generic for Relafen before? And if so what side effects did you have, if any? I am trying to figure out my recent weight gain and one side effect of this medication is sudden weight gain. I tried to go a day without it yesterday and I just couldn't stand the pain in my heel so I took it again this morning:( . I go and see the foot doctor on the 12th and may ask to change to a different one without weight gain and liver problems as an adverse effect. I am already taking Niacin for my triglycerides and that messes with your liver also.:( So I would like to remain on an anti-inflammatory that doesn't do that.

Thanks :)

RE: Has anybody taken Nabumetone anti-inflammatory........

I'm on a 14 day course of Naproxen to knock out a persistant case of bursitis. Weight gain is a listed side effect, & I've gained an unwanted 3#'s in a week. Could just be water retention triggered by the Rx. Frankly I would be scared to take this for more than 2 weeks after reading the warnings & side effects.

The first round of the Rx knocked me on my ass w/ nausea. I spent much of Thanksgiving curled up in a ball. But the nausea is no longer debilitating.

Hope you find something that works.

I took Nabumeton for two years straight (got a whiplash). Gained 10 pounds but I had no idea it was the Nabumeton... Other side effects were certain foods didn't agree with my stomach any more, like beer, would make me really really sick within 15-20 minutes.

I am on Piroxisam now, with no side effects that I have noticed.

Didn't lose the weight though, I am still trying to loose the 10 pounds and have been for the past 11 months. No budging the scales though.

RE: Has anybody taken Nabumetone anti-inflammatory........

I am experiencing other side effects that we aren't sure are related to the medicine but they want me to go off of it for the weekend to see if the symptoms go away:( . I am not happy with this because I really need the medication to be able to walk. Please pray that by Sunday I will still be able to walk and not be in such pain.:( They told me to try Ibuprofen which I am allergic to, so they suggested tylenol. I may try just straight aspirin and see what that does. Thankfully I took it this morning so I will be able to grocery shop tonight but I am worried about the rest of the weekend since that one day I went off of it my heel was killing me.;(

Prayers accepted and coveted!!:D
