HATE - Feb 11

August

Cathlete
Hi, guys,

I'm just washing up and settling down to go to bed.

I had a nice Sunday hanging out with Mom!

Tomorrow I've got to leave on the early side, so I'm counting on someone to start the thread. LOL. ;)

Jen -

>How can you be late for work when you work from home?!?!?

Very funny, smarty pants :) . I work half of the time at home, and half the time out. Don't worry, I wasn't late to walk three steps into my workroom to work by myself. I would never be late for that because my boss would be on me (uh, that would be me, that is).

>3 times longer than his body

OMG, that is so cute.

>out of the wrapper, into the oven, and dinner is served

LMAO. We need to find some chefs (husbands who cook/Haters with cooking skills : Michele, Robin, Dana hint hint)....That's so great that you were able to figure out that hot water trick. Going once a week is no good, no good at all! That must have been horrible! I imagine it would feel really awful not going once a day, let alone an entire week.

Mariah - Wait a minute. You do Boot Camp in SWEATS?! OMG! Do you not pass out from heat?

>I would look for extra things to wash, so that i could experience the high from having MY OWN washing machine LOL Sounds like the Clampetts

LMAO!

Terri - Congratulations on your DD's first boyfriend! So what do you think of him? Is he worthy? Is he respectable and heading in a good direction in life? LOL.

>But you have to have a sweet tooth.

I've got the sweet tooth, it's the chef and the oven that I don't have! Ooh, those recipes sound good! I might be able to do that Yamcake one, but I'll have to look around for WW pancake mix here in Tokyo.

Those lyrics Mariah posted weren't to the same song? Oh, what a bummer since those are the lyrics I used to try to find your song (since there were more "key" words)! Whoops.

Arista - Woo hoo on getting your stuff done and have NOTHINGNESS ahead! So what did you end up doing? Or what did you end up not doing? LOL.

All right. I'm going to wash my face now. :D

I still have 1 minute to wish you all a good morning--lol!

Busy today, very busy. DH and I just finished brunch and now we're trying to organize our day. He's getting a massage and then we're probably going to my in laws. I think we're going to fix dinner for them tonight. Anyway, I just wanted to pop in to say hello but I need to sign out because I have things to do today before we go to mom and pops. have a good one and I'll see you later:*

Good morning all!

August - Don't you love working from home...? I'm never late to work anymore!! lol It's probably not a good thing, because someday soon I will have a real job. darn

Wow - I just got up and you're already going to bed... For some reason I still marvel at the different time zones. Momma always said I wasn' that smart... Life is like a box of chocolates...

Just kidding, I was one away from salutatorian at my school... but I still feel like I never caught up on my street smarts. Plus, I haven't done much traveling. The only other country I've been too is Canada, and that's only because I used to live 8 miles from the border!!

speaking of chocolates, I think I better sneak out this morning before Ryan wakes up to get something for Valentines Day. I'm at a loss... what do you get a guy for valentines day (who doesn't really like sweets)? (besides the obvious - sex) ha ha

Maybe I'll make him a nice meal. In fact, this new foodfit.com website that I've been using for a meal plan to lose weight has some really tasty recipes on it. Like pepper crusted pork tenderloin with red currant sauce...

I hope you have a good busy day Michele. Why aren't you the one getting that massage???

Good morning to everyone else...BBL :*

Good afternoon all. I decided to be productive before I'd let myself on the computer this morning... so I went to grocery store, ran a few other errands, chopped down 2 HUGE limbs that were destroyed during the last ice storm (between tornados & ice storms last year I lost 4 trees in all), got my tax stuff ready to tax to tax guy this week, cleaned the inside of the fridge, and did Drill Max, original version.

Now I am starving, imagine that and going to figure out something for lunch here real soon.

Terri- Those yamcakes sound really good, I think I may have to give that a try sometime. So, does your DH know about the boyfriend yet?
What is the temp there today? It is actually 30 right now but they are calling for snow tonight & tomorrow, I hope they are wrong!

August-:p Yeah, that was a smart *ss comment! The only problem with finding a husband that actually knows how to cook would be that I'd want to eat all his home cooking and be HUGE! I am actually glad half the time that I can't cook so i'm not tempted to make unhealty things... LOL! Yes, back when I could only go once a week it was horrible. I'd be doubled over on the floor for like 30 minutes before I could finally go too, normally it would wake me up in middle of night, I am so glad those days are gone.

Mariah- I wanted to know the same thing as August... how in the heck can you w/o in sweatpants??? I would die! I work out in skimpy shorts and a sports bra, that is it. Or as one of the guys from my office calls my short a belt b/c they are so skimpy...I left my cell phone at work one day & he brought it by to me & I was in w/o clothes, I probably shouldn't walk outside my house dressed like that but oh well.

Michele- What did you have at brunch? I love pancakes, they are my downfall. I will every once in a while make some here at home, I use the mix that you just add water too and I found a syrup that is only 15 calories per 1/4 cup so that isn't too bad. What are you going to make for the inlaws tonight?

