Has anyone tried M ON A * VIE?

I recently bought a bottle from a co worker. It was $40 for one bottle. It is a liquid antioxidant drink which is taken twice
daily. You can take up to 2oz.'s. Here is my question. I am
feeling badly because I didn't realize it was more or less
one of those pyramids where you bring in inventory and have to
sell so many. This co worker knows I am a health/exercise fanatic
so he sold me. My understanding is I am the only one trying in
the office. I am sure my co worker wants me to like it and
spread the word hence he makes more $$

My problem is my dh was not happy with me buying into something
he doesn't understand/believe in. The other issue is so far I
like the product but it could just be mind over matters as far
as my workouts seem longer, etc. If I purchased this product
each week we are talking over $2,000/year. Seems expensive
and we have two small children. One thought is does this
stuff really prevent cancer and other ailments? Who knows
the website is mostly about becoming a distributor.
Not FDA approved of course.

Any thoughts on how I should break it to my co worker who is
pushing me to buy another bottle??

Thank you

I went through this same thing with a co-workers as well. He actually gave me a bottle (I didn't have to buy it) and used it as he said, drinking 2 ounces in the morning and evening. It didn't even last a week!! I didn't see a difference either. He tried to get me to buy into it but I just told him no, that I have other things going on right now and I wasn't that interesting in it. I find it interesting that this guy drinks it but is ALWAYS sick with something.

I would just tell him the truth. It's too expensive.

I tried Mona Vie for a while. One of DH's partners started selling it and got DH started as well. He doesn't push it at all, but had me try it. It is very expensive and I personally did not notice that much of a difference. I ended up selling our left over bottles on ebay.

Thanks Ladies.

I agree, too expensive. I might as well just tell the truth.
You know the odd thing is this guy has every ailment too!!
I also noticed he looks unhealthy! Weird. I was thinking if
I heard back from people with rave reviews then I might think
about this more.

This is a pyramid though right?

Yes, it's a pyramid. The guy that I work with tried to get me to come to meetings and kept telling me about all these people that are making lots of money. That was probably 6 months ago and he's still working here so I guess not everyone is making money.

I'll just chime in here. The acai berry, which is the main ingredient in the MonaVie, is full of benefits for your body. However, b/c of its popularity, you can buy the juices with it at the grocery store. You can even get a Haggen Daaz (sp?) acai berry sorbet! I tried the MonaVie (somebody gave me a bottle) and only noticed that it made my tummy a little sour - never gained any benefits. However, I have bought juices at the store and they are good and less expensive (the sorbet is good too!) You just have to watch out for the sugar content in all of it.

Thank you everyone for your responses. Seems like we are all on the
same page.

Meowracer, Funny I just noticed Vitamin Water came out with
a " Acai" Blueberry Pomegranate Water. When I mentioned to
my co worker he said it was a watered down version. Of course
he said that. I also just learned he is trying to sell to a
woman that works at our reception desk. I know she has high blood
pressure and takes a daily beta blocker for a hole recently
found in her heart. Perhaps he didn't read the fine print on the
web site. It states not to take if your on a medication for
high blood pressure. I think he is telling her if she drinks the
Mona Vie she can stop her meds. Yikes!! I will give her a head's up .
Although she probably knows better. This is the stuff that turns
me off.

I used it for awhile at $32/bottle. I also bought mine from a co-wroker. I just explained to her that it was too expensive and didn't last that long. She agreed.

If you want the benefits of açaí, Sambazon offers frozen açaí pulp (no sugar added, just açaí and a bit of soy lecithin and citric acid for procedsing) you can mix into different things.

I often make açaí sorbets with two packs of it, slightly thawed (along with frozen dark sweet cherries and/or blueberries and/or mixed berries, a scoop of a red-fruit antioxidant blend by Nature's Plus called "Red Lightening", some agave nectar, rice milk--just enough to blend--and natural vanilla extract). I also make an antioxidant smoothie by blending up chocolate soy milk and one pack of the frozen stuff, thawed.

The only drawback: it makes your tongue and lips purple!

YUM! I have a smoothie mix that I have not used yet, that is pretty low in sugar. Where do you get the Sambazon? Seems like my brother got something like that, but I don't think it was frozen and I would prefer that. Of course, it would turn my braces purple too -

Where do you get the Nature's Plus stuff too, and is it frozen as well? You are always mentioning the most interesting stuff to try. Thanks for the input!

Shana: I had my local health-food store order it. I've also bought it at another health-food store. But you can get it online as well: www.sambazon.com

It's a powdered mix that I buy at a different health-food store!
