Hardcore Fitness Maniacs June 2026

Yesterday I did Lauren Cardio and Weight Training Intervals, 33 minutes, 208 calories, HR 129/15 followed y Low Impact Cardio Dance Part, 17 minutes, 116 calories, heart rate 133/162. I ended with Stretching Exercises when everything hurts plus some other stretches, 34 minutes, 97 calories. 84 minutes total time, 418 calories.
My ankle and heel has been hurting. I have no idea why. It is a bit better today.
Today I did Lauren Cardio Tabata, 34 minutes, 234 calories, HR 138/165 and Standing Active Recovery 13 minutes, 49 calories. Total time 47 minutes, 283 calories.

Jolie, I am sorry you have so much that you are dealing with. I am sure your mother appreciates what you are doing for her. Storage sounds like a good idea. I will say it is hard to let go of things that were part of your life for so many years. Hopefully she realizes that she does not need all of that stuff. When we sold our house we got rid of many things. Things that we knew our children would not want even though they were things important to us. It made us sad. Downsizing, we do not need the extra stuff. We sold big furniture pieces and office furniture through a consignment place that picked up the stuff and sold it. Saved us moving it. Hopefully we find a home of our own soon. Even though it is family there are adjustments. I know you can make it work.

Belinda, good job on M2 W1 D16 CST. and Pilates yesterday and today's Zoom Dance. We will find a house although the right priced ones that are move in ready of close to go fast. I saw one this weekend and new it would be pending soon as the first day it had over 600 views. It was closer to my daughter and looked really nice with a 2 car garage and 2 baths.

Hi,

Diane - good job on Lauren Cardio and Weight Training Intervals+ Low Impact Cardio Dance + Stretching Exercises. Sorry your ankle and heel has been hurting. I hope you find a nice house soon. I heard it’s a seller’s market, even in my town.

Happy Hump Day.

Today I started a workout from a PT with weights, but only did the squats and sumo squats 2 sets of each and quit because it had an ad after each set. I don't think I could tolerate 45 minutes of ads! forgot to start my Garmin. So I did Lauren Full Body Isometric Strength Knee Friendly, using heavier weights than the 5# she used, 25 minutes, 103 calories. I then did a 15 minute Arm?? Strength workout + a 15 minute Ab Stretch modifying 33 minutes for both, 124 calories. Again I went heavier for most moves since she was using 8#. Total time today was 58 minutes, 227 calories. I need to get out my external drive and do some Cathe workouts that I have on it. Youtube drives me nuts. My daughter pays for Youtube, but my devices do not pick up on it. I guess you have to log into their Youtube like we do when we watch their television.

Belinda, good job on STS M2 D17 legs plus Pilates. Where we are at is a growing community and loads of high dollar homes going up all over.

Hi,

Today I did 2 hours dancing. We are almost done with the intermediate choreography.

Diane - great job on your workouts. I hear you on YT driving you nuts. I rather pay for streaming than putting up with all the ads, it drives me nuts. That makes sense if your community is a growing and new one. Makes it harder on you.

Roselyn - nicely done.

What are your plans for 4th of July?

Have a great evening.

Yesterday I did Lauren Upper Body using 10 and 12# dumbbell. She uses a 10#, 26 minutes, 97 calories, and Stretch 32 minutes, 99 calories from CDorner Fitness.
Today I did Lauren Dance and Cardio Kickboxing 28 minutes, 213 calories. I redid part of it because I forgot to start my Garmin. It is supposed to be 24 minutes so I went over. I also did a 10 minute stretch altering all of the rounding the back moves, 24 calories. My knee hurts so I skipped doing another lower body workout this week.

Belinda, I am glad that you enjoy the belly dancing so much. I used to have some video workouts for belly dancing, but gave up on them.

Today I did STS W2 D18 Back/biceps plus I did Friday’s dance workout. So fun.

Diane -Great job on your Upper Body and Stretch from CDorner Fitness.

Evening,

Today I did STS M2 W3 D20 CST plus Pilates zoom class with the band. I am trying to finished STS M2 Week 3 before we leave for Carolina on Thursday. My suitcase is almost packed.

Have a wonderful evening.

Hello everyone! I am back and back to working out. My husband and I went to upper Michigan on Mackinac Island and stayed there all week. It was awesome and the weather, although a bit chilly, was perfect. Had we waited one more week, we would be in hot and humid weather right now.

We walked 13 miles (30,000 steps) the first day, 8 miles the second and 10 miles the last day we were there. It was awesome but I had major shin splints and my hips were killing me. My shins hurt so bad I could hardly walk. They are fine now that I have been resting, but wow, was that painful. We certainly got our exercise in but we ate a lot, too. The food was awesome!! We love it there.

Anyways, this morning I did STS Meso 1, Disc One - Chest, Shoulders and Biceps. I figure it would be good to start back with this so I can go with light weights until I get back into it. I haven't worked out seriously in 2 months. It felt great but I am not looking forward to being sore. Like Jolie said some time back, it is nice not being in pain all the time. I skipped a lot of the pushups, but did some of them as well. I did chest press in place of one of the chest fly exercises.