Arista- Here are a few dishes I like to make:

Corn pudding (great for holidays/gatherings):

1 small Jiffy corn muffing mix
1 can cream style corn
1 can whole kernal corn
1 stick melted margarine(I use promise fat free or I can't believe it's not butter fat free)
8 oz. sour cream (i use Daisy fat free)
1 egg (egg beaters)
1 tsp. salt
Mix all together and bake @ 350 for 1 hour, sometimes I bake up to 1 1/2 hour.
I bake in a glass pyrex dish - 9 by 7 by 2.5

Chicken Broccoli:

4 whole boneless/skinless chicken breats
2 16oz packages frozen broccoli

Mix following all together in bowl (sauce):
3/4 cup mayonaise (i always use fat free-Kraft or Miracle Whip)
2 cans cream of chicken soup(I use 98% fat free)
2 tsp. lemon juice
1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese (I use fat free)

Boil or bake chicken
Precook broccoli as per directions on bag

Spray 9 by 13 inch pan with Pam
Spread all broccoli on bottom of pan
Place chicken over broccoli (I like to shred the chicken if serving for family, for party might be more formal to leave chicken whole)
Put sauce from above over chicken

Bake @ 350 for 30 min, take out & add cheese & bake for additional 10 minutes.

It is REALLY good!

Chicken wraps:
boneless/skinless chicken baked in oven or grilled
I marinade in KC Masterpiece Honey Teriyaki w/ sesame overnight the night before I cook - this sauce is SOOO good if you like stuff like this, i am addicted to it!!!

I eat over rice or in a wrap -can you tell I'm a wrap girl??? I don't remember the last time I had bread in the house, just goes to waste.

Diane, Dana, Robin- Hope you are all having a great Sunday. Robin how was visit w/ DS?

Okay, going to grab something to eat BBL.

OK, Be honest Jen... was your fridge really that dirty?? lol

Those recipes sound great Jen!! And I just remembered that I have this countertop convection over thingy that would be just perfect for making carrots, broccoli, and chicken into some tasty stuff. Or even a whole roast chicken for my fiance and I.

It is raining like cats and dogs here, and I really wanted to go for a run. but now that yearning has passed, so I think I'll wait till it stops raining and hope I can muster up the energy to run. If not, I'll do High-Step Challenge. I was pretty sore from my workouts this week, but now I'm not, so time to get back in it.

I'm with you guys... Unless I'm doing yoga, or walking/running in the middle of the winter, I can't wear sweats when working out.

I had a bit of a revelation last night... I think I sabotage my diet because I secretly hate my body. So I decided to start loving my body instead and see what happens. I'm just tired of the roller coaster of love/hate with it. Not like, "oh, I just love those rolls on my tummy when I sit down"... more of an appreciation for my body (which has really never let me down). Being strong and healthy is more important than being fat-free (although it doesn't always seem like it).

I just know for a fact that my negative attitude towards my body prevents me from wanting to put on little shorts and workout, and instead makes me want to feel sorry for myself and curl up on the couch. We'll see how it goes. Couldn't hurt, right? Plus, when I think back on my weight ups and downs, the only time I've really lost weight and kept if off was when I wasn't obsessing over every last centimeter of fat, and just enjoying my life.

Enough about me... how is everyone?? Hope you guys are all enjoying the weekend. I'm going to go major food shopping today and get some great recipe ingredients for the next week. I'm actually going to cook! (I used to like to cook, but since my life got busy, I stopped.... but you can only eat so many bean quesadillas and egg and turkey bacon wraps before enough is enough!!)

:( :p

August

feel free to post more from the song you are trying to find and ill continue to search
i kind of did it from memory before so tell me again

<Not like, "oh, I just love those rolls on my tummy when I sit down"... more of an appreciation for my body (which has really never let me down). >

When I look in the mirror I really hate what I see, some people say "But look around you there are many people heavier then you, you do not look that bad"
Well i dont want to compare myself to people heavier then me, but I also dont want to compare myself to people way lighter then me, if i dont have the same body type
Instead Im happy comparing me to who and what I know I can be. And have been in the past
I want to remember tuck in blouses and short skirts

Sweats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yup
first of all i hate being cold at all... and often sweating from exercise is totally different from sweating from heat
I live in Florida, we are having a bit of a chill right now (and please dont ask me to torture you all by saying how "cold" it is. but when i exersize im in my florida room and it gets really cool when its coool out So the sweats and a tee shirt are great... I used to exersize in a bra top also but i really cant stand to look at me like that now

That chicken sounds good !!!

Living alone i tend to just make something that can be thrown on the grill or a frying pan and rarely "cook" when i was still married and had 3 kids and usually 6 guests for dinner i cooked every night even made my own bread.. But those days are long gone, unless i find myself a nice man who likes to workout also and then we can eat heavenly food again and then exercise it off
LOL

Hello all.

