HATE - Feb 3

August

Cathlete
Morning!

I took Dana's advice and pulled out my Core Max. I did the ball one and did supermen whenever there was anything remotely like plank work. :) I followed it with 30 minutes of lovely cardio.

So do I need to force myself to do planks?

No, I didn't think so either.

Diane - That sucks about the food thing. They should have let you order in something special. And there would be the order minimum anyway, so you would have had to order for two! Oh well. That's awful that they forgot your order, and worse that they didn't do something about it when you asked.

Michele - I would love to see how many DVDs you own. And then I'd love to compare them to how many of them you've actually opened! LOL! Do you have a favorite?...I have a friend who despises green peppers. When we were in high school he'd come to my house to hang out, and if my mom had been cooking anything in the last couple days with green pepper, he could totally tell, and he'd scrunch up his face when I opened the front door.

>I demand to know--ROTFLMAO!!

Don't know what you're talkin about....:*

I am so not the dancer - I can't imagine what on earth could attract me so much to Christi's routines. Maybe it's that I really actually do hate cardio as much as I thought I hated it, and that all the work I do to concentrate on not falling down during Christi's dance moves makes me forget?

Dana - Woo hoo! Your Christi arrived! Don't be scared. It's going to be good. Deep breaths. Look at her feet. Don't move your arms. Feet. Feet. Concentrate on feet. Don't look at her face. Don't look at her background dancers. Feet. Look at her feet.

>And the peach chicken was pretty gross.

LMAO!

I love your honesty. I'd been wondered why you hadn't mentioned it. Oh well. It sure was an adventurous try. You passed on pizza. You are good. LOL about the Xmas tree. And LOL about cute little Gabe. Just remember that everything appears out of proportion from his pint-sized point of view.

Robin - Glad your Groundhog Day party was a success. The meal sounded really good! Especially the cherry pie AND cupcakes part!...Ah, mute the computer to not listen to the song. The only problem with that is that it would leave me concentrating on working out LOL.

Terri - So cute about your cat smelling the flower on the plastic curtain in the bathroom. I wonder how long the curtain will stay up! Or rather, stay one piece LOL...I do music in Tokyo. It's a lot of fun. I know I do music but don't like to dance and that that is probably a little weird. But I really don't dance.

>I'm wearing black so everything shrinks.

LOL!

Jen - I'm reading Complete Kitty Care and then after that I plan to read Think Like A Cat. It's so cute just reading them!...I stored my first Christi for two years before I actually got around to trying it out LOL. Then when I pulled it out, watch out! I love that woman.

Arista - That's great that you found some nice glasses. I don't wear glasses but when I see my friends in new glasses, it's like a new haircut - like an image change.

>you might have heavy arms... compared to what? Your fingers?

LMAO!

Christi was selling her DVDs pretty cheaply recently, they may still be really cheap on her site. As for which ones are the most complex? Hmm. When I happen to put in ones that are too complicated for me, I calmly turn them off and reassure myself that I'll be able to do them a few months from now, and then put in an easier Christi,...so I'm not sure which ones are the challenging ones! Robin, any ideas?

Okay, my weekend plans are.....work. :) But that's all right since I love it, and I'm in my pajamas. Have a fun one!

>>And finally, what goes on first..... bra or underwear? You're supposed to wear these??

I see London, I see France, but I DON'T see Jen in her underpants:p ROTFLMAO!!!

Y'all need to check out the thread in the OD forum titled, Limecat's Fun and Frivolous Friday Question. That's where I found this ^^^ gem:7

Hey August! I'm getting ready for bed but I just thought I'd poke my head in here for a minute first.

Hmmmmm...how many DVD's do I own vs how many I've actually opened...well, I've never opened Mindy Mylrea's gliding workout...that's the only one I can think of off the top of my head but I'll double check and report back tomorrow. LMAO!

Yes!! I DO have a favorite. All of Cathe's Gym Style workouts. YAY YAY YAY for the GS workouts!!!!!

You're reading kitty books:+

Terri, I WANT YOUR JOB!!! Seriously, that looks like so much fun. I would probably suck at it but I would still have fun doing it. I love decoratory stuff. I sought help from an interior decorator when I was buying furniture and window treatments for my living room and it was such a treat. It would be so much fun to spend other people's money:7 :p

Arista, I love your pictures!!! You're lovely and your babies are soooo cute. Gandalf looks like my Johnny:+ .

To relieve the pressure on your wrists, try doing push ups with your hands grasping a pair of dumbbells instead of placing your palms flat on the floor. I tried to find a picture online but I couldn't.

