Hardcore Rotation Checkin for Thursday Sept 15

lorajc

Cathlete
Morning Everyone,

This morning my rotation called for a run and since I don't run, I did all of the aerobic parts of The Gauntlet modifying the jumping on the rebounder.

Oh My....this Rotation really does work your legs and your core. My legs felt heavy this morning. I also have been doing a LOT of core work. These are my problem areas....so hopefully I'll get some results this month. I also added a 2nd upper body workout each week with this rotation rather than only working my upper body once a week like Cathe had the rotation.

I didn't sleep well last night. My hubby and I just bought a house last night (as investment property ....It was a forclosure and we're fixing it up and selling it). Maybe I'm a little nervous, as this is our first time doing this. I really like the Realtor we found to start working with. She's a go getter. She's thinking about getting her license in Florida and selling properties down there also. She has a friend that's selling down there and they made $350,000 in commissions in one year. Can you imagine that?

Have great workouts everyone.

Good Morning,

After turning my alarm clock off this morning, I fell back to sleep for another 45 minutes! Ugh! My rotation was LowMax. I didn't have time for that. So, I decided to do Leaner Legs with very light weight. I just had so much to do this morning, this was just enough.

Lora, my husband has mentioned several times purchasing another house as an investment. Like a "fixer-upper". However, he travels so much that I (bold) just can't to it all. As it is I get 5 hours of sleep a night. Between working 4 full days and doing 99.5% of everything for the house (cleaning, bills, taxes, recycling, all errands, vehicle maintenances, most yard work, etc) I just cannot manage another house.

Dallas, When I've gone real heavy (for me) doing db pull overs my triceps will hurt worse than my lats or chest. Using a bb, I usually use a moderate weight and will feel it more in my lats and chest. I love pull overs! I can't wait to do them again.

I'm taking tomorrow off of exercising. I have two doctors' apts. and am not sure what to expect. I have some idea (one she said will be painful). I'm nervous about the first one and excited for the second (since its a detailed ultrasound).

Susan C.M.

Susan - Good luck with your appts tomorrow. Also, my hubby and I aren't actually doing all of the work on the place, we're hiring people. We've done some stuff though (mostly my husband, as he works 5:30 to 1:30 so he has time to do stuff after work.

Hi Ladies

Susan-good luck with your appointments.

Lora-I hope you sleep better tonight. We have thought about buying and fixing up a house too. Looking into adding onto ours right now though. Not sure if we will or not yet though. We have an estimate coming but I am afraid to see it since we have never added on before and I don't have a clue as to what it will cost.

Went to Bunko last night. It is always so fun! The food is not all that clean but it is only one night a month.

Wanted to talk the boys to the track to run tonight but I am not sure if the weather is going to cooperate (keeps sprinkling). Have to see what time DH gets home and maybe get a workout in at home. He is out of town again (every day this week so far) and he has a 2 1/2 hour drive one way. He has been late every night.

Have a great day! I will check in again later! :)

Hi Ladies,

Today is pyramid lower body and coremax on schedule. I will do some cardio as well. Probably run on thr treadmill.

Lora-How exciting for you to have purchased a investment property. My brother did the same thing but instead of seeling he rents it out for now. He is waiting to see what the market does before he sells.

Susan-I hope your doctors appt's go well and nothing is too painful or wrong.

Sabrina- Bunko is a game I have never played. How do you play it? Sounds like you enjoy it!

Ok I will check back later.

Hi to everyone else who follows:)

Terri

Sabrina - I never heard of Bunko in my life. LOL

Terri - Thanks for the positive statement about the investement. My Mom is acting all "funny" (not good funny) with me and my hubby about it. I think she's mad cuz my older sister might lose her house due to not being able to make the payments. The difference is....my sis is 2 years older and has 3 kids (divorced - kids are over 18). She has only worked part-time for as long as I can remember and she's trying to get on disability cuz she says she can't work due to neck pain (she has a herniated disc just like me). My hubby and I have both worked full-time (hard...I might add) since we were 18 years old!! Need I say more?

Let me see if I can explain Bunko.

There are 8 of us (all women). We have two tables, 4 at each. One is the head table with a bell and a hole puncher. You roll 3 dice and try to get a six. If you roll a six you roll again. It is the next persons turn when you do not roll a six. You have to keep track of how many sixes you roll each time it is your turn. The person sitting across the table from you is your partner and you add your points together. One person will keep score. The first team to roll 21 sixes wins and you ring the bell. The winning team stays at the head table and the losing team goes to the other table. At the other table you just keep rolling until the bell rings and which ever team has the highest score goes to the head table. You also have to switch partners. When you are at the head table you get a hole punched into your card. You can also roll 3 sixes which in called a Bunko and you keep track of how many of those you get and it also means you automatically win at the head table and get to stay. If you roll a 1 ,2 ,3 with the dice you and your partner lose all your points and have to start over. You also have to keep track of these on your card. We play for a certain amount of time (1 1/2 to 2 hours) and then we quit and add up how many punches (holes) are on your card, plus the 1,2,3's, and the Bunko's. We give out prizes for whomever has the most of each and also one to whomever has the least punches. You can only win one prize a night. If there is a tie each person rolls a dice and the highest number wins the prize. Since there are 8 of us we play 8 months of the year and take June, July, and August off. In December we all go out to eat and exchange gifts (we draw names at the beginning of the year). Also we each have a month we host. The host has all the food and buys the prizes. There is always tons of food. It is a lot of fun. We play the second Wednesday of the month. I forgot to mention that is you roll three 5's, for example, that is worth 15 6's. Three 4's is 12, three 1's is 3.

