August

Cathlete
Good morning!

That's it! I'm moving out! Of Mom's, that is, and back to my place LOL.

So today's the big laundry, vacuum, scrub-a-dub, swipe, change the litter, wash the water fountain, put things back, take things back and general that day.

http://bestsmileys.com/fainting/1.gif

And what better way to start it all than to be woken by a squirrel cleaning herself leaning up against me at 5am?

http://bestsmileys.com/bath/1.gif

Oh, that reminds me... Can you believe I'm almost out of litter? I actually decided to make the same order as the one I did when I made the mistake of ordering 8 big bags of the stuff. That turned out to be a really good deal. Mistakes are great! http://bestsmileys.com/thumbs/3.gif

Anyway, Mom comes back on Friday, so I must enjoy my freedom to the utmost today and tomorrow LMAO. http://bestsmileys.com/flowers/13.gif

DANA - That's great that you had such a good speaker who addressed some things you're concerned about. Were you able to speak with him directly? What does he suggest for children with ADHD?

Uh, what's co-sleeping?

Sorry to hear that cats are gone, but I guess it's better that way, so then you won't have to feel bad about feeling responsible to care for them.

Is the airplane accident the one that took place in Okinawa? I got an email from a friend asking about it, and since I don't watch the news (I don't watch any TV when I'm not with my mom), I had no idea what it was about. Thanks for thinking of me when you see news about Japan. Like stolen golden bathtubs LOL. I wonder what ever happened with that.

I haven't spoken to my mom since she went to OR with my bro, but we've been emailing. It sounds like they're getting lots done. And of course she's totally excited to get back to be with her squirrels.

How cute about Ralphie not liking the rain. I have a friend who has a dog who doesn't like the rain, either. He ended up buying matching raincoats so that they could both try to enjoy the rain a bit. That sounds kind of cute.

That must send chills down your spine to think about Gabe going out and playing in the river like that. And he obviously knew you wouldn't approve if he had to alter the story to you. It's interesting (and really good) that he says he feels badly when he lies. Have you tried telling him how it makes YOU feel? That his lying and doing things he knows he shouldn't do really worries and frightens you? I only have a plant and four squirrels. That's all I can come up with. Have you played with Gabe with a feather teaser?

>did you see how I dodged your answer to our starting to workout???? Did I say that????? You sure it was me??? I'll get back to ya on that one.

LMAO! I was looking around for your reply! How does Monday sound to you? Mom comes back Friday and I'm out of town over the weekend. Monday is always good. Michele always uses a Monday. Let's do a Monday, shall we?

Anybody have a good beginner rotation that is not THE beginner rotation that I'm kind of burnt out on?

SHELLEY - Hi there, PMS again? It's that time already? Oh brother, didn't Aunt Flo just visit me?

DIANE - It sounds like everything is going very smoothly for the arrival of your daughter! It's exciting. Man, remember way back when you guys were still trying to get pregnant? I totally do!

Wow, I wrote that and then fell asleep! I feel mucho better. After my long nap, I actually ended up doing a ton of cleaning and now I'm ready to start my own day. The girls are under my bed napping and the boys are having a fun-fest on my comforter.

LOL. The minute I wrote that the girls came out to play. http://bestsmileys.com/hyper/7.gif

Have a great day!

Hey there! I'm here, I'm here!

I never made it back yesterday and I have to tell you, this is the best my elbow has felt since before my Wii injury. I really think staying far, far away from the computer is probably the best thing for me right now, but not to worry, I'll check in here everyday -- I would miss y'all way too much if I didn't :*

You would not believe the weather here this morning. When we got up we couldn't even see out of our windows because they were completely misted over. It's so hot and humid to the point of being soupy. I feel like I'm in Florida or Louisiana, for crying out loud. We're expecting temps in the mid 90's today and the rest of this week. I've been complaining about the weather all summer, haven't I? DH always says I'm happiest when I have something to b*itch about :p

Augie Doggie - It's so nice to see your smilie studded posts again. They're so happy looking :7. I need to do massive cleaning but, nah, I don't wanna. I'm feeling very lazy. It's just too freaking HOT!

I usually wake up to Johnny knocking things off my nightstand -- lol! Golly, do they need a crane to deliver all that litter -- LMAO! What kind are you using again? How often do you completely change it?