Oh my, it's way past my bedtime and I must turn in. I'm doing that wild and crazy Cardio Coach workout again in the morning:)

G'night...I'll see you later:* :* :*

OMG! I'm a dork! Arista, I had your photos page opened up in my computer and they've been open all this time and I just realized after reading Michele's post that I hadn't looked at them!

OMG! I want your kitties and doggie!!

And you're a total cutie, too. But I wouldn't want to take you away from Ryan. :) What great photos!

So Michele - Gym Style is your fave! Deb, you still doing those Gym Style in your rotation or have you successfully gotten into P90X?

I have a horrible time doing push ups grasping the dumbbells. I get a major palm ache! You could also do push ups on your fists. Or not do them at all. Not doing them at all will take all the pressure off of every part of your hand. And other places, too.

Have a good sleep, Michele!

Goodmorning! I'm checking in before we leave for the Finger Lakes. The most complex coreography I'll be doing today will be walking after all the wine tasting.

August, I always thought Christie's Step Heaven was the most complex and the most fun. I like Solid Gold Step too, but I don't thinks it's as much of a workout.

Terri, I saw the photo of you and my jaw dropped. You are drop dead gorgeous woman. I think I'll go delete my picture trail.

Arista, ditto! You and Ryan are adorable. I want an invite to the wedding. I love the "old homestead." And the animals. Hmmmm, I think I want to be you.

Michele, I hope you enjoy your workout today as much as you did the first time. I'll be thinking of you and Tammy and Judy.

Diane, Dana and any other haters, have a wonderful Sat. Check back with you all on Sunday evening.

Morning haters!

((Terri, I saw the photo of you and my jaw dropped. You are drop dead gorgeous woman. I think I'll go delete my picture trail.)) Robin you are too funny!!!! I agree though, Terri is beautiful. Oh the roads were horrible coming home from work yesterday. I thought I was going to pee my pants I was so nervous. I've got some major hills on my travel home and during regular weather I never even notice them, but they take on a whole new light when the weather is bad. I am normally home from work at 4:15, I didn't get home until 4:45. I was so scared. I thanked the good Lord when I pulled in my driveway. Did you ever go to the ground hog day party in Punxatawny? I was listening to it on the radio yesterday - 15,000 people were there. Amazing. Oh, and the chocolate festival is today in Lewisburg, I am not going, but it is $15. Lewisburg is also having an ice sculpture festival. I saw some of them on the news this morning. Wow - the talent that some people have. Last I looked outside on the thermometer is was only 18 degrees. No way am I going out in that cold to look at ice. Ha!

Arista - you are so pretty. I don't know what you are referring to when you say you need to lose 20lbs. Does Ryan sell the birdhouses that he makes? They are pretty neat. Your kitties and dogs are so cute. I used to have a kitty named Malaki who looked like Tigger. The scenery at the homestead is beautiful. What month were they taken? Looks like late summer???

August - did you enjoy the coremax? My fave on that DVD is #3 w/the med ball. I'm really hoping that I can try my new DVD tonight then I'll give you a full report. How can you not dance when you are singing? I bet you are lying to us b/c you are very talented. Next time, put your step on stage and start doing some Christi moves. Although you will probably get a lot of odd looks. Have a great time tonight at work!

Michele - did you do your CC workout? I just printed out your barley and chicken recipe. I figure that I can make it and just divide it up for my lunch. My DH probably wouldn't eat it. How many servings does it make? Also, do you know what the purpose of adding the milk is? You said you omitted it and it tasted great. I think that melted mozarella cheese would be good with it. Sorry to hear that the movie was depressing. Did your DH enjoy it? Believe it or not, I've never watched a movie w/subtitles. Are you doing anything fun this weekend?

Diane - how'd you do last night w/dinner? How are you feeling? When did you say your first appt was? Remember when you said you went to that bead party over the summer? My mom was invited to one. She isn't going though. She said it is $20?????? I told her that you went and your project turned out really nice. She should go just to get out but I guess she doesn't want to spend the money.

Nothing at all going on here. My house is a mess and I've got to clean it but Gannon will NOT take a nap. He is Mr. High Maintenance so I can't get anything done while he is awake. Gabe has a project for school. We need to make something for the 100th day of school. We have 100 nuts (like nuts and bolts) and we are going to trace 10 wrenches and glue 10 nuts on each wrench. I have to go to Wal-Mart today or tomorrow to get construction paper. I hate going to Wal-Mart.

I talked to my mom this morning and asked her if she would babysit on Feb 17th b/c DH and I are going to a racing banquet and she's like, well I can watch one of them. What the heck is up with that? She is always saying she can only handle one of my boys. I have to call DH's step mom and see if she can. At least she will watch both of them.

Hi Jen, Terry, Deb, Jana and Kate. What is going on with all of you today? Have a fun Saturday everyone!

