Has anyone had liposuction?

I wish that I could visit this site without seeing people (in this case Candi) getting attacked for having a different view point. I think there's something about not doing that in the forum guidelines. x(

Actually, I think I was the one being attacked for having a different point of view. ;-) I was responding to a perceived attack. You may have missed my initial post.

So I made an appointment for a consultation with a very reputable local PS for January 5th. I just want information. Thank you all for your input. It never hurts to go for the consult and see if it may be right for me. Thanks - and Merry Christmas all!

Let me give you some great advice. Wear you BEST UNDIES AND BRA. When I went in old Aunt Flow was visiting and I had on my granny panties. Those pics are still there to haunt me. I had wonderful results from both my surgeries and my doc uses my pics (with my permission, of course and my head is not in them) in her book and when she gives info sessions about plastic surgery. I told her that she could use them for the rest of her career if she announced each and every time someone saw them, "This woman has one regret - a very poor underwear choice that day. She has many other nice pairs of panties and has no idea why she wore these." She said that it is a great icebreaker when people are nervous....but let me serve as a warning to you. Her receptionist says that she still can't imagine me in those undies because they just don't "go" with my personality. Good undie day!

Let me know how you feel after the appointment!

Not worth the potential risk as far as I'm concerned. It is difficult to understand how anyone who is interested in health and fitness would subject their body to such a barbaric procedure.

I just saw last weekend on tv where a woman's colon was perferated as a result of an overzealous doctor performing lyposuction. She almost died.

Vanity is not worth the risk!

I agree. And it frankly disturbs me to see so many posts recently on plastic surgery (lipo, botox, implants).

Part of fitness is being the best you can be naturally, IMO (barring necessary surgery for reconstruction or removing lots of extra skin due to massive weight loss).

"Part of fitness is being the best you can be naturally, IMO (barring necessary surgery for reconstruction or removing lots of extra skin due to massive weight loss). "

Removing extra skin after a gigantic weight loss is vanity...it's not medically necessary.

But it is repairing a "defect" or "deformity" (which is what I consider plastic surgery for, which is why I'm distubed by it's use for breast implants--are small breasts a "deforminty"?--for example. Now, if you have one a-cup breast and one c-cup breast, implants serve the purpose of repairing a deformity.) Have you seen the way some people look after loosing massive amounts of weight (though some don't seem to have the same results: maybe depending on age and skin resiliency). There is no way they could easily go out in public without being stared at.

As far as breast implants go and "deformity"...have you actually seen some (a lot) of the "before" pictures out there? Plastic surgery and getting a boob job is not always about making the cover of Playboy.
