>Night night! :*

You have remote controls for your AC and lights?! OMG that is so nifty!

I have totally lost track of the posts. Every time I look I see another one I missed ^^^ there. I'm so freaking slow;-) :p

I think I'm finally caught up with yesterday's thread and it seems the only one I left out was Diane.

Diane - you are so organized -- it's amazing! What are the letters you mentioned? Is it the alphabet or Ella's name? I can't wait to see pictures of her room. You have really made it special.

Robin, Jen, Jennifer, Arista, and anyone I may have missed -- have a wonderful day and I'll try to check in later. I better sign off for now. I don't want to undo the good that was done by resting my arm yesterday. :* :* :*

ETA a dangerous river story before I go. Do y'all remember how warm it was over the Christmas holiday last year? I caught a story on the news -- something that happened near me -- of a family that went for a walk along the river. This family consisted of both parents, 2 teenage daughters, and a dog. Somehow the dog went into the river. I don't know how -- maybe he wasn't on a leash (don't get me started). The mom went in after the dog, the dad went in after the mom, and the mom, dad, and dog all drowned, on Christmas day, leaving behind 2 teenage daughters. How sad is that!?;(

Michele - I love it, SAHKM :) The letters are Ella's name. There is a lady on ebay that was recommended to me by several people that paints the letters however you want to match your decor. Go to ebay and search for letter boutique. She does amazing work. I can't wait to get them.

August - Oh, another favorite toy in our house is the cap you pull out of a milk jug. Sydney can hear when you snap the top off, and comes running into the room to snatch it off the countertop. We have tons of those stashed under furniture throughout the house. However, we will have to find them all and throw them away, b/c they will be a choking hazard for the baby. Poor Sydney won't get to have her favorite toy anymore.

Dana - Not a mom yet, but I like Michele's idea of having DH scare the crud out of him.

Hey you all. I'm much too busy at work to chat. Just wanted to say hi. Dana, who was the speaker? Tristan was evaluated by a marvelous neuropsycholist who now practices in Lewisburg - Dr. Dowell. I'm going on a picnic at Montgomery Park on Sat. I'll be watching the river for little boys.

I hope to do a CTX workout when I get home, unless Mr Greyorpants feels otherwise. Maybe I'll catch up with all the computer fun and games I've missed today too.

Love to you all.

Hello Haters.
As of now, I'm stuck in humidity and trying to dry out from all the rain. My Lillies are almost gone from too much rain but my Hostas that I planted and thought were gone came back up-from 3 years ago.
This week, I have my own misery party. No man, which is REALLY a good thing. Been thinking about getting back on Match but not sure if I want to invest the time or the money on it.
No word on anything from where my apps were sent.
My porch overhang will now not be done till sometime in Sept., my friend working on it will be traveling for business alot now so we'll hopefully be done before the snow flys.
It was lightening and monsoon rain this AM so I couldn't get on my PC same with the night before that. We're supposed to get rain tonight through Sat. AM.
My work is doing well this week, thank GOD. My Dad is doing well too.

Have a Great Night.

Hey Robin - Is your mom settled into her new residence? Did the move go well? How long will your sister be sticking around? I sure hope and pray that everything went without a hitch. I know you'll rest so much easier now that your mom will be under constant supervision.

Jennifer - I'm sorry about your Lilly of the Valley. Maybe some of them can be salvaged. Eight counties in Ohio flooded and have been declared an emergency. Thankfully we're okay, and so is my family up north where most of the flooding occurred. As a matter of fact, we need rain here. I truly hope you can find someone special -- someone who is good enough for YOU!

I found this little ditty on a website somewhere -- I can't remember where, but it's pretty funny. Enjoy!

Rules For Cats To Live By

BATHROOMS:
Always accompany guests to the bathroom. It is not necessary to do anything. Just sit and stare.

DOORS:
Do not allow any closed doors in any room. To get door open, stand on hind legs and hammer with forepaws. Once door is opened, it is not necessary to use it. After you have ordered an "outside" door opened, stand halfway in and out and think about several things. This is particularly important during very cold weather, rain, snow, or mosquito season.

CHAIRS AND RUGS:
If you have to throw up, get to a chair or bed quickly. If you cannot manage in time, get to an Oriental rug. If there is no Oriental rug, any quality carpeting is good. When throwing up on the carpet, make sure you back up so it is as long as a human's bare foot.

HAMPERING:
If one of your humans is engaged in some activity and the other is idle, stay with the busy one. This is called "helping," otherwise known as "hampering." Following are the rules for "hampering:"

1) When supervising cooking, sit just behind the left heel of the cook. You cannot be seen and thereby stand a better chance of being stepped on and then picked up and comforted.

2) For book readers, get in close under the chin, between eyes and book, unless you can lie across the book itself.

