Hardcore Fitness Maniacs Sun 8/5/07

How's come the workout you dread the most turns out to be your best workout? LOL! Today was leg day and even after being in pain for 5 days last week, I put myself through a similar torture as last Sunday. Hopefully, though, I won't be as sore or at least for not as long.

Legs
Elevated Squats (warmup):
65#/15 reps
85#/12 reps

Elevated Squats (working sets):
105#/8 reps
110#/8 reps
110#/8 reps
***Notes: Ever try these? I use to do these way back in the early 90's and loved them. They feel more natural this way to me. I put two 10# plates on the floor and put my heels up on them. Gives me great rom and targets the glutes a bit more.

Bulgarian Split Squats:
70# - 3 sets/10 reps
***Notes: These are just freakin' burners! I have a love/hate relationship with these damn things!

Elevated SLDL:
70# - 3 sets/10 reps
***Notes: This is the heaviest since my injury. When I injured myself I was doing SLDL's at 190#. I'm WAY far away from that and doubt I'll ever get that high again.

Leg Extensions:
90#/10 reps
95# - 2 sets/10 reps

Calf Raises:
110# - 3 sets/25 reps
***Notes: Right calf was burning big time. Stretched them out really good when I was done.

I love this setup, it flows nicely when I'm doing it.

Diane Sue - I want a motorcycle so bad. My mom said she'd kill me if I got one, though. :( Have fun!

Ok, Deb, way to go...

Got my 1st official w/o in. I feel like i have never worked out.
Did B&G Standing leg pre mix. Tried abs. Need to wait a couple weeks, and did 2 miles on the treadmill..
I am taking it slow. I still have suitures, but they said i could.

I am whipped. It is like i have never done this before.. Geez.
My legs were really shaking.
Think i finally figured out the low pulse lunges. I felt them today. Never felt them before..
Guess surg takes alot out of ya.. Think i was like this last time for bout 2 weeks.
We will survive..

Diane Sue, Enjoy the ride..

Good afternoon!

DH & I were going to ride later but his cycling buddy called to ride this morning and wanted me to go to (the one who manages our local bike shop). Well, they are waaaaaaaaaay too fast for me but he said he rode hard yesterday and just wanted to go easy today. Easy for them is just not easy. :) Plus it's windy. I mistakenly let the 2 of them talk and I ended up going on the ride. It started out super hard as DH and I rode to meet him, got easy when we first met up with him, then got super hard. We rode with him home then had to ride over to DH's mom's rental to meet her new renters (and their MOST ADORABLE pit bull - yup, she rented to them with a pit bull b/c of our pit bulls). They reminded us of us when we were first married. Young, adorable :p couple with our first dog, cat and first rental house. Anyway, then we rode home. It was 35 miles.

Diane Sue – Thanks for starting us off every day while Lora's gone. I hope you enjoy your motorcycle ride.

Dallys – Way to switch up CC#4. :)

Debbie – What are SLDL’s? 190#’s sounds outrageous!!! No wonder you got injured. Great workout today.

Storm – Welcome back to workout land. I bet it feels great! Thanks for the compliment. :)

We’re supposed to go get ice cream later at Culvers with our friends (the guy we rode with this morning and his wife). I shouldn’t because it’s not my cheat day, but I think I might have to have a root beer float. I’ll be extra good all day today. And I DID ride really hard this morning. ;)

Hi Everyone. I am a chronic check in lurker.......and I read this one alot. You guys are amazing!! I have a question for fitnessfreak. Where did you get your power tower? How hard was it to assemble? Thank you !!

I got my Power Tower at Dunham's. It was the floor model so I paid a cheap price for it, I think $69.99. I assembled it myself so it wasn't that hard to do.
