"8 Minutes in the Morning to a Flat Belly" by Jorge Cruise.

I just bought the book and it takes you through a series of 4 ab exercises that you do for 1 minute each, then repeat the set of 4 for a total of 8 minutes. He talks about exhaling as you do the moves so as to build the abs inward instead of outward. He also has an eating plan.....filling half your plate with veggies and splitting the other half with protein and carbs. On Saturdaym you're supposed to do a cleanse with somet kind of psyllum shake and extra water...along with the food, but no meat for the protein. You do the ab exercises on M-W-F, upper body on T and lower body on Th....none of which takes more than 8 minutes and the only equipment is an 8 pound medicine ball and a stbility ball. There are also no crunches. He says "dieting" and aerobics are out and resistence training is in. Any thoughts? You're "supposed" to be able to lose up to 6 inches in 4 weeks....guaranteed of course.

Here is my two cents- by no means I am qualified to give advice though... anything that tells you to do something that you can't continue for the long haul, I'd toss aside.

That being said when I first wanted to lose weight I did my own version of the low carb diet because yes, it will work to drop pounds quickly. That being said there is no way I could've done that for the rest of my life so once I dropped the weight I then started working out daily & eating healthy & have been able to maintain my weight for the most part. I would recommend finding something that you can stick to & what works for you might not be what works for the next person.

Also, about the ab thing- I rarely do typical crunches & my midsection is the easiest part of my body for me to keep in shape but I do lots of kickboxing, standing ab work in workouts like slim series, and do lots of plyo works that forces you to engage your abs to keep your balance so I do agree that being on the floor doing crunches isn't necessary to have a defined midsection.