I hope that makes sense. It is REAL easy to play and everyone has a good time. Sorry about the long post. :)

ETA: The prizes are worth different amounts too.

1.most punches (the top prize)--$10 or around there
2.most Bunko's---$7
3.most 1,2,3's---$5
4.least punches--$2-$3 (booby prize)

Some go a little higher on their amounts.

Good afternoon
I slept in a little this morning. Slept quite a bit better and took advantage of it. My workout today was KM Bootcamp pre mix stop at the stretch, then KPC starting at the Intensity drills stopping at the end of the second combo, then MM Lower only no w/u, Bowflex 3 sets each of Curls, extensions, and calves, then S&H shoulders and stretch.

Lora good luck with your investment. My Dad did this a while back and made some good money on the house. He did all of the fix up work himself.

Sabrina I went to a Bunko party once. It was fun. I should try doing this with my family. When we all get together to play games we are limited because there are 11 adults here. We are getting together Friday and will play a new Cranium game my daughter just bought. She has the original one which we divide up into teams and play.

Susan good luck with your doctors appointment.

Hello to all of you :)
have a great day

Afternoon Ladies!

Haven't had time to sign on today. I did S&H biceps and triceps. That was the first time doing the real version opposed to doing the FitTV version. Wow, that was a good ab work out even though it was short. I wanted to get shoulders in today too, but ran out of time.
Tonight, I'm supposed to go out with some friends. Not sure right now though.

Susan ~ Good luck with your appointments. Keep us posted. Thanks for the tips on pullovers. I just never remember my triceps burning like that on that particular exercise.

Lora ~ My sister and her husband buy properties and rent them. They live in Florida. They do all the work themselves and work full time jobs. I don't know how they do it. I started working a part time job when I was 14 and have never not worked until I became a mom. I have a brother that frustrates me(I won't get into that!!), so I can understand how you're feeling.

Sabrina ~ The neighbors were always asking me to play bunko. Now I can tell them I know how! Thanks for the explanation! :) They might have given up on me. They started asking me right after I had little Luke. I was so sleep deprived and I was nursing, I couldn't imagine staying awake to play bunko at the time.

Terri ~ Looks like Charlotte gave you an easier day today, huh? ;-)

Diane Sue ~ That was some work out. How long did that take you?

Got to go read with my son before my dd bus gets here. Then we have soccer practice! Whew, I'm tired already. Maybe I won't be going out tonight! ha ha!

Hey Everyone:D

My sister is doing better!! YAY!!! Boy it has been a long road for her!! Looks like she is on the mend!! She just started to decrease her treatments to everyother day and is weaning of the steroids slowly!!

I got back tuesday and celebrated my ds bday, and I was going to post yesterday, but ended up spending the day at the childrens hospital. (Gosh when it rains it pours!)I met his new Dr. and ???????? My other Dr. was so layed back and the new Dr. appears to be very aggressive. I am just not sure? I can see both sides of the coin. I am making no judgements yet, but I just do not know what to think at this time.

Ok ladies tell me what workout you are all doing??? I have been doing NOTHING workout wise until last night. I did the new total sculpt. I added a where I wanted to extra. Like the squats and those areas I like to work ha ha. I feel some doms from those frog legs on the ball. Today I think I will do the circuit from the new dvd.

Just wanted to let you all know my workouts are paying off. My sister said yesterday when she was at her Drs. she said the Dr. commented on how toned and in shape I was (I liked hearing that)

Well gotta go!! Sorry so long

Take care,
~Nicole

P:S: Thanks again for all your support!! I really appreiate it!!:)

Just wanted to mention this. I hope I didn't offend anyone that doesn't work. I was only trying to get the point across that she needs to work and she doesn't because she chooses not to. I'm sure most of you stay-at-home Mom's have husbands that support your family. This is all I was saying is that this is why she's losing her house.

Nicole - welcome back. No problem about long posts. I'm the queen of them. It's good to have you back. I'm really sorry you have to go thru this difficult time!

Nicole!!! Welcome back! We've missed you! Don't worry about the long post. If Lora is the Queen of long posts than I'm (hmmm, what's higher than a Queen?)....! LOL! I know I have to shorten them up, but it's so nice chatting with you girls!

Glad to hear your sister is doing better! Congrats on the complement too! You work out hard and it shows! What a day to come back. The day of the big announcement!

Lora ~ Don't worry about what you said. I just empathize with you. My brother is a piece of work, like I said I don't want to ruin my good mood right now! I'm so happy about the new DVDs!!!!!! :7 :7 :7 :7 :D :D :D :D :D :) :) :) :) :)

So, who's preordering?

OK, I really have to make dinner now! LOL!

Dallas

~Nicole

Nicole so good to see you back, I am glad to see that your sister is doing better. It sounds like your family has a lot going on. There are the rough times and it forms a close family bond. We have been through many rough times and I can tell you our family grows closer through each. I have personally set myself up for a heavier weight workout because I had a month of mostly circuits and total body workouts. I am looking so forward to the new Cathe advanced workouts. I will preorder them soon. Isn't that wonderful that your results are showing to others. It is a great accomplishment. You are not long on your post. We want to know what is going on. I often think I am getting carried away on mine. I have long posts and I delete half of them.
