Hardcore Rotation Checkin for Saturday Oct 1

Morning Everyone -

Today was my scheduled rest day, but I did TLP Dynamic Strength and Power. I guess you can't call that a recovery workout. It's a tough little 40 minute workout. I also did Stretch #3 on the Ball (new one).

I have to go to a 1 year old B-day party today and of course, I'll have to give into the cake temptation....thus the morning workout. I needed to at least burn the calories I'm going to consume later that I definitely don't need.

Have great workouts everyone or rest days if it's your rest day.

I'll check back later. We're doing the party today and then we're going to see a movie and out to dinner. I always get the Weight Watchers salad from Applebee's and a whole wheat quesidilla with low fat cheese and the lady always says I'm the only person that eats like these....go figure!!

I'm off to soak in my Lush tub. I have a Candy Kiss bath bomb....mmmm sweetness.

Terri - How did it go with the tooth? Did you have it taken out? I meant to mention to you. I recently had to have a tooth pulled, but mine was under a bridge, so it created all of these problems (thus the rash of recent dental appointments). Just to put your mind at ease, the tooth pulling was not the bad part. It is not that bad. You just bleed for a while afterwards and that sort of grossed me out a bit but I have a weak stomach and it made me nauseous. The pain is not bad though. I hope I didn't scare you, as I'm just trying to be honest.

Good Morning Everyone!

HI Lora ~ Sounds like you have a busy day today too. Oh my, a deer just walked by my office window. I usually see the smaller one's, but this one must have been the leader of the pack! Too bad my kids are sleeping. Sorry, that was too exciting for me. ha ha! I hear you on the PMS and eating junk. What is it with chocolate and PMS? I had to have some choc covered peanuts last night. I forgot how much junk they sell at those amusement park places. I was glad I ate right before we left.

Terri ~ Let us know how everything goes. You won't be awake when they pull your tooth? I remember when I had all four of my wisdom teeth pulled, I passed out when I got home. I was so light headed. Take it easy today, OK?

Diane Sue ~ It's always something, isn't it? You sound like my MIL, she takes the kids often for sleep overs. Now if she could be more like you with her work outs. ;-) She does have a couple of injuries right now. My FIL is like a drill sergeant to her. LOL! He just worries about her. Right now she work outs three days a week for an hour.

Nicole ~ I like my goodies too, but the guilt always gets me. I used to have so much more will power. I can't keep a lot of stuff here in the house. When I'm out I usually do better except if there's guacamole and chips then everybody better stand back! ha ha!

Marietta ~ My dh actually took an extra rest day. He didn't work out yesterday. OK, it must be really bad. There's hope!;-)

Today will be an early rest day. I'll get up early tomorrow to get a work out done.

Hi Susan and Sabrina!

Have a great day everyone!

Dallas

Dallas -
I thought that was you with the hubby that works out 2 hours a day. I find that amusing. Mine works out daily but only 45 minutes to 2 hours a day. He always tells me I should take a rest day and I go at it too hard, but he never takes one either. We both like to eat too much!

This leads me to this question....how many of us have a spouse or significant other that is into exercise like we are? I'm curious.

Just wanted to let you all know I am home from the surgical removal of the tooth. There was still infection in the bone but they did it anyway. They wanted to put me to sleep to do it but I have a hard time coming out of that so I told them NO. It wasn't an easy procedure for me or the dentist. It is however over with and for that I am happy. I am such a big baby! I have pain killers and a huge list of things to do and not do but I think tomorrow will be a much better day! Thanks for all your support and now I am going to go lay down.

Lora your post did not scare me and I appreciate you telling me about your experience.
Dallas-I feel very much lightheaded so I am being very careful as I live alone and would not want to pass out.

Enjoy your weekend ladies.

Terri

Hi everyone,

I didn't get a chance to check in yesterday, but I did IMAX2, plus Pure Strength, Chest, Shoulders and Triceps.

Today I did CTX Power Circuits, plus Pure Strength, Back and Biceps.

I'm working on this month’s rotation now, so I'll post it either tomorrow or Monday.

Terri, you'll feel so much better with that tooth gone in a few days!

