Has anyone tried Permalean protein powder and/or bars?

Always on the search for a powder that will actually make me look forward to drinking it, I came across their website. They say they are the gourmet protein powder ( where Benn & Jerry's meets Dr. Atkins...) OK, I'm a sucker for advertising. I'm sooo tempted esp. since I'm low-carbing and breastfeeding. It's so hard to find powders w/o artificial sweeteners as well as a good percentage of actual protein in the containers not just fillers. Please let me know.Dee

Yes, I have tried them and I love the powders. They are as good as they say they are. I bought the bars hoping they tasted as good, but they are not the best. Hope this helps. Let me know if you want more info. Have A Blessed Day!!!

I had to go on ahead and order the permalean powder because I had none left and was desperate. I also ordered the bars. Well, when I opened the container it smelled liked french vanilla ice cream yummmmm!!! Even my four-year old who has learned to be wary of Mommy's concoction wanted some. It was absolutely delicious!! Making this low-carb journey a little easier. I also saw it was good for kids so I added it to my kids morning smoothie (just a little). I going to take some over to my Dad who has diabetes and had radiation and is wasting away to nothing. I hope he likes it. It really is good-tasting.
Anyway, when I went to taste the bars they were pretty bad. You have to eat it w/ water to keep that horrid aftertaste away.
Did you notice something in the ingridients called Salatrim? What is that? If I had read the ingredients better I wouldn't of purchased them. I'm not into fake foods (outside of protein powders anyway). But it's OK because the powder was true to its claim. Very, very, good. I may never cook again (OK, in my dreams, anyway.) Thanks, Farm Girl

Salatrim

I might be wrong, but I think Salatrim is like Olestra: it tastes like fat, but your body can't digest it, so it doesn't count as fat calories. Since Olestra can cause malabsorption of fat soluble vitamins (A, D, E and K) and side effects like (ahem) "anal leakage", I'd stear clear of it, or at least not consider it a "food".
