Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for week of 6/17

Today I did Cardio Coach #2 revised and had a great workout. I don't do that one often, but when I do I end up really having a good time with it. I ran like a mofo today.

CARDIO STATS:
40 minutes total
7 minutes below zone
11 minutes in zone
25 minutes below zone
350 calories burned
2.25 miles traveled

This morning I did les Mills Combat 60 live, 54 min, 524 min, then I did the squat challenge adding extra reps for 220 reps, 11 min using a 35 lb barbell. I. Finished with 8 min using some balance pods 54 cal . Total time was 72 min, 679 cal

Today I did High Reps and had a pretty decent workout. I'm still very cautious of how I'm working out and how much weight I'm lifting. As soon as I feel my shoulder area start getting tight I stop. I only had to stop a couple times so I guess I'm doing ok. We'll see how I feel later on tonight or tomorrow. I like this workout, it's fun.

Today I did X Train biceps and triceps and then the squat challenge 190 reps. I finished off with Les Mills Combat Core Attack. I have been busy with grandchildren so not a lot of time to get on the computer to post. We are off to the lake tomorrow for a picnic. My 5 year old granddaughter is excited.

Diane Sue - How are the Xtrain workouts? I'd like to get them but worried about lifting 3 days a week. Are these high rep workouts or heavy weight workouts?

I chose to do a stretch workout today because my muscles are so tight after that workout from yesterday. No pain, though, so that is a good thing!

I did Karen Voight's Yoga Strength workout. It's only 30 minutes but it was perfect for today.

I'm getting her new stretch workout hopefully soon, I ordered it on Monday, it looks like a good one:

Karen Voight's Stretch and Core Conditioning

I should have done a little more but had a headache (TTOM) and just wanted to get in and get it done. So that's what I did. I'll run like a fool tomorrow. :D

Roselyn - Where are you? Is she on vacation?

This morning I did X Train Cardio Leg Blast Extreme mix that adds on rounds 7-12. 77 min, 607 calories. That is all I had time for.

Debbie, I like X Train. Cathe uses dumbbells in these workouts along with tubing and the firewalker band. You can go pretty heavy on upper body. I go heavier than Cathe on lower but the leg workout on Cardio Blast seems a little better to me if I use the weight only mix than the just leg workout. I really like the Burn sets and it is nicely set up so you can do only one or two body parts at a time if you want. Most of burn sets is 13-15 minutes a body part. I have found lots of ways to use these workouts. Oh, and I think that Roselyn posted on last weeks check in once. She is still here.

Today I did cardio and chose Run Fit. Had a pretty good workout but my HR was way up there today. Not sure why? It's been about two weeks since I've done this workout, but still. Not sure why I couldn't keep my HR down. Ran like a fool, like a fool!

:D

CARDIO STATS:
55 minutes total
6 minutes below zone
14 minutes in zone
35 minutes above zone
475 calories burned
3.25 miles traveled

Diane Sue - Thanks for the info. I'll have to think about it. I can't go real heavy and not sure I'll ever be able to go real heavy anymore. Those workouts look good, though.

This morning I did X train chest, back, shoulders, 51 min, 225 calories. I then did the squat challenge 8 min,190 reps, 51 calories. I finished with the Addiction Heavy bag workout #1 56 min, 419 calories. Total workout time was 1 hr 55 min and calories burned was 695. My legs have been sore since I came home and went back to the barbell for the squats.

Debbie, Cathe does go pretty heavy in the upper on X train. Today she was using 30's for some of the work. But there are some areas where she is using 5's, 8's and 10's that are tough. The reps are not low, 16 reps for most but some are 24. I would have to go back and look over Burn Sets weights. Also the Super Cuts is not real heavy. Lower on these seems pretty light to me.

No workout today. TTOM and I'm not feeling really good. Headache, cramps, etc. Just didn't have the energy to do anything.

It's finally getting warm here. It's suppose to hit 83 today, that's a heat wave compared to what it's been here. Yesterday was beautiful, though. 76 degrees, low humidity. That is how summer should be all summer long!

Diane Sue - I doubt I could do the burn sets. Any type of high reps bothers my shoulder. I probably should just suck it up and get it xrayed or something. Just to see if something is misaligned or tore. I had unusual soreness in my left top shoulder area after my weight work on Tuesday. I wanted to lift again today but thought maybe I shouldn't just in case.

I did Sharon Twombly's Zero to Sixty , 68 min, 516 cal.., squat challenge 222 reps 35# barbell, 13 min, 85 cal.., and P90X2 Core skipping the warm up and stopping midway after the holmsen screamer lunge, 19 min, 113 calories. Total time was 1hr 40 min and calories burned 714.

Debbie, there are lots of premixes so maybe you could just ski[p the shoulder stuff and do what works for you in that area. Super Cuts is total body but there are premixes and the second half is not as shoulder heavy as the first. I have had to work around shoulders and traps so I kknow it can be difficult. Burn Sets is has premixes where you can pick single upper body parts to work. Burn sets is in the 10 rep range.

Today I did Supercuts + Core 2, 58 min, 343 cal.. I then did Jari Love's Extremely Ripped and Chiseled upperbody adding the crouching squats from lower, 44 min, 248 cal.. I finished with the squat challenge 228 reps, 13 min, 106 calories, 35# barbell. Total time was 1 hr 55 min, calories, 697. I will be out of town for the next two days. No workout then.

Debbie, supercuts is 5 and 8 lb dumbbells with some body weight work and some medium tubing.
