HATE - crazy posting virus hits Hatesville! March 15

RE: HATE - crazy posting virus hits Hatesville! March 1...

Jen,

I don't have stomach issues and really they didn't find out what the problem was. I was dx'ed with thyroid cancer 9 years ago and they removed my thryoid. I was one of the unlucky ones who had a treatment resistant type, so the radioactive iodine didn't work (that's after being hospitalized in isolation twice to have it...then they find out it doesn't work:eek: ) but I digress......lol
Since treatment doesn't work, they watch me like a hawk and when my bloodwork shows them the cancer is growing, I have another surgery.
Right now there is a trace there, but I've not needed surgery in years! (knock on wood!;) )
Last year I suddenly had crazy symptoms, severe insomnia, a pounding HARD heart nonstop, chest pain, I completely lost my appetite (which, believe me, is the first time EVER!!! I mean, that's when I KNEW something was REALLY wrong!!:p ) I lost over 15 pounds and weighed just over 100 pounds.
They thought it had to be hyperthyroid but all my tests were normal for that.....
all the tests on my heart came back normal except for that it was working so very hard and pounding very very hard....
They did say my white blood cell count was low, and potassium but didn't have a diagnosis.
They finally sent me home saying I might have had a "funky" virus and if I didn't start feeling better and gaining weight I'd need to have a bone marrow test...
I did finally start to feel better and now the only lingering symptom is the insomnia.
Every doctor prescribed Ambien or Lunesta and I was on both-separately, for a while. But I finally got myself off and now take an herb, Valerian Root before bed and most nights I can get around 5 hours sleep, sometimes less, every once in a while a little more.

I think I just gave you my entire medical history.....probably more than you were looking for ! Sorry about that!!

But just know that I understand that feeling of being sick and miserable and wanting to be healthy again! I have been working my way back and my workouts are finally almost what they used to be and well, lets just say I dont' have to worry about my appetite OR my weight anymore. :p

Take care and I hope you get some help soon.

My daughter had thyroid cancer and had it removed a few years ago

she just went to a diff doc because her bloodwork kept coming back "high" and she wound up with another surgery

I am sorry you dont respond to treatment

My daughter is in Mich

and now i think ill go fix my coffee for the morning and head to bed

Mariah,

I'm in Ohio. I go to a specialist a few hours away in Columbus since I have a stubborn type.

How is your daughter doing now?
Did she have to be hospitalized for the iodine? I think maybe they don't do it like that anymore but when I had mine, I was in a seperate isolated part of the hospital, far and away from everyone else......everything in the room was covered in plastic, EVERYTHING, and I couldn't bring in anything that wasn't disposable because everything was thrown away that I came in with.

I was brought my meals, but they opened the door and put the tray in and shut the door, I never saw the person.
I couldn't have visitors.
Well. I take that back. My husband and only my husband was allowed for a few minutes a day but he had to sit behind a shield.
And before I was discharged a dr. from nuclear medicine dressed in full protective gear came in with a geiger counter and waved a wand all over me - to make sure the radiation level was low enough for me to leave!!!!

Totally freaky experience !!!

Maybe some of this explains why I wasn't afraid of the virus that was here today!!! :7 :p

I hope your daughter is doing well. Tell her hi for me!:)

She is in Monroe Mich right outside of Detroit
She had similar treatment in the hosp and when she came home she could not be in same room as her child
That was the hardest for her
Right now she is ok but is ever watchful
her latest surgery was just a couple of months ago so they will continue to check
I forget where she found the doctor that she finally went to and enjoyed the way he totally explained things
if you would ever want to speak to her id be glad to give you her email address

Yes, my kids were little too and that was the worst. No cuddling or anything like that for a while.

And weird stuff like pouring stuff in the toilet and then flush 3 times after using!!

thank you Mariah....she can also have my email if she wants it.
I've been going through it a lot longer (and am probably alot older) than she has, so maybe I can help.

Just wanted to pop in and say "good evening" to everyone and "good morning" to August. You all have provided some great reading material...you're giving JK Rowlings a run for her money!

