Has this Cathe Forum Changed?

I guess it boils down to what you're looking for. I, too, am enjoying getting to know the members better. A couple of months ago it was the same old questions and the same old answers. I think the current posts are more energetic. This forum keeps my workday much more fun and interesting. I escape to come here and see what's going on when I'm getting bored.

If you come here specifically for health, exercise and nutrition information only, I can see where there would be a certain frustration. :)

I also would like to see a nutrition forum. that would help to keep things organized for those that only come in for a sec to get a quick answer or check a specific topic.

i only joined in November and i have seen the forum change. it is moving faster and people are getting to know each other better. i think it's great! but, i also agree that it is harder to keep up. I for one enjoy the challenge and have enjoyed wathing everyone "loosen up" and the pics response has been great too! i think there is a niche for everyone around here and it is an awesome forum. more members = more chatter...:D

I say add a few more forums, Like a "Silly " one ,as silly as they have gotten these days of crazy days waiting for the Hardcore !!!LOL No but really that would be good I think to add a few ... Who does that ?:) :) :)

I enjoy the way the forum is now as much as I enjoyed how it was in the past. Both styles fit my tastes.

I don't think that many posts are going unanswered. And I think the forum has moved fast in the past also. From time to time it moves fast, and then slows down again. It may be temporary.

Marion, I'm sorry if I appear "stiff and emotive". I can't help it.;( I'm bipolar (manic depressive) :p

Marion, I like your humor and I think you have been very good at keeping it cool and not crossing the line. I have never felt offended with any of your posts.

OM goodness!

I really really wasnt pointing the finger at anyone in particular Marie, and especially YOU! since I havent really known you long enough to have the rudeness to judge you anyway................. and besides, JUDGING isn't my style at all

By "stiff" and "emotive" I ment, that NOW the posts have a little more passion and energy in them, and members are more happy to "open" themselves up a little more to change and more tolerant to such a different amount of views.

BUT before I digg a bigger grave for myself, Ill stop and hope you accept from me my apology if I did not express myself well.

Cyber hug to you

P.S. Im glad you enjoy my Aussie humour............but please DO feel free to tell me anytime to 'keep my big mouth shut!" LOL!

You have to stay in shape. My Grandmother started walking when she was 60. Today she is 97 and we don't know where the hell she is! - Ellen DeGeneres

Hi Marion,
I don't think anyone thinks you were pointing fingers...it certainly doesn't come across that way. There are many types who use the board ...open, stiff emotive and unemotive and welcome to them all. I for one get a chuckle out of some of your posts and actually look for them when I come home from work. I think it would be nice however to have an extra forum for nutrition,well-being, fitness only. :)

As a newbie here but a veteran of other forum/BB's I do have a few suggestions.
1. A nutrition with a recipie sub forum would be great. That way it will not interrupt the flow of the Open discussion board.
2. A training journal section would also be helpful. That way everyone can check in for their rotations, post their individual goals, track it all and receive constructive feedback in one convenient place.
3. A separate section for other workout videos/dvd's. It would help Cathe keep track of the competition :D
4. This forum's search engine is a powerful tool. As a matter of fact, I didn't post for my 1st couple of weeks here because I was on the search to find answers to all of my questions. If any of you have a question about any of Cathe's workouts/rotations etc...you can find something about it if you use the search.
5. Keep the Open Discussion. Many look at us who care about taking care of ourselves as if we are aliens and try to bring us down. The OD sections keeps this a community instead of just a forum.
Okay, that is all...;)

Violette, those are excellent ideas! I agree with you. I have lurked on this forum for several years. Lately, something has changed and now I feel comfortable posting here. We have alot of new friends at YaYas who are hearing about Cathe for the first time so there will be lots of people checking her out. These women are not new to exercise. The Firm is just not cutting it for some of them. :)

Violette, those are wonderful ideas. I hope Cathe hears you.:)

Like Cathy, I don't want to limit the Open Discussion area, so please don't take my previous post as a comment against it. People do come here to socialize, and I try to do some of that although I'm one of those cold, stiff types.;) I simply want to find information I'm looking for right away, in the little time I have to devote online during the day. Lately I've been doing searches on the Cathe forum and reading very old threads to find what I'm looking for. It's something I never had to do before because a lot of the threads talked about specific points in fitness and nutrition, and although there were some spirited debates, they always helped me decide what information to take and use for myself.

So yes, reorganizing the forum would be a good idea. I like the idea of a recipe forum. A while back, I found great ideas for oatmeal. And yesterday I realized there is such a thing as powered-up peanut butter on the market. It's all good.

And I'm always looking for ways to modify some of Cathe's moves, especially the ones that aren't so good to my knees. That could go under training journal.

I used to join a group where we checked in everyday. It would be nice to have a sub-forum like that. My body was at its best when I had support especially during times when I'm not very motivated.

Since the Cathe community is changing by leaps and bounds, I think the forum should reflect that as well.

I know you weren't pointing fingers, Marion. I'm just naturally prone to feel guilty. But, I wasn't that serious, anyway. So, like my husband says....It's aaaaaaaaaaaaalllllll goooood :D !

Wow everyone  Thanks for the feedback.
Now that I think about it, the training journals can be done in the Success Stories section. After all, if you are working out, you're a success story, right? ;)
