Has/Is this happening to you...

Cathlete
Good Morning,
Hope you all had a great weekend. I was just wondering..
I am 38 will be 39 in 2 months and lately I noticed that my body is changing some. (The insides) Within the last few months I've noticed that I have been having some aches and pains. I hurt my back a few weeks ago and I can't even remember how. That lasted a couple of days. Then I hurt my hamstring/glute muscle (that area right underneath your buttock)it still bothers me and I dont know how I did that either. My stomach goes insane when I eat something I don't normally do. Sometimes I feel like pressure in my legs and arms not all the time but this never use to happen. I don't know if I should worry or can I attribute it to age???
I have my annual check up next week I will ask my doctor. Thanks!

I've noticed ever since I turned 40, I keep discovering new aches and pains, or other issues. I'm chalking mine up to age. I'm not a huge fan of running to the doctor. I go in for my annual but other than that I only go in if I feel really bad and I can't stand it anymore. Not saying by any means that is the right thing to do, that is just the way I am.

I would definitely mention something to your doc since you're going in for your annual anyway.

Good Luck!

Hi wonderwoman - I wouldn't necessarily say these are all normal parts of aging. It sounds like you may be having an issue with inflammation. I would be particulary concerned with the stomach issues and the pressure in your legs and arms. I think it is a good thing you are seeing your doctor next week - please do mention these things and get them followed up on.

Hum i noticed at age 35 stiffness after i set to eat lunch or whatwver. Then now im 43 and i get stiff amd i hurt my back last yr pulling a tile up off the floor in our kitcnen and i still hurt there to this day if i sit on somethingore then hr. I have problems going tto bathroom and now im trying probiotics and i been tryn to eat right .
I wonder at times, will i ever b able to be back to feeling good again.. But i do feel better since i incorperated exercise again.

Have you tried an elimination diet to determine what is bothering you? I don't like the sound of the 'pressure' in your limbs. I really think you should mention that to your doctor.

i can definitely say that, since my late thirties, my body does not recover like it used to and it is much more apt to injury then it ever was before. i injured my hip flexor in my late thirties and that still bothers me on occasion. i have flat feet and so think that has led to my recent case of tendonitis. i have had other aches and pains, but am thinking it is because i work out so much and i am not as young as i used to be. my stomach tends to get bloated quite often, but i attribute that to being vegan and eating so dang much fiber. anyway, i am sure it is nothing to worry about, but it's good you are going in and can get it all checked out. the pressure in arms/legs sounds peculiar to me-- could that be poor circulation? good luck!

Thank you so much for your responses ladies. I think it's a combination of a couple of things. The fact that I sit in front of a computer for 8 hours and 23 minutes a day and my commute to work from home is an hour long (30 min coming 30 min going) sure doesnt help me at all. I think age does play a role in it not a hugh one and I know hormones can fluctuate especially when it's that time of the month. Thank goodness I eat well and try to get my workouts in 5 days a week. I can only imagine it would be much more worse if I didn't. When I do eat a meal that I don't normally eat during the week my stomach can't tolerate it because I don't eat things like that on a regular basis. This saturday we went to TGIFriday's and I had those nachos with the meat and cheese sour cream the works so yummy but so bad for my stomach! LOL
Thanks again
