Hardcore Fitness Maniacs January 2026!

Good Afternoon,

Spent 9 hours yesterday sitting on bleachers watching two boys play basketball so today since my butt already hurt I did a recovery ride on my spin bike 7.2 miles.

This morning I did Iron 6 - Legs and had a great workout. She does a lot of lower body workouts, not sure I'll be able to do all of them through this 6 weeks. My knees are killing me. All her lunges and bulgarian split lunges are killer on my knees. I do what I can and use light weights. I hope she changes up the exercises in the coming workouts. Anyways, this is what I did:

60 seconds each exercise with 30 seconds rest

Close Stance Lunge: 15's - 2 sets
Elevated Heel Squats: 35# barbell - 3 sets
Slow Eccentric Heel Elevated Squats: 35# barbell
Slow Eccentric Bulgarian Lunge: 12's - 2 sets each side
Slow Lower Bulgarian Lunge: 12# - 1 set
Close Stance Bulgarian Lunge: 12# - 1 set (I did Single Leg Squats)
Body Weight 1/2 rep Bulgarian Lunges: - BW - 1 set
Goblet Squats: 20# - 2 sets

Finisher 60/30/60 no rest
Body weight Heel Elevated Squats - Full Range
Same but a constant HOLD at the bottom
Same but back to Full Range

Did a warmup with one of Kelly's workouts

Total workout was 40 minutes, burned 174 calories, HR was 99/135.

Great job on your workouts this past weekend everyone!! Have a great day!

Hi,

I will do STS 2 Trisets TB once my house warms up. Too cold to workout.

We had the HVAC system company come out, we need a brand new heat/air/water system. We will come out on Monday and install everything. Our old system we had our old one for 20 years. Last few years we having lots of problems. We decided to get a brand new system installed. Tired of freezing my butt off or in the summer sweating to death. He did something so we could use the pellet stove in the basement to heat up the entire house. He shut off the old system. I will go to Home Depot and buy enough pellets to last us through Monday. The company is local, they will bring in a crew to work outside, on in the attic and one in the basement installing a new heater. He said they will get everything done on Monday.

I will be back later.

Gotta make this quick, really busy again today.

This morning I did Cardio Coach #3 on my Max Trainer. For some reason this was REALLY hard for me today. My legs would not stop burning. I had to stop once to let them relax a bit. I think I need to start stretching my quads more, they just felt really tight. I don't like that burning feeling at all.

Workout was 43 minutes, burned 269 calories, did 2108 steps and HR was 115/146.

My brother got a Max Trainer the other day and he loves it so far. He got one for $300 on Market Place.

Have a great day everyone!!

We got annihilated with snow last night and it is still coming down. We got 6" when we woke up and are supposed to get like 4-6 more. I had a banquet scheduled for this evening and I'm trying to get it rescheduled but the caterer and venue hasn't called me back. Ridiculous.

Diane - Why are you guys selling your house? I thought you recently moved in there? Will you be staying in the same area? Good job on your workout yesterday!! Hope you had fun with your ladies group.

Roselyn - So how do the Play workouts go? Is she still doing the 60/30 thing or is it a different format? I'm really loving the Iron series.

Belinda - Yes, he was, I was shocked. It needed some parts, though - like the incline wasn't working right. He had to purchase something to get it to work, but now it's like new. Good job on your workout!

Jolie - Where are you?

I'm working from home today. Hope you all have a great day!!

Hi,

I saw the surgeon and I got the results from the MRI. My hip joint isn’t dying. I do have a tear in my hip. He wants to try with shots first, it that doesn’t work with the pain he will order more images for my back.He thinks all the pain can come either from my hip or back. I am starting physical therapy the end of this month for my shoulder and hip. I also have an appointment for my shoulder/biceps. No matter what I do, it will not get any better. I am getting frustrated.

The heating company got us 2 heaters to stay warm until they come on Monday.

I did live zoom dance this morning plus Pilates mobility for the hip.

Debbie - glad your brother found one. Great job with your leg workout this morning.

Diane - why are you selling? Good luck with everything. Great job with your workout.

Have a great day and workout.

Today I did I Max 4 46 minutes, 293 calories, 3,898 steps. I finished off with Senior Shape osteo friendly standing mobility stretch, 10 minutes, 45 calories. I was going to do the I Max chair stretch, but when Cathe was rounding her back, I decided to change.
We are moving because my husband is going to retire and we want to downsize and not have so much to keep up.

This morning I did Iron 9 - Full Body. Holy crap does she work legs a lot in this series. I'm not a fan of all the leg work. I am so sore from all of it I have already done this week. But I'm sure this will tone up my legs good so there is that. I also find she hardly does any bicep work which is weird because her arms are huge. So I replace one of the leg moves with bicep work.

I did her warmup that she references in the workout so now it's in my Youtube history so I can find it fast. Pretty good warmup.