3) For paperwork, lie on the paper in the most appropriate manner so as to obscure as much of the work as possible. Or pretend to doze, but occasionally reach out and slap the pencil or pen.

4) For people paying bills or working on income taxes or Christmas cards, keep in mind the aim: to hamper! First, sit on the paper being worked on. When dislodged, watch sadly from the side of the table. When activity proceeds nicely, roll around on the papers, scattering them to the best of your ability. When being removed for the second time, make all four legs flail around wildly in order to push pens, pencils, and erasers off the table.

5) When a human is holding the newspaper in front of him/her, be sure to jump on the back of the paper. Humans love surprises.

6) When a human is working at the computer, jump up on the desk, walk across the keyboard, bat at the mouse pointer on the screen and then lay in the human's lap across arms if possible to hamper typing in progress.

WALKING:
As often as possible, dart quickly and as close as possible in front of the human, especially on stairs, when they have something in their arms, in the dark, and when they first get up in the morning. This will help their coordination skills.

BEDTIME:
Always sleep on the human at night so he/she doesn't move around too much.

LITTER BOX:
When using the litter box, be sure to kick as much litter out of the box as possible. Humans love the feel of kitty litter between their toes.

HIDING:
Every now and then, hide in a place where the humans cannot find you. Do not come out for three to four hours under any circumstances. This will cause the humans to panic (which they love) thinking that you have run away or are lost. Once you do come out, the humans will cover you with love and kisses and you will probably get a treat.

ONE LAST THOUGHT:
Whenever possible, get close to a human, especially their face, then turn around, and present your butt to them. Humans love this, so do it often. And don't forget guests.

Michele, I love the rules. Cats must have to memorize them during kittenhood.

My mom is all moved in and seems to be handling the move well. Kim got her settled about 3pm and said the room looks nice with her few pieces of furniture. Tomorrow she'll take some pictures and books. Kim said it's weird to be in my mom's house without Mom - nice, but weird. She and her DH are hoping to come back east for a couple weeks next month to start going through Mom's belongings. I'll try to take a couple days off to join them.

Sorry my posts have been so self centered today, but I haven't had time for personals. Now I'm home alone (I can't remember when that last happened) and it's kind of spooky. I think I may take Harry Potter and head to bed. Hope to have more time to chat tomorrow.

Good evening haters. Well I'm at a loss now- my protein bars don't sound good anymore but neither does anything else. I am having Kashi GoLean cereal for dinner tonight, it doesn't really sound good either but I know I have to eat. I am not sure what my problem is, I still feel like I could have a bit of a cold or just bad sinus b/c at night, before bed when just around the house, I have been freezing when I am normally warm if anything-especially with how hot & humid it is here. My nose has also been running like crazy especially when working out so I am guessing it's a cold. I'm really tired of food not sounding good- they even had a food day at work today & I didn't touch anything, which is good in a way but also bad that nothing looks or sounds good.

August- When does your mom get back, Friday? I bet she is missing the cats like crazy! Oh, and I agree with Diane about the rings from the milk carton, Sport loves them- he keeps it in the kitchen & likes to push it under the rug by the back door then "find it".

Dana- How old is Gabe? Have you tried making him do something he doesn't enjoy when he lies, like a chore around the house or something or maybe take TV or video game away for a weekend or something when you catch him in a lie... of course I don't have kids & can't raise normal cats so I have no clue really!

Michele- I am right there with you about the weather, this summer hasn't been fun at all b/c it has been hot & humid the whole time and just going outside and not doing anything I am sweating buckets and I hate sweating execpt when working out. I get really cranky when I am hot, I also get that way when I'm hungry too!

Robin- Glad to hear everything seems to be going well with your mom.

Diane- I missed something about the letters... clue me in here!

Jennifer- Sorry I never responded to you, Springfield is right off of I-55.

Okay, well I am going to finish eating my Kashi cereal! Oh, and I can't remember who asked about the skirtspot & if I've ordered before. I placed an order Monday night and he e-mailed me back again & said he saw my order come through & they'd be cutting the material for them on Tuesday. So, when I receive them I will let you know how they are but I think from the sounds of it the quality will be good!

The rain has finally stopped being so nasty here. Tonight, I couldn't walk after work cause the clouds came in too fast. Now, my Lillies are white at the roots instead of the leaves but my Hostas, which I thought were dead and gone, are now coming back.
The flooding here is west and north of me besides south by Findlay, and problably the Detroit River too.
A friend of mine and I were talking about the only people we know dating, met online.
Did anyone see Nascar on Primetime? It's pretty interesting and I'm not even into that sport.

I have relatives living in Findlay -- they're all fine and didn't have much flooding on their end of town. My nephew, on the other hand, has an office in downtown Findlay which flooded with several inches of water. I feel so bad for him but I'm grateful that he's okay. He lives east of Findlay and couldn't even get to his office today -- the roads were all closed.:-(