Good Saturday morning everyone -

Michele - I should've mentioned that I do use dumbbells now when I'm doing pushups. It definitely works better, but I guess I'm just stubborn. I want my wrists to be healthy and I want to regular pushups!! I'm whining, I know. And I have done them on my fists too, which isn't bad either. Ok, I'll stop whining now. August, I like your idea! Not doing pushups at all. Really, I've always hated pushups, I just want to be able to do them so I can pretend to be as strong as Cathe.

Hmm, I'll have to try that gym style workout series. Does it require any special equipment (besides step, dumbbells, and weighted bar?)

Robin - "The most complex coreography I'll be doing today will be walking after all the wine tasting." LMAO!! Sounds like you'll be having a fun weekend! Can't wait to hear about it. Where are the Finger Lakes?? Sorry, I'm horrible at geography. Yep, you're right, that photo of "the homestead" was taken in late summer/early fall. Even though "the homestead" is only on 2 acres, its just gorgeous. It backs up against state forest land and is right across the road from a winding little river. Its a pretty magical place, except that there are NO jobs in the area. So unless you're independently wealthy or live off the land, life kinda blows. Thus, our move to the city.

Dana - Thanks for your compliments. That's honestly the best photo I've ever seen of myself (I spent way too much time on my hair that day!) so I use it all the time! ha,ha That vineyard is located in northeastern Washington, which is where I grew up. Its amazing they can grow grapes there because its not overly warm. And believe me, I do have 20 pounds to lose. Its easy when you're covered up in a flowy top and huge skirt to hide it though! :p

Hey, since that chocolate festival is today (and I'm not anywhere near Lewisburg), I think I'll have my own little chocolate festival right here in Spokane. Its off to the grocery store I go! We need to go food shopping anyway... }(

That is too funny about your mom only watching one of your kids. Well, you said it yourself, Gannon is High Maintenance. LMAO!!

OK, I think I better get some work done, or I'll be broke when the end of the month rolls around. Have a great day girls. BBL

Oh wait! I wanted to ask Diane what ETL is?? (I think that abbreviation is the right one). I think that you mentioned it a day or two ago... does it have something to do with your eating habits?? I need info! :D

Hello all, done working out. I did Kick Max w/ blast challenge first, then kicking/punching combos, then leg work-you should all try doing this w/o like that, I think it makes it much better. I am going to be a bum for the rest of the day-will get some cleaning around the house done but I am worn out from this past week. Plus it is a good day to stay in, the high here today is 14 and with the wind chill they said that the feel like temp could get down to -20!

Arista- Your pictures are great, thanks for posting. Don't rush the marriage or kids thing, especially if you aren't 100%. Don't by any means do it just because it seems like everyone else is, everyone is different. I am going to be 30 this year & I'm not sure I'll want kids and there is nothing wrong with that! Do you have a crock pot, I find that using it you can create some really good dinners w/o much work, if you do I can post a few of the chicken dishes i do in the crock pot that I like. I do like my job 90% of the time, things are just really stressful right now so I enjoy my weekends a lot! I by no means am doing what I'd love to do (i'd like to become a personal trainer some day) but I love the people I work with and do enjoy what I do and the money is great so I'm going to stick with it as long as I can!

August- That Think Like a Cat book sounds interesting, I may just have to get it! That has to be awesome that you can work in your pajamas, I am jealous!!

Michele- You saw that post, huh?? LOL!! How was the cardio coach workout? As fun as last weekend?

Robin- Hope you have an awesome time at Finger Lakes!

Dana- Glad you made it home safe! Have you asked your mom why she feels like she can only handle one? I mean it is just an evening, right? I could maybe understand if it was a whole weekend or week or something like that but a few hours??

Terri- Have you attempted Cindy's w/o yet?

Deb- Hello, hope you have a great weekend.

Hello to anyone else I may have missed! Going to get some lunch now!

HI again -

Jen - I don't have a crock pot, I just recently gave it away cause I never used it! Darn, I should've known to keep it.

I hear you about the job thing. I'm not doing what I want to be doing yet either. And if I was completely honest about what I really want to do, its not what I'm going to school for (computer science). But I find the internet fascinating and enjoy working with it, so what the heck? It will be good money too. I'd really love to have my own organic farm someday... I need money to buy the farm first though!! And I need a backup plan for when I can't farm. Thus, computers.

You should go get your personal training license and take on a few clients on the side. Heck, if I was where you are, I'd hire ya! You're buff, and people will want to be your cient!

I took the fitness instructors licensing a few years back (but never used it), and it wasn't too difficult.