Arista- Okay, no the fridge wasn't that dirty but I didn't much time on it at all, really just pulled stuff out, used 409 & paper towel and was done in like 15 min. so it wasn't a huge cleaning job! I am with you on the being hard on yourself about your body-I am terrible actually so I am no help for you there, I'd probably do more harm than good! I know I shouldn't be so hard on myself but easier said than done. I even get frustrated when I build too much muscle and my thighs look bigger b/c of the muscle-to me it is just as bad as having excess fat. Okay, enough about that! The chicken broccoli dish is so yummy & easy to do, you have to try it sometime, it was my favorite dish growing up.

Mariah- Yeah, you Florida & California people "*itch" when it gets down to 60 degrees out...LOL! Only giving you a hard time, I know it is all in what the body is used to.

Okay, I've been posting my w/o each Sunday so here goes this week:

Monday- Cindy Whitmarsh Ultimate Fat Burner or Firm It Up
Tuesday- B&G - Leg Blast Premix w/ floor work added on
Wednesday-off night
Thursday- IMAX w/ 20 minutes floor thigh/glute work of some sort
Friday- Cindy Whitmarsh or Firm It Up, whichever didn't do Monday
Saturday- Drill Max, Cardio/Leg Premix
Sunday- Powerstrike 1 w/ Abs from KPC

I think that looks good, I kinda want to do High Step Training b/c I haven't done it forever but really have to watch that high step... I may sub it in for IMAX but if not I'll add to next weeks rotation. I have so many flippin w/o it is so hard to choose!

Okay, BBL.
How was everyones Sunday?

yeah, its funny. Because even if I did get down to my goal weight, I'd probably just want my feet to be smaller or my fingers longer, or something stupid like that. So I've decided to give myself a break. It will make doing everything (including eating light and working out), that much easier!

And I definitely will do that chicken and broccoli dish. Those are two of my favorite things to eat anyway!

The fiance and I are going out for appetizers and drinks tonight. I think I'll try to just get a salad with some chicken on it or something. But if they have calamari, I don't know if I can resist. Everything in moderation, right?? Its so funny that they call squid calamari when its eaten as food. It definitely does sound better than squid!

Mariah - I hear you. I do less and less of comparing myself to other women and more of just wanting to be at my ideal weight where I feel comfortable in my body. We were there once... we can get there again!!

I like the idea of posting workouts, so I'm going to do that too. it will help me plan...

Monday - running with dogs (if raining - Low Max)
Tuesday - Timesaver Workout #2 with all weight training from DVD
Wednesday - Walking/running with dogs
Thursday - High Step Training
Friday - yoga/rest
Saturday - running with dogs
Sunday - walking and yoga

Its funny that you mentioned High Step Training Jen, because I just attempted that one this afternoon and only got through the first two sections before deciding to finish my workout walking the dogs. :( Working out in the afternoon is so much more difficult than working out in the morning for me. I don't see how you can do an evening workout after working all day! Yuck.

OK, I'm going to try to finish knitting this hat for Ryan before he gets home. Have a great night girls!

Hey Arista- Sounds like we are in the same boat w/ being hard on ourselves & I've seen your pictures & you are beautiful and in shape so you should be proud of that but again, I know exactly where you are coming from.

Yes, the chicken/broccoli is so yum! The corn casserole is really good too but I usually only make it on holidays or get togethers since it is just me here but depending on Ryan's appetite you may be able to get through it before getting sick of it!

Your workouts sound good. So, I know you said you were saving up for another Cathe w/o, what do you think will be your next purchase?

I haven't done HST in so long but I do remember it is a tough one, keep working at it, you'll get it eventually! Practice makes perfect.

Did you get the hat knitted? I love calamari & yeah it does sound better than squid. So, what did you end up drinking/eating tonight? What kind of beer do you drink, I know you mentioned dark beer. I am a Mich Ultra girl myself.

Well, I am going to finish up a few things around here & try to be in bed by 10 or 10:30, Monday mornings are always so hard to get out of bed.

Evenin' everyone

August: LOL; DD's b-friend is a football player and is supposedly very smart. I'm acquainted with his mother; they attend our church and I've seen her a lot at school functions. DH, of course, said absolutely no way to any kind of dating but softened up once he found out how innocent this "relationship" is. I don't even think they've talked to each other. It's at the note writing stage...Do you like me? Check yes or no. It's so cute; reminds me of when I was younger.

I'll listen to LIC again and get more of the lyrics to that song.

It finally warmed up to 24 today. But that's it until next Sunday; we're back into single digit highs and below zero for lows.

I did Jari Love's Slim & Lean this a.m. I really enjoyed it. It's a great upper body workout even though she does work the legs. But I'll use this w/o as more of an add-on for the upper body. I'm sore already in my shoulders. KPC is on tomorrow's list.

Count me in as another Mich Ultra girl. I don't have one very often, but when I do, I enjoy every drop. It's usually accompanied by pizza...And the regular Smirnoff Ice are my favorite summer drink. There's nothing better after a long day in the gardens than a fresh shower and an icy Ice. Ah, I'm longing for those summer days...

HST is such a great workout. You could substitute the leg presses with something like lunges. I love its fast pace.