Dallas, I can’t keep stuff in the house either. I don’t know why I don’t have any willpower either. I picked up some Newman's Own (love their products!) Ginger cookies yesterday. Oh my!! DONT GET THEM> They are soooo good. Of course my husband and son don’t like them. I'm too cheap to throw them away. Waste not want not, ya know...Yeah, I grew up Yankee.

Lora, My husband used to be a Professional body builder. He worked so hard and dieted so hard for many, many years, that now, he really doesn’t *have* to, to keep his muscle tone and low fat. He's now 44 years old, and doesn’t plan to do another show....but sometimes gets the "itch" to do another one.

Hi to everyone else. Have a great rest of the weekend.

Susan

Lora ~ Yes, my DH has always worked out intensely. In fact, we knew of each other from the gym, but didn't meet there. We went to the same college, too, but didn't meet there either. He used to ditch his classes so he could work out. I always gave him a hard time, that we might have met sooner if he would have been on campus more! ha ha! We, both, commuted to a small college. I like seeing the progress that college has made, it's grown quite a bit. Anyway, what's the saying, "You can't teach an old dog new tricks." He's not old, but you know what I mean. ;-)

Terri ~ Glad everything is OK and glad you're laying down.

Susan ~ I won't throw anything out either. Well, except for all the candy my kids keep getting from party bags. I just keep a few things and the rest goes in the garbage. I can't waste either, growing up was tough. We didn't have a whole lot, so I try not to waste. Maybe that's why I'm a bit of a pack rat myself. Have to conserve and be practical. Of course, now that I (we) can afford things I want the best for my kids. However, I want them to appreciate things, too. It's a double edged sword. Sorry, that was a way tangent.

The ice show was wonderful. It was about all the princesses. My boys, surprisingly, stayed engaged. Maybe it was the swords the grandparents bought them! :) Now I have to go get some work done. It's absolutely beautiful outside though. Have to enjoy the days when you can, you know? :)

Talk to you later.

Hi everyone
Two of my grandchildren stayed last night and then I watched two more today so their parents could do their Christmas shopping. It is hard to believe it is that time already. DH will be gone so we will do it with a webcam. Not the same. I was so tired this am. I think I got 3 hrs of sleep. It stormed all night and my grandson who has allergies was coughing a lot. I checked him with the peak flow and gave him medicine which alleviated it. I stayed up till 1, my fault trying to download a Gwen Stephanie song. It is the second time I purchased a song from music match and couldnt download it. I will try somewhere else. Today I did KPC and CM #3 followed by 50 sicilian crunches with a 25 lb dumbbell and 100 seated resisted crunches on the Bowflex.

Susan your rotation looks good. I was thinking of trying to incorporate PS in this next month. Along with some of my own stuff and the Bowflex. Similar to what I have been doing but just different workouts.

Lora my DH is more into running. We used to have a treadmill and he was pretty consistant with that. When our older two children were small he worked in a health club.

Dallas and Susan I cant keep certain things like chips or ice cream in the house because when I am alone or really hungry I will eat them. No willpower at all:) When my family brings them I try and send them home with them

Terri I am glad you got your ordeal with your tooth over. I know it is not fun.

Hi to everyone else
Have a great day

Diane Sue-What are sicillian crunches? I hope you can get some sleep tonight! Oh that is so sad DH will still be gone at Christmas time:( You are so strong and I think of you often.

Susan-Your rotation does look good. Ii cannever come up with one on my own. I usually do one of cathes or I have had charlotte and now Sarah help me.

Dallas-So glad your family is having such a good weekend. I am like you in that I always tried to give my son things I missed out on. As a single parent it wasn't always easy but he had a good childhood and experienced many things.

So the doc orders say no strenous excersise for 48 hours:( Not that today I am up for anything but i was sure hoping tomorrow I could:( Oh well I am just happy the worst part is over. I am having pain and I just took a pill so I am a bit dizzy and loopy right now. So back to couchmax I go.

I will try and discribe sicilian crunches. They are in the abs diet book as an advanced move. You anchor you feet under the handles of a pair of dumbbells, lie down with knees bent. Holding a dumbbell across your chest you raise your upper body as high as you can crunching your rib cage with your pelvis. At the top of this you extend your arms out straight in front of you raising the dumbbell in front of your head. Keep it their and hold for 4 seconds then lower body to starting position with dumbbell at chest again. I can really feel these the next day and that does not happen often.
