Hardcore Maniac Check in Nov 2,2008 Sunday

Good Morning, I had planned on maybe doing upper body this afternoon because I have a busy week this week. My lats and chest hurt from Thursday's total body workout. Legs and glutes are still sore this morning but better. I may just make it a rest day or do biceps and triceps.
BBL

Today was Back and Biceps. Didn't workout yesterday because I was up late Friday night and felt like crap yesterday morning. I really didn't feel like working out this morning either, I love having Sunday's off. But I made myself do it and at first I just didn't have the mind/muscle connection, but as the workout progressed it got better.

45 second rest between each set.

BACK
Chinups:
15/8/6/7 - Up from 14/8/5/5 last week

Barbell Rows:
105# - 4/4 (same as last week)
65# - 20/15 (same as last week)
***These just weren't happening. My mind was not into this exercise at all.

Decline Pullovers:
54# - 4/4/4 (up 3#)
35# - 20 (same as last week)
***Was suppose to do 2 sets of 4 and 2 sets of 20 but these really kill my triceps and tomorrow is triceps so I didn't want them to be sore.

BICEPS
Barbell Preacher Curls:
65# - 4/4 (Up 5#)
55# - 12 (same as last week)
45# - 20/20 (Up 5#)
***These killed me. My biceps were burning big time with the last 2 sets.

Hammer Curls w/Twist:
36's - 4/4 (up 1#)
20's - 20/20 (same as last week)
***Did the first twos sets using alternate curls and the last two sets doing them both at the same time.

Concentration Curls:
16's - 20/20 (up 1#)

My upper body was so pumped after this. I'm glad I pushed through.

That is all...

Good morning!

Looks like we're all working out on our rest day today. Since I took off last Thursday after giving blood I wanted to be sure to do something today so I did PlyometricsX. Since I never posted Friday's workout and didn't get on here yesterday, here goes:

Friday:

Leg Press on Bowflex Revolution 130# 15R 140# 15/15
Still not sure how this compares to "real" weight but I guess if I can do 15 reps I can heavy up - we need to get more weight b/c all I have left is a 40# weight for each side - I'm pretty excited I'm maxing out the Bowflex Revolution!

Calf Press 130# 15R 140# 15/15

Bulgarian Split Squats 40# 15R 50# 12/12

Leg Extentions on Bowflex Revolution 90# 8/8/8

Dead Rows 50# 15R 60# 12/15

Later at work I did some squats with that funky bar that you step into. DH said they have one at his gym at the PD and it weighs 45 pounds. Wimpy for squats, but oh well. I did 3 sets of 15 reps. He said it takes universal weights so not sure why that woman couldn't find weights for it. Oh brother!

Saturday:

DH and I went for a 20 mile ride. I have been off the bike for 6 weeks now, resting my knee. Amazingly I had one of the fastest rides of my entire season! My average was 18.5mph! I honestly wanted to hurl while I was out there but I told DH I wanted a hard ride and I wasn't about to complain about how fast we were going. It was all I could do to keep up with him. I thought I was going to have a heart attack! I've been working my @ss off on the elliptical and I guess it's been paying off. And the best news of all is that my knee didn't hurt one bit. Funny thing is...it hurts when I walk off and on but didn't bother me one bit on the bike. I'm going to stay off the bike now until January until I start training for next season, as I think resting it has been the trick. I'm SO excited!

I'm off to church. Great workouts you guys, even for days off. :)

Hey all - Happy Sunday! I'm not feeling all that chili red hot today (as one of my dear friends would say) so we'll see for today. It feels like I'm fighting something off, and since DD was sick last week, who knows.

Diane Sue - I think it is awesome that you want to build more muscle even though you already look super hot!

Suz - the bike ride sounds like so much fun! Great speed too. Do you know anything about the Kurt Kinetic Rock and Roll Trainer? I found these online and am thinking...hmmmm, I may really like one of those! Currently, I use the Cycleops Fluid 2.

Debbie - great, as always! As I read what you ladies do, it sort of makes me think about trying my own routine one day rather than follow a DVD all the time. When I went to the gym all the time, I never even considered doing something set out for me - it was freestyle all the way. Do you have the vertical leg press? I'm considering the PowerTec compact leg sled for next year. I miss the ability to load up the weights and use just my legs. I understand the value of squats, and enjoy them, but I also want to focus solely on legs too.

If I get it together today, it will be leg day for me.

Hey all...this hasn't been the greatest week for workouts. Yesterday I didnt' get anything in. Today was Push Pull upper body 2X premix, and then the abs from Tracey's Sculpt Sweatfest. Have a good rest of the Sunday! yay for the extra hour today!