And, yes, I completely agree with you. I'm not sure that I want to have kids ever either. For the longest time, I thought for sure I didn't want to. And now that I'm almost thirty too, I wonder if I'll regret it if I don't. I like the idea of being surrounded by my family as I grow older. But on the other hand, I really don't like kids that much. But I wonder if its because I take myself and my life too seriously. And I don't want that.

OK, enough philosophy, back to work.

BBL - better go take the dogs for a walk before they disown me.

Arista - You should get a new crockpot, you can make so many things in it and it's so easy. I think you said you work from home so you could keep an eye on it during day and stir a few times, if I'm cooking something for like 6-7 hours I usually stir a couple times. Recently my favorites have been chicken & salsa-yep, that's it throw in the crockpot and cook on low for 7-8 hours. I usually add a little fat free shredded cheese and fat free sour cream the last 30 minutes of cooking and then eat in a wrap, yum! I also really liked the one I did a couple weeks ago-chicken, rice, water, can of cheddar cheese soup, and salsa-I also put them it in a wrap to eat.

Sounds like you have similar plan to me-make as much money as you can now & save, save, save so one of these days I can really do what I want to do. The organic farm sounds like a lot of fun.

I would probably have already got certified if I lived in area where fitness was popular or lots of people care what they look like-like in CA! I live in central IL so there really isn't much of a market here for personal trainers. I know if I ever want to persue that I would have to move somewhere that I could make a decent living.

I am so with you on the kids, don't get me wrong I like my friends kids & other peoples kids but don't think I'd like having them around all the time. I know what you mean about having kids as you grow older, usually it's the kids that take care of parents as they age & can't take care of themselves. However, I figure if I don't have kids I'll be able to save a lot of money that would've been spent on them and be able to hire a live in nurse or something of that nature when I get old! My grandma had that for the last 3-4 years of her life, my mom is an only child and was getting ready to move her in with her when she died. My grandma was like a 2nd mom to me, she was always around. My grandpa died when my mom was 12 and grandma never remarried, when she died she was still wearing her wedding ring, she was 89 when she died. I was holding her hand in the hospital when she took her last breath, she was ready to go though and lived an amazing happy life.

So, did you get the dogs walked? You are in WA, right? Is it cold there? Right now it is 12 degrees w/o the wind chill, not sure what it is with the wind but it's way too cold!

Good evening, Everyone!
It's been a busy Saturday. Kids, basketball, birthday parties, etc. This is the first time I've had a chance to really sit down. BTW, it's flippin' COLD here! The high for the day was -7 degrees with wind chills in -30 to -40. Tonight's low, -17. I've been cold all day long.

August - I've only done Core Max a few times and never with the stability ball. And I really hate plank work. I'm such a weakling I just can't do them very well. Does anyone else's wrist hurt with the angel-like planks? Maybe losing 15 lbs. would help alleviate the problem, eh? So, you're in the music industry? Can you help answer a question another poster and I have? We both love the song in LIC, Step Blast #1. I've searched and searched and asked a couple of DJ's as well as the guy from Big Beat Music. Don't have an answer yet. I will not give up searching...

Can you all let me in on the Christi secret? Who is she? Or have I asked this before and someone already answered? My brain is frozen, literally, it's so cold here.

Joey, the cat, better not ruin the shower curtain - it was expensive! He loves to pick on Deuce, the 100 lb. German Shepard that's our big baby!

Arista, I had to laugh at your pictures of Sky on your bed. Deuce seems to think he can lay up there uninvited. He is such a big baby. Here's a picture of him http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r54/deuce6788/PA090188.jpg You are such a yougin'!! I love wine from Washington. My favorite is from the Columbia Valley. Chateau Ste. Michelle - love it! BTW, you must be a Lord of Rings fan? I think they're my all time favorite movies. I just love Aragon when he tells the living dead, "You will suffer me..." Oh, yes, baby, talk dirty to me! I'll do whatever you want!

Michele - I see London, I see France...LOL!! You and Jen need to compare how many workout DVD's you all have.

Robin, you have a great sense of humor - thank you for the compliment. Do you have a favorite wine? Solid Gold Step - is this a disco variation? Big hair and spandex?

Dana - ditto on Wal Mart. I avoid going there at all costs. Cute idea on the 100 days of school. Sometimes moms are like that, aren't they? WTH? Don't take any if you can't take both. How does that make her grandkids feel?

Jen - I'll try that KM variation this week. I did Cindy today and Thigh Trimmer. Cindy kicked my b&*^! I haven't jumped rope since I was a kid. Sure didn't feel like a kid, though.

It's date night for DH and me. Basically, it's getting pj's on, turning on the fireplace and watching a movie. Maybe it'll be LOTR.
:)

Keep warm, everyone!
Terri
