Morning Fit Ladies -

This morning I did P90X Cardio X and Ab Ripper 100 from P90. My rotation called for Yoga X today, but I think I'll do that over the weekend or my own version of yoga (as I always do on the weekends). I kept moving when Tony took breaks and I really made this an intense workout since it's so short. I listened to my own music Buckcherry & Nickelback.

I have been running around like a maniac this morning. I'm still "off" and can't seem to get it together enough again this morning to get ready for work. I'm running late.....didn't have time to read everything from yesterday, as work was very busy ...getting my boss ready to leave. She left me a TON of stuff to do. I doubt if I'll even be able to get it all done!

Well, I don't think I'll be pushing myself to do all of those pushups in Core Synegestics again (since I'm not really allowed). When I had my injections last night, the doctor said that she was having a lot of resistance from my muscles and having a hard time getting the needle in cuz I was so spasmed. She could have injected at least 30 spots on me and had a hard time picking which 10 to do since I was in such bad shape. She asked what was going on with me. Of course, I didn't tell her about the pushups. She wants me to come in for more shots 2 weeks apart, but there is no way my boss will let me go for an appt. twice a month, so I can't do it. I guess I just need to face the fact that I can't do that many pushups on the floor (which is weird cuz they don't feel that hard when I'm doing them) and not beat myself up for it and feel like a wimp. I hate having to deal with this injury. It's very frustrating cuz I know I'll never be able to lift as heavy as I would like to either. I have to be careful how much I even put on my shoulders for squats. Okay....I'm done venting now.

Susan - I believe you asked if the injections were for pain relief and the answer is yes, they are supposed to be. I just get my some of my trigger points injected with Marcaine (just a numbing agent), but the pain from all of the injections lasts for about a week, so I usually am in more pain for up to a week after with the needle site pain and all of the other spasms that weren't able to get injected.

Diana Sue - Do you think it's okay to do Back and Legs tomorrow and Shoulders and arms on Saturday? This is the only way I can fit everything in this week. I know that some secondary muscles come into play with back so I wasn't sure. Thanks.

Hi all!

This morning was Rhythmic Step Combos 1 & 2 and then the Rhythmic Challenge. I really love RS, especially the 2nd combo. Tonite is my hill climb race. It will depend on whether we get a lot of smoke this afternoon or not whether it is held.

Last night, I put on the Gilad weight tape and had my DH do it instead of the Bowflex. It kicked his butt, especially the ab work. He's so stubborn, I'd suggest going down in weight on the dumbbells but he'd continue anyway, though his form was bad, just to keep up with Gilad. I didn't say too much as I know when to keep my mouth shut. Hopefully, it was an eye opener for him. It was much harder for him than working out on the Bowflex at his own pace. I was surprised that he did the stretches with Gilad. Something about another guy telling him is different. He's not up yet, but I'm curious if he's a bit sore this morning.

Have to concentrate on getting ready to go camping tomorrow.

Lora, hope the injections don't bother you too much. Personally, if it were me and I was going to the trouble to get off work for appointments, spending money (co-pays or whatever), have painful injections, I'd do what the doctor said re: upper body work. Just me. Otherwise, how can you tell they are helping or not? Hope you are enjoying your rotation. I am feeling leaner on this rotation I'm on and I'm REALLY enjoying it. Next week I get to do S&H. It's been a while since I've done it but I really liked it.

Good Morning Maniacs!!!

Yesterday I worked triceps earlier in the day then I did chest/back/abs in the evening. Children were gone so I cranked up my music really loud...even the dogs didn't want to be in the room with me! LOL! I listened to Nickelback and had "Animals" on repeat about 5 times! LOL! Thanks, Lora!!!!!

Today I am working legs, but not sure what workout yet to do. Suggestions???? I have alot of different things to do today to get ready for DD's graduation party with family. A few weeks ago she had one with friends.

How many pushups did the workout call for? I can only do 25 now nonstop. I would listen to Netta too. If your doctor thinks you need these injections then your boss should not have a problem with this. I would think all you need to do is bring in a doctor's note for the #^%$#@!!!! I would really like to try that ab ripper workout. It is just a matter of time before I breakdown and order that P90X. My brother already has it. My sister does not workout though.