I'll BRB -- I need to read the posts from last night. I have no clue what's going on and I'm looking at your replies to Dana and thinking,"co-sleeping?" WTH is that!? -- LMAO

Don't go away -- I'll BRB

http://bestsmileys.com/anxious/1.gif

AGH! Michele is here! Michele is here!! http://bestsmileys.com/happy/5.gif

Nobody was around, so then I tried to go to sleep LOL. Luckily Lulu knocked over the garbage can to wake me up to get online again. http://bestsmileys.com/doh/4.gif

Oh, it's super hot here, too. Sticky, humid and I know I said it, but I'll say it again, it's Japan's hottest summer in 48 years. Woo!

I'm glad to hear your elbow is doing better. But I'm not glad to hear that it's from not being on the computer. Maybe I should write to Wii to complain. This is not good for any of us. :)

I use Silica gel, and with four squirrels, I'm like changing it every few days. These guys are pee monsters. Frankly, I'm just honored that they're sharing one litter box like good siblings.

So I decided on my rotation that I'll start TOMORROW, hear that Dana? TOMORROW. But you can start with me on Monday. We can make Monday the official day. Sheesh, I won't be around Saturday or Sunday, so why on earth am I even bothering to start tomorrow LOL.

No, no, I mean, I'm excited to start off tomorrow!

I looked through my list of finished rotations and chose the one that I remember telling y'all did nothing for me because it was too easy LOL. I'm going to be doing my TLT rotation mixed with Christi (of course!) and Slow & Heavy (I'm going to hurt!).

You back yet, Michele? But don't hurt your elbow. Seriously. :*

I'm back but I didn't make it all the way through yesterday's posts. I was sidetracked by that dang phone. That's the thing about about being a SAHKM (stay at home kitty mom) -- everybody knows you're home so you get hammered with phone calls;) x( . Sometimes I just let the answering machine get it, but then you end up having to return calls, so it's better to just answer the &*#@ phone and be done with it.

You asked about Johnny's favorite toys. Unequivocally, it's ANYTHING he can bat around http://bestsmileys.com/cats1/11.gif . He'll spend hours batting at little bits of stuff -- throwing it up in the air and batting it into another room, then running like hell after it. It's hilarious! He loves anything he can squeeze himself into -- like baskets and shoe boxes -- especially shoe boxes. I keep a shoe box in just about every room of the house. And the smaller the box/basket, the better he likes it.

Can...can I work out with you and Dana? I feel so left out http://bestsmileys.com/crying/8.gif . I haven't been doing any weights at all since the elbow accident, but now that I have a good elbow strap I think it's okay to start, just so long as I don't go to heavy and overdo it. I'm starting a rehab program with special stretches and strengthening exercises for my arm, too. I'll be doing a lot of elliptical workouts alternating with Cathe's beginner step, CC PUMP, and Classical Stretch. How's that sound?

Hey, I can't get my favorite smilie website to load x(

I'm going to try one more time to catch up with yesterdays thread. I'll BB:*

I can't figure out if it's too hot and I need to use the air-conditioner, or if I'm going to be too cold using the air-conditioner after I've fallen asleep.

>being a SAHKM

LMAO. I hear ya. But I always let my answering machine get the calls. :)

Oh, I wish my squirrels woulld like to bat things around. It must be because I have carpet everywhere that batting things just isn't very fun. I would so prefer flooring! If the toy doesn't have someone moving it around, they don't seem to like it much. Johnny is so cute.

You know, I keep thinking about how you said that you always sing to your Johnny. I always sing to my guys, too, and now every time I sing to them, I think about you LOL. Mostly I sing the "Oh, Is This Your Tum-Tum?" song, and also the "Oh, What A Cute Bum-Bum!" song. Both originals. :D

Oh yes, yes, let's all start our rotations together! When you wanna start up?

ETA : I'm back at my place so the internet should be super speedy..and yet tonight everything is totally heavy and taking forever!

Hey chickie poos!

It's hot and soupy here too. I hate it. I was quite enjoying the cooler weather. Hey, August.... I hear that the summer there has been really hot. Hottest in a number of years. Do you know how many years that might be??:p

Michele, I'm awfully glad to hear that the elbow strap is helping and you may be ready to get back into your workouts again! That's great news.