Heather: <<We definitely need to rename this check-in! I vote for Chatterboxes on Crack Check-in! >> LMAO!! <<I started Lent a week early on Valentine’s Day and have officially been free of chocolate and cheese for a month. I decided to fast cheese and chocolate for 40 days. Twelve more sleeps to chocolate and Cabot extra sharp white cheddar cheese! Not together in case you were wondering!>> Congratulations! You're a better woman than I.

Actually, speaking of depriving ourselves, I decided to take the plunge and join LA Weight Loss. I'm so friggin tired of being 'pleasantly plump'! And I definitely want to be ready for my wedding. Their plan is flexible, but provides a lot of structure for my eating throughout the day, which is exactly what I need. I can't seem to do it on my own... and that's OK. I accept defeat. Now lets burn some fat (that's me talking to my hips, thighs, and buns)! :7

Shelley- <<MORNING CRACK HO'S!!!!>> OMG - ROTFLMAO... can't get up!

August <<But if you're in a combustible mood, the rain would keep you safe.>> LOL

Dana - <<My boss gave me a very tedius and boring job. I have to review 340 files. I have no deadline but do you know how crappy that is going to be?????>> Yucky yuck yuck!! Sorry Dana dear! I hope your weigh-in goes well. I know how that feels! I agree with Michele - focus on all the good you've done even if you haven't lost.

Your little ditty about the shoes made me LOL! Its tough to think of good 'unky' words. I particularly liked your used of 'trunky!' :p

Michele - Your phone must ring ALOT!! You're always having to go answer it... What's PF? (You know I can't figure out abbreviations!) I'm so glad your shoes fit and feel good! I have wide, big feet and ALWAYS have trouble find good shoes. That's probably why I don't put much emphasis on having a bunch of them.

Robin - I hate getting wet on my runs. Soggy socks are the worst!!! I hope you enjoyed your other workout.

Deb - <<if it will help you I'll go get Tony right now and I'll do him right away and I'll do it soo hard that and I'll work up a sweat and (come on you all know I'm talking about starting the P90X program)>> ROTFLMAO! I'm not offended. :p

Becky - Thanks for the props on the ring! I checked out your photo album and you're VERY pretty. Great wedding photos! I'm sorry to hear about your cancer, but it sounds like you're really strong now. And you have such a positive attitude - you're an inspiration. {{{hugs}}}}

Diane - <<What is that theory that people always take the amount of time alotted to do a task? If you have 3 days, that is how long it will take. If you have the same task have have 5 days to do it, it takes that long. If you have no deadline, it drags on forever.>> THAT IS SO TRUE! At least for me. I'm a big procrastinator! Oh how I adores sushi! I didn't know you couldn't have it when you're pregnant.. Maybe just a california roll with no raw fish?

Robin (again) - {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} I'm sorry you had such a rough day. Greyor is very lucky to have a family and grandma who cares so much about him! My brother grew up with FAS (Fetal Alcohol Syndrome) and there have definitely been good and bad times for all of us. I don't pretend to know what you're doing through though... I just hope you feel better soon!! :* :* :*

Michele - Well, we've gotta do what we've gotta do! We'd love to put up with you while your hubby's gone!

Jen - The dog diary made me smile and the cat diary made me crack up so loud my fiance in the other room had to come out and read it too!! OMG, that is SO true. My cats always act like they're so PUT OUT by what's going on around them.

I'm sorry your tummy is hurting. You should really consider doing some mind/body therapy. It sounds like you put a lot of pressure on yourself that might be relating to your physical symptoms. I don't want to sounds like a crackpot, but there is documented evidence of the mind/body connection. It couldn't hurt to try some relaxation, hypnotherapy, massage, or just psychotherapy. I hate that word, psychotherapy, but I don't know what else to call it.

:) We wuv you Jen. {{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}} Don't ever call yourself selfish. You are the only one who knows what going on with you and you have a duty to tell us about it if it makes you feel better....

Terri - I agree! This thread was my evening reading for the night! Good stuff.

Mariah - I agree about pancakes... I can eat them by the dozen!! I'm sorry to hear about your daughter's thyroid cancer. Dang! That must be really tough. {{{{{hugs}}}}} Enjoy your morning coffee!

Alright, that was super long... but I had so much fun reading today's thread. It distracted me from how hungry I am! Yay! Talk to ya'll tomorrow.