Well, my dh had a horrible time sleeping again last night, he kept waking me up every hour. Finally at 3 a.m. I went downstairs and slept on the couch which really wasn't fun for me, but at least I got about two hours of constant sleep. I woke up a bit late but still had a great workout.

This morning I did Slow & Heavy Back and Tri's. For the back work I did the double arm rows using 20 lb dumbbells but doing it on my bench using the seat as an incline. I'm glad I have no boobs, that would have hurt if I did! It helped with my low back a lot and I got such an excellent burn with this because I could isolate my muscles so well. I did pull-overs using 30 lbs. for 2 sets and 25 for the 3rd set. Instead of deadlifts I did bent over barbell rows with 45 lbs. and then did the supermans.

For tri's I used 25 lb dumbbell for the overhead extensions - first time I was able to use 25 lbs. for all three sets. I used 12's for the lying extensions and by this time my tri's were fried! I had to go with 5's for kickbacks and only did one set of dips. My tri's were just done by the time I got to the dips.

I finished up with abs. I'm really loving my bench, I'm so glad I got it!

Netta - Let us know how your dh feels...your dh sounds alot like mine...you can't tell them anything!!

Toasty - Sounds like you had the ultimate atmosphere for working out...I love when that happens!!

Debbie - Sorry about your dh and your sleep. Hope he starts to get better soon. Glad you are enjoying your bench. I've always used my bench for Cathe workouts...nice to have that incline option.

Hi everyone,

Well I had PLB all set last night, to do this morning….. and instead of hitting snooze on the alarm clock I hit OFF!!!!!! WHY!! Why on LEG day??? x(
I’m trying to back to six hours of sleep, but I keep getting close to eight! Darn it.
Now, I’ll have to workout when I get home in a 90 degree room.
Anyway, enough of my rant. Hahahahaha

Lora, in a way I can understand your frustration with not being able to lift as heavy as you’d like. My right wrist hurts when I do tricep bench presses. I can do 40 pounds, but by the second set, I either cant do it, or have to drop the weight by a lot. So, I usually use 30 pounds for both sets.

Charlotte, for a quick leg w/o I like the HSTA lower body premix.

Opps, I’m getting called away… I’ll be back in a little bit.

Today calls for ctx kickbox but I am going to add a turbo jam to it. Also need to do 300 walking lunges. Dallas, I like the few TJ workouts I have. I like to add them to other workouts. I also like powerstrike and will add to them as well.

Good morning!

Well, this morning I did NOTHING b/c I had that test where I had to drink the barium and I couldn't have any food or water after midnight. I thought I could have water and had set my alarm so I could ride from 5-6, but something told me to get up and check that card and sure enough, no water. Darn! I think I'll do an easy spin ride tonight and then tomorrow morning my girlfriend and I are planning on riding 30 before my lung function test. That should open my lungs up! And the gal this morning didn't see any acid reflux of any kind (I could have told them that!). She said it doesn't mean I don't have it going into my lungs, but she couldn't see it. I know she's right. Yay!!! So I guess we wait on the other tests and are back to the asthma thing. I'm still not hungry after drinking all that barium. But you know what - if you drink protein shakes a lot, the consistency of the barium is nothing. As long as you don't smell it b/c it has that chemical smell and something about that stuff sitting in my stomach grosses me out. I've had a TON of water this morning and plan to drink lots and lots all day long to flush me out.

Lora - I agree with Netta. Listen to your doctor. You're defeating the purpose of the shots. As for being gone, my assistant has an average of 2 doctor appointments a week! She's always gone. But she has the sick time or else she makes up the time, so what can I say? If she feels she needs to go, then who am I to stop her?

Netta - good luck on your hill ride tonight. I hope the smoke goes away. Are your legs all rested up?

Charlotte - I would think your dogs would like the song Animals! :p

Debbie - Awesome workout - and on no sleep! You go girl!

Marietta - I hope you have a great class tonight!

Susan - Sorry you missed your workout this morning. I really prefer morning workouts. So tonight we can feel each other's pain. :)

Debbie, great w/o this morning. I can do one arm rows with 20's but not at the same time at the slow pace in SH. I can only use them in the GS.

Terri, I'm glad you're keeping up with your workouts during this difficult time.

