Hardcore Rotation Checkin for Sunday 9/25

Morning Everyone -
This morning my rotation called for a Power Walk and since I can't do that at 4:00 am, I did TurboJam CardioParty 2 followed by 200 walking lunges and TurboJam Abs. I kept my heartrate up very high during the cardio (see reason below).

While glancing thru that Jillian Michaels book, I noticed in the section on cardio, she states you need to get your heartrate up to 85%. I don't know if she meant keep it there, but when I did that on my heartrate monitor, it was very hard for me to keep it up that high constantly. I kept falling to 80-83% and during my blast segment, I almost had an asthma attack my heartrate went up so high. I wonder if she means to keep it that high?

Terri - I saw your post about the Jillian Michaels DVD and being interested in them. Just thought I'd mention.....when I said Jillian had an awesome body and it makes me want the workouts even more....it's not that I think I'm going to look like her from doing her workouts (I know better), but I meant she must really know her stuff if she looks like that! Anyway, she's a black belt also, so I think her Cardio Kickbox DVD should be good....especially if she thinks you need to keep your heartrate at 85%!! LOL

Have great workouts everyone. I'm off to do my Kundalini yoga routine and then my Lush soak with epsoms salts also and maybe I'll read my new Oxygen magazine.

Oh Lora I didn't meaan to imply that you or anyone would buy it to look like Jillian. I meant that for myself whe I said I do cathe but don't look like her. :) I agree Jillian looks awesome and that she must know her stuff. That is why I am interested in her dvd's too. I just want to make sure I buy them for the RIGHT reason for me. Thanks for the interesting detail from her book. I may still get that book. Anything else good in it yet?

Today I don't know which workouts I am going to do. Probably a run and lowerbody. Hope everyone is having a good wekend.

Terri

Hi ladies,

Went for a nice fast paced walk in the rain! LOL!

I have not had a chance to look at my book very close yet. I hope to maybe do that later since it is raining here (or maybe I will make some cookies). LOL! I did order Jillians workouts and I am anxious to see them. I hope I can find time this week when they come. I have to take the truck in tomorrow to have the dents taken out. I hope everything goes well. They told me it would take half a day to do. :-(

I will check in later!

Have a great day!

Oh wow Sabrina a half a day! I would for sure take a book or maybe go for a walk:) Lora and Sabrina please let us know how Jillians workouts are. I am trying to hold off but a part of me wants to go to the Barnes and noble and pick them up or target on tuesady:)

Suppose to rain here today as well. I hope it does as I gotthe book The Time Travelers Wife and I am so anxious to read it. I just finished 40 minutes of abwork and now I am going to do my cardio.

Terri

Hi,
Today is a rest day for me. i am also interested in Julian Michaels. I would bet, keep the heartrate up there. If you can keep it up there for a few minutes it helps strenghen your heart. You attain a better cardiovascular rate doing this. Push hard once in awhile and the rest seems easy.

Lora I would not push beyond where you are comfortable with your heartrate. We are all individual. Take your time. Some daycare children that I have had, had as many as 12 different meds to keep this where it should be. Be carefull! I have used the breathalyzer, and the peakflow. Inhalers with daycare children. It makes a difference but would still pay attention as an adult to how you feel.
The children are not as good at expressing how they feel.

Terri let me know how the Time Traveller book goes. I am eyeing this one.

Have a great day:)

Afternoon Ladies!

Yep, it's raining here too. So much for all my errands. I would still go if it were just me, but three kids, rain and errands. Nah! They find all the puddles! ha ha! I'm running from room to room straightening up, changing sheets, putting laundry away, etc. The kids are playing so nice, too. That makes it a lot easier.

I didn't get a work out in yesterday, so I'll consider that my early rest day. Two soccer games, groceries, and another b-day party yesterday. Today I did Imax Extreme and Core Max segment #2. I was so excited when my Terminator DVD showed up on Friday. I wanted to work out instead of going on a date night with dh! ha ha! We went out to dinner and saw Red Eye.

Lora ~ I know that you said you like that DVD a lot. Which is your favorite work out? I wished I had done the Gauntlet instead. Looks like there's more weight work in that one? Would it be too soon to try it out tomorrow? Or maybe I should wait until Tuesday?

Terri ~ I saw the pictures of your son. You must be so proud of him? Any news on his gf? Did someone recommend that book? I'm still trying to get through the Faulkner books. I'm almost done with the second one.

Diane Sue ~ Did you have family over today? My in-laws just got home from Texas. They already want us to come over to eat! I'm kind of in cleaning mode right now. I guess I better decide soon.

Nicole ~ I did several drawers this weekend. My oh my do we have the video collection. I'm going to drop them off at the Katrina shelter one town over.

OK, better keep my momentum up with this house! :) I'll try and check back later.

Dallas - The Gauntlet is my favorite off of that DVD. I also like to do the aerobic only sections of it to make a good aerobic workout.

Well ladies --- I stand corrected....regarding Jillian. She is not tall like I thought. It says in her book that she is "short & stocky". I guess you can't tell from the pictures! I thought she looked tall like me. Also, got to the part in the book that explains how you can see if you're in your weight range. She explains why she doesn't use the BMI chart (i.e. people can be large or small boned, muscular, etc). She uses the waist to hip ratio. I've never used this method. I've always looked at the BMI chart and was beginning to think I might have a body dysmorphic disorder, as I always think I'm slightly overweight and the charts always say I'm in my range. Turns out.....with the waist to hip ratio, I'm slightly overweight. Ideal for a woman is listed as 0.80 and I'm 0.82.

Dallas_Shelley recomended the book and it is not a slow read like Faulkner nor as hrad a read. It is great and I am so excited about it. I should have ordered the terminator dvd:( I didn'tthink about it. Dallas thanks for the comments onmy son. No word yet on his gf.

Lora-Thanks for giving us more details about the book!

Diane Sue-I think you will like the Time Travelers Wife. You may be relate to certain aspects of it right now with your husband away.

Terri

Hello Everyone,
Tonight I might do one of my step dvds? I have been tired since Friday so workout wise I have done nadda.:( I am feeling I really need some endorphins!!

Dallas way to go on those drawers. I worked on mine today. Hey the terminator is really a GOOD dvd. I really enjoy the gaunlet and when I really want to push my cardio Imax extreme is alot of FUN!!

Terri have you read the Time travelers wife?? I almost bought that a few weeks ago, but did'nt. Need to put it on hold at the library.

I have been getting some books on tape, and it has been working out great with my house cleaning/decluttering.:D I finished Danielle Steels "The Ghost" yesterday, and it really had me crying at the end!!

Well I gotta go. DD wants me to take her to Target NOW!!

~Nicole

Nicole ~ Do you really like those audio books? I've seen them, but I don't know if I could concentrate! I swear I have some form of adult attention disorder! :-( Everyone I tell says, "No, you're just a mom." Whatever it is, it drives me crazy! I have more post it notes on my calendar. See, that's why I need to follow that book...simplify my life, immediately!;-)

Lora ~ I meant to say that I'm jealous - soaking in the tub sounds so nice. We have one of those jacuzzi tubs and I took a bath once in it, but I had visitors. I forgot to lock the door and all of my kids got in with me! They sure had fun, but it wasn't too relaxing for me! Oh well, that's the way it goes!

Well, we're going for dinner. Enjoy your Sunday!
