoors now. But I am concerned about summertime, because I'm sure they'll really want to go outside then. We may decide to let them go outside at that point, but so many of my cats have been hit on the road (I used to live near a fairly busy highway when I was younger), that I really don't want to chance it. And I know what you mean about having cats that snuggle you! My cat Gandalf is really snuggly (he loves to lay right on top of me and head-but my face while I'm sleeping) most of the time and that's part of the reason I miss him so much! He loves to sleep and snuggle.

That's too bad that a 10-year employee got fired! That's why I promised myself I'd never work (for any long period of time) in a sales-oriented atmosphere. I'm a horrible salesperson! You've been there 10 years? Wow. You go girl! You're smart not to mess it up... What exactly is it that you do?

Diane - Kids sound very overwhelming to me! I've never really wanted to have kids until recently. I started imagining my life without a family and decided I wanted one, sooner or later. But I'm still terrified! But I know that I would still be way excited to become pregnant, even if it wasn't planned. I'm so excited for you! At least you're only having one. :D

Alright, back to the grind of schoolwork. I might do a weight lifting workout this evening, maybe Cathe's Push/Pull (which I have on VHS... ha ha! - I recorded it off FitTV). I'm a cheapskate at heart.

Have a great night girls!

Diane- You will have to let us know what the parents & sisters say/do when you give them the gifts w/ the news!!

Robin- Yeah, I have been called obsessed when it comes to my cleaning habits, I'm a neat freak! I was going to get a cleaning lady but after thinking about it probably wouldn't be to my standard and I'd end up cleaning anyway!

Arista- Yeah, I feel so bad for the guy. I wouldn't know what to do if I got fired. He is terrible at saving money too & has a wife who only works part time and two kids. Sales jobs are always hard & you never know. I have been very smart with my money though and saving a lot & have been making double house payments since I bought this house and have enough saved up I could pay it off if needed. It is not a huge or new house though but have updated almost all of it. I also paid of my Jeep loan last year also so the only bills I really have are my monthly bills so at least I'd be "okay" until I found another job. Most people that do what I do over spend and have ti have the big house, new cars, etc...
I do sales, I'm an account executive for Wells Fargo. I work w/ mortgage brokers-the people that go to them to get a house they come to me for the financing of the home. I am considered "inside sales" though so i work in the building and am on the phone/e-mail all day talking to brokers. I have clients all over the US, a couple in GA, PA, IL, OH, UT, MI, and then most of mine are in CA, which is good because higher loan amounts means more money for me on each sale.

Well, better finish up doing a couple things then get ready to hit the bed-I always have such a hard time getting up on Monday. Well, I will be back tomorrow evening. :)
