Has anyone tried Stri-Vectin for stretch marks?

Save your money and use it for something else. I tried it for both stretch marks and wrinkles. Didn't do anything at all.

I believe nothing removes stretch marks. Even plastic surgery doesn't do a great job. Don't get too frustrated or spend any money trying to do this, in my opinion.

Do you think the same thing for scars? I have an ugly one right below the front side of my left shoulder from a benign, fatty tumor that was removed. Plus, it is indented from him removing a bit of the muscle too! :-(

I am not an expert, but a dermatologist was doing a workshop at the women's center here and I attended it.

My information is from her, plus I've never known anyone to get rid of stretch marks.

As to your scar, as I understand it, if the scar is wide, they can narrow it, but if it is a slice-mark, then all they would be doing is slicing into you to close the slice. Doesn't make sense. Do you see what I'm saying?

They can also do dermabrasion on things like acne scars and stretch marks, but the results on stretch marks are not too good.

Mogambo, you just burst my bubble!:-( Oh well, so there is no magic to making stretch marks go away? Are you sure? I was really wishing that maybe, just maybe there was some magic cream that would make them go away. Oh well.

Hi Lisa,

I was actually thinking about posting a similar question, so I'm glad you asked. I distinctly remember getting my first stretch mark when I was 13! It seems that whenever I grew taller, gained or lost a few pounds, marks would appear. I don't know of any topical treatment that has prover results. I have heard great things about lasers, but treatments are quite expensive!

And they can do funny things to your pigmentation so unless your natural color is ivory white, you may have unpleasant changes in store. My skin is olive, so I would not get laser treatment.

LOL- I forgot about that. I'm so Casper the Friendly Ghost, so maybe someday. Hopefully they'll develop better technology to accommodate all skin tones!

Thanks Liane!

Yes, I understand what you mean. I was hoping maybe someone had used a cream/lotion/vitamin to fade the scar??? I probably would never opt for any kind of procedure. It is a bit wide and shows with some of my tank tops. It is something I can live with, was just hoping maybe someone had used something that worked wonders. Thanks for your time.

I've read that with time they will fade. So I guess I have to be patient... I am using Palmer's Cocoa Butter and Vitamin E and over the years they have become less noticeable, but still there:-(