Dana - lying, huh? Well, Sophie does it too. But it's more along the lines of the "did you do such and such?". And she'll say no, even though she did. She doesn't make up anything elaborate. I think with her it's because she doesn't want to get into trouble, but I keep hammering into her that she'll get into more trouble with lying (and I always find out) than she will just telling me the truth. Like a few weeks ago when we went to the waterpark, we were walking from the car and I looked over at her and said "do you have mascara on?". "NO!". Sure enough, first time she comes out of the wave pool, she's got black dripping down her face.:p

Robin - I hope everything goes smoothly today!

All right, back to work!

>I looked over at her and said "do you have mascara on?". "NO!". Sure enough, first time she comes out of the wave pool, she's got black dripping down her face.

LMAO!

I was rereading the posts out of boredom :p and on my second reading, this somehow struck me as funny:

>since the elbow accident

:*

I have carpet everywhere -- well -- almost everywhere. Johnny goes through phases, and he's undergone a couple of transformations. He wasn't very snuggly when I first got him and now he can't get enough lovin. Even his taste in toys has changed. It's good to keep a variety of toys around for this reason. Toys that didn't interest Johnny a couple of years ago have become favorites and things he used to love no longer interest him. He used to go crazy over the laser pointer and now he just follows the red light with his eyes and makes no attempt to chase it. He kind of looks at you like, "I'm so over that all ready" -- lol!

I always sing songs with "Johnny" in the lyrics -- lol! Or I'll change another name to Johnny -- like, Bobby's Girl, is Johnny's Girl. I usually get down on the floor and put my head on his head to sing it, and he turns all around and chews my hair and stuff. It's really cute:+

Saturday is CC PP Saturday so I guess I'll start my rotation then, but the official start can be Monday if that works best for y'all.

OMG, ya'll have been busy while I was posting!

Hey Shelley!!! *GASP* Miss Sophie! LMAO about the mascara:7 . Yes, finally I feel better about trying a little weight lifting. I tried to lift light weights a week or so ago and couldn't manage it, but the pain is much better today, and the new elbow strap is so much nicer than the one I had before. I can't thank my BIL enough for the advice -- everything he told me to try has made a big difference.

Are we on for CC PP Saturday?:D

I've been trying to keep busy. :)

I now have my fan on, and am eating a Japanese pear.

Please take note. :p

I am currently finished with my pear and have some slight allergic reaction. Not unlikely due to the Squirrel Race that is going on over here.

Please take note. :*

Augis, I think you need to turn on the AC. That kind of humidity ain't good fer ya.

Mmmmmm...Japanese pears:9

{{{{{Dana}}}}} - Wow, that Gabe is a handful! I'm not a parent so I really don't know what to tell you, but WTH, I'll take a stab at it:p . IMO, which isn't very humble, I think you should scare the daylights out of him, and here's why. Boys, more so than girls, simply have no fear (I know -- I have 5 nephews). They think they're invincible. Sneaking a swim in a river is probably one of the most dangerous things ANYBODY could do, much less a kid. Rivers tend to be muddy and you can't see what's in the water -- you can get hung up and pulled under by a branch or litter, or the current can carry you away -- etc. I'm sure he doesn't understand this at all. I would probably take away something he loves, like his bicycle, for the rest of the summer, and then I'd take him to the fire department and ask them to talk to him about the dangers -- and really, your DH should probably do this because kids tend to fear their dad more than their mom. That's what I'd do -- but then -- that's probably why God didn't allow me to have children:p

Have you discussed Gabe's behavioral problems with your pediatrician? I can ask my DH what if any advice he has. Don't worry. I was a total nightmare child and look at me now http://planetsmilies.net/angel-smiley-5090.gif

Augie -- you're cracking me up:7

ETA one last time -- Dana, oh yeah, I'd love to sue Nintendo, but probably all I'd get out of it is a free Wii game system;) :7

What's wrong with a free Wii?! :p

Speaking of Nintendo, I'm taking mine out.

I've got the air-con control at my bedside. And I've put the remote controls for the lights on a different table so that the squirrels won't keep rolling on it and turning the lights on in the middle of the night LOL.

Yeah, so what, I have remote controls for my lights.

Night night! :*

ETA : When MIchele mentioned scaring Gabe, I thought for a minute she was going to suggest he go swimming in a really muggy awful river - supervised LOL.