45/15 and 30/30 for the Staple move

Bent Over Rows: 20's - 2 sets
Staple: Squat to Press: 12's

High Squats: 20's - 2 sets
Staple: Squat to Press: 12's

Chest Press: 25's - 2 sets
Staple: Squat to Press: 12's

Static Lunge: 15's - 1 set each side
Staple: Squat to Press: 12's

Static Lunge: 15's - 1 set each side
Staple: Squat to Press: 12's

Single Arm Shoulder Press: 12# - 1 set each side
Staple: Squat to Press: 12's

Single Arm Shoulder Press: 12# - 1 set each side
Staple: Squat to Press: 12's

Lateral Lunge (I did Hammer/Twist Curls): 15's - 2 sets
Staple: Squat to Press: 12's

Lateral Lunge (I did regular Curls): 12's - 2 sets
Staple: Squat to Press: 12's

FINISHER - 30/30/30
1/2 Rep Squats: 12's
Push Press: 12's
Squat to Press: 12's

Killer workout, damn. The Staple exercise was hard after a while, I stopped at roughly 6 to 8 reps.

Workout was 38 minutes, burned 214 calories and HR was 110/134.

Diane - I certainly get the downsizing. I hope you find something you LOVE! Great job with IMAX 4! Holy crap! Those workouts have a definite fear factor for me.

Roselyn - How much is Caroline's subscription? Can you pay monthly or is it a yearly charge? Sounds like a fun series you are doing.

Belinda - I'm sorry to hear you have a tear in your hip, hopefully the shots will help. I wonder what is going on with your shoulder and bicep? That is totally weird.

Have a great day everyone! And a great weekend. I'm off on Monday and my DH and I are planning on breakfast and an ice festival near our home. So I probably won't workout on Monday. Which is fine with me, I am so sore!!!

Belinda, I am so sorry things keep happening to you. I hope they can help you with this. You really do deserve a break somewhere. That is good they got you some heat. I am sure you will be happy when that is done. I feel so bad for you and know how frustrating it can be when you are trying to do everything right and the body is fighting against you.

Debbie, I Max 4 isn't too bad. It is supposed to be low impact. Although Cathe manages to make it tough at times. I altered the down to the step but butt kick blast. You are getting in some tough workouts. I do not like the cold. We have had little precipitation here and fire warnings.

Roselyn, nice work on the Play workout.

Hi,

I am not moving, but I am getting rid of stuff like Diane, things I don’t use anymore. Things I never wear.Today I cleaned out 2 dressers, went through my closet (still need to get rid of more). Filled up an entire huge bag of clothes I will donate to the homeless shelter. Went through my linen closet too. Than I did Pilates Stand Tall with a broomstick = 40 min.

I am done for today. I am tired.

Debbie - thank you for your kind words. I hope the shot will help. I will only get one. After what he told me last week what could happened with all the steroids I will be a little carful. My shoulder/biceps/tricpes I am at a lost. It’s been over 2 years I am dealing with it the same problem. I can’t keep injecting steroids. I had enough already. I really don’t want to push my luck.

Diane - thank you for your kind words. Yes, I need a break from all of this. I read the MRI report. I have a partial tear in my hamstring and hip. If the shot in the hip doesn’t help, he will investigate further in my hip. Whatever that means? LOL! I am almost willing to bet….I have a tear in my shoulder. I just don’t get it anymore? It was so cold here in WV, those heaters didn’t keep us warm. No matter what we did. I am so glad when they install the heater on Monday. I needed an electric heater in the bedroom last night too. I couldn’t get warm. My body is going through some crazy stuff, it sure if fighting me on every front. How are you doing these day’s?

I am off to the shower.

Sorry I was MIA all week, but I have been under a lot of pressure with my parents and just had to clear my head. I did not lift a weight all week until today, I needed to walk outside till I could not walk any further. This really helps me to relieve stress, and it felt good to get fresh air and vitamin D from the sun. It has been 75 degrees or warmer the whole week! I walked a lot and my legs slimmed down too! However, I need to stop stress eating otherwise I will gain all of the weight back that I lost last year. I am up 6 pounds!

Monday- 9 miles of walking just for my workout, not for the day.
Tuesday- 8 miles
Wed- 8.6 miles
Thursday- 4 miles
Friday-6 miles
Saturday- Rest Day
Sunday- Cathe Live #208 Glassboro Road Trip (I had a great workout)

All of these walks are through very steep hills; I get the uphill and the downhill workout. I cannot believe that my little pup and do the whole walk and not be too tired, he runs around the whole darn day! I kind of tweaked my low back carrying a workout bench upstairs to my bedroom this morning, I should know better than to do it myself. However, no one was up this morning to help me, and I wanted to get my workout done early this morning.

Great job on the workouts this week everyone!

Debbie, great job on the Caroline Girvan workouts, you are killing it. I kind of am loosing my desire to lift weights lately, not sure what is going on with me, probably all the stress from my parents. My mom got Covid this week in the nursing home, I cannot believe something else to deal with. She is coming home soon, she is really doing well. My day however might not live that long due to his age and the cancer issue. What a mess! I hope your back feels better soon.

Diane Sue, good luck with the move, that is a lot of hard work! I hope you like your new place and does it have space for a gym room?

Belinda, good luck with your hip issue, I know that is so annoying when you cannot get to the bottom of the issue.

Roselyn, great job with the workouts! I am glad that your mammogram turned out fine!

Have a wonderful Sunday. I will be walking again this week just for stress purposes.