Workout was 55 minutes, burned 236 calories, and HR was 100/142.

You are all getting in some great workouts, I've been keeping up with you all since I've been gone. I made soap this morning and I have a good collection made up. Hopefully soon I will release my website. I am also going to sell at a friend of mine's arts and craft shop. She will take me on consignment.

Sorry so long, hope you all have a wonderful day! It is getting HOT here!!

Hi everyone. I have been only walking lately but getting a ton of steps in each day. I am going on vacation to the Sierra Nevada Mountains on July 8th through the 12th for a little R and R before I pick my mom up from Skilled Nursing. I want to start lifting again and tying it in with cardio. I need to do a lot of cardio to help with the stress in my life. I think using my Max Trainer along with weights will do the trick. Have any of you ever done The Firm workouts from the 1990's? This and the Jane Fonda workouts are becoming the rage again but I cannot remember if I liked them or not. I see there are a bunch on YouTube so I think I will check them out. They say if you lift heavier than the people in the workout, you can get a killer workout. I am dying to try something new, but I also seem to go back to Cathe. Remember those Ripped workouts by the lean lady that was blonde? Those were tuff stuff if I remember correctly. I could do Yvette Bachman but just use a lower riser and not such heavy weights too.

Great job on the workouts the past few weeks everyone!

Debbie, I am glad you had a good vacation!

What is everyone doing for the 4th of July? I am going for a beach walk and then out to lunch at a restaurant at the beach. Nothing fancy...

Have a great day. I got in 2 miles of walking this morning and I will do another 2 miles this afternoon.

Hi,

STS M2 D 20 Legs is done + 10 min Pilates stretch all standing.

Debbie - glad you had a relaxed vacation. Great job on your walks. That’s a lot of walking. Good luck with your release of your website. Keep us posted.

I don’t know if you guys heard it, Cathe’s RT got canceled today. Not sure what that means for the forum or the future for Cathe. I wish her all the best and hope she can turn things around. Very sad to read this on FB today :(

Jolie - I know a lot of people like the Firm workouts. I got some DVD’s, can’t get myself to do them. I heard the older Firms are good, not the Pink.

Diane - how are you doing?

I will be out of town, going to Carolina for 4th of July with DD and her soon to be husband.

Have a great Monday everyone.

Today I did Lauren Knee Friendly Strength 19 minutes, 64 calories and Strength Standing Band workout on the osteoporosis friendly list, 31 minutes, 124 calories. Total time 50 minutes, 188 calories.
I rested yesterday because both knees and my hip on one side were bothering me.

Belinda, good job on STS M2 W3 D20 CST + Pilates zoom class with the band and today's STS M2 D 20 Legs + 10 min Pilates stretch all standing. I keep hoping the meds kick in. My back is feeling better, but I am not sure what is going on with the knees and my hip the last few days. I am starting to dread climbing up the stairs to get things. At first I thought it was good exercise. I reach the stairs goal and most of the time steps even when I am not exercising since being here.

Debbie, great job on STS Meso 1, Disc One - Chest, Shoulders and Biceps. Your vacation sounds like a nice one. Wow on the steps the first day. I often wonder if we push too far and not enough recovery is why we end up in so much intermittent pain.

Jolie, good job on getting in a lot of walking. I used to do the Firm workouts. I had all of the main start up video tapes. As they started changing instructors from the first 3 I started not liking them as much. I through the tapes away a long time ago. I had a friend send me the first Firm workout on dvd and I laughed at the clothing. It was kind of silly really. I think a favorite was Janet Jones Gretsky. I think the second one. Sometimes you can find those in a library. I checked out some Tracy Long dvds that she done on her own later. They were pretty light workouts.

Hi,

Today I did 2 zoom dances.I will do Pilates shortly. I didn’t sleep well last night.

Diane - sorry your hip and knee are bordering you. Those infusions can take up to 3 months. Maybe take a break for your hip and knees. Going up stairs are tough for me especially if my knees are hurting. Can you avoid going up stairs? Great job on Lauren Knee Friendly Strength and Strength Standing Band workout.

Have a great day and workout, everyone.

Roselyn, good job on leg day.

We will be having a 4th of July friends and family day with swimming lunch and dinner with snacks and some fireworks depending on weather and how dry things are. My daughter does it every year. My brother is coming to visit from Florida. It will be fun.

Belinda, nice work on the zoom dance classes and pilates. I know it takes time for the meds to start working. There is no way to not climb stairs or hills. The house is on a hill. We stay downstairs but are still up hill. Upstairs is where the kitchen is. I have even carried lots of package deliveries from the gate up the hill to the kitchen area. Today they had Trugreen out and they drive a large tractor devices spreading stuff on the grass. He drove it down to the gate and hauled my 30# bag of dog food from Chewy up the hill for me. That was really nice. I asked my daughter if she had a wagon around or something so it would be easier to haul grocery deliveries and stuff up the hill. She has a dolly with a large crate on it that should help.