Suz, boy, sounds like you're going through a lot with your lungs. I cant believe you drank Barium! Oh my!! I thought that was a toxic heavy metal that came from the earth. I dont blame you wanting to flush it out of your system.

Marietta, we posted at the same time this morning. Have a great class tonight. Do you make up all the choreography or do you take bits and pieces from w/o's you own?

Dallas, We had a really good trip out to my parents. DS is having so much fun that he doesnt want to spend time on the phone with us.

So, what's everone doing this weekend? Do you all have to work Monday? I do.

Yesterday I did TJ kick,punch and jam for about 22 min. and then got out CTX and did 10-10-10. Today I plan on doing a circuit of some kind?

Netta I think that is GREAT you can get your dh to work out to dvds!! Hope he is feeling doms today }(

Anyone get Fitness RX for Women? Jennifer Nicole Lee is on the cover. She's so pretty. I remember her being on the Oxygen Fat Loss issue. Talk about transformations!

Last night I did Cardio Kicks and then added on KPC (low impact...37 minutes) and cool down. Today, I did PS Back and biceps followed by BBBB. I have kind of let the June rotation fall by the wayside this week. :-( I think my knees will thank me! ;-) As for the BBBB, I'm still figuring out what I can use to do the towel moves? Everything sticks to my puzzlemat flooring. x(

Must get to the laundry room now....:-(

This mornings workout was Straight Up Step again, then Amy Bento's A Team Boot camp cardio segments each done twice and the lower segments, Push Pull inner outer thighs 2X with 5# ankle weights and calves with a 25# dumbbell, Turbo Jam Lower Body Jam I used heavier weights on this and used weights on the bridgework. I did better on SUS today at least the bench top stayed on:)

Lora, I would do those workouts on consecutive days myself. In your case though you might want to lower the weights on shoulders. All of those pulldowns(pull ups) hit the shoulders to some extent as well. See how you feel on Saturday if you are sore in the shoulders maybe you should omit those segments and just do arms. You already hit them some in Core Synergistics.

Charlotte, P90X relies heavily on push ups for chest work. Lots!!!
A lot of the sets I hit between 20 and 35. Some I had to modify like the one arm ones. On the chest workouts there is a variety of pushup styles. Core Synergistics has a lot as well as the other strength workouts. Great workouts though. For a shorter effective lower workout I like to do SS Lower Blast or MM Lower only going as heavy as I can.

Debbie, I hope your dh gets where he can sleep better. After more than one night of with lack of sleep my workouts become less intense and I have to push to get them done.

Marietta, I bet it is fun figuring out workout plans for your class. Have a fun evening.

Terri, I like using the Turbo Jams as add ons too.

Suz, I hope they can figure out something with the lung function tesr. I take Nexium for acid reflux. It works well. Glad that came out ok for you.

Susan, I don't do well on 6 hours of sleep. When I do that I end up ready to drop by mid afternoon. Maybe your body just needs more sleep.

Wow, I'm feeling it in my back already. Every muscle in my back is hurting! Woo hoo!

Dallas - I got an issue of Fitness RX once and didn't care for it. Not sure why, maybe because of the cartoons that they use. Maybe I'll check it out again. I'm always looking for a good fitness magazine, but something about that one turned me off.

Just thought I'd check in one more time for the day.

I just finished my class....I did a class along the format of C&W. I like to make up my own combos...so when I get a chance I just get on my step and see what I can come up with. Or, I may dream of something and then I have to get up and write it down.

Terri - I hope you have a good weekend....just keep busy, busy, busy!!!

Nicole - the only way I think I would watch baseball is if one of my children were playing. Or if KC ever made it to the World Series...NOT!!!

Suz - Well sorry you couldn't get in that bike ride but since you couldn't have water it was the best choice. Glad you are dealing with the gross after effects of barium...sounds yummy...NOT!!

Susan - Sometimes I do my own and sometimes I use whatever I can think of....you never, ever know what I'm gonna do. I really don't have big plans for the weekend and unfortunately I have to work Monday...bummer! I'm off tomorrow though...

Dallas - you are not alone...I didn't stick with the June rotation either. But I told you I have "Rotation ADD" right now. Oh, I don't have a subscription to Fitness RX but will pick it up from time to time. Sometimes it's good...sometimes not.

Diane Sue - Have a great time this weekend...sounds like you are gonna have soooo much fun!
