Afternoon Ladies - great workouts to everyone.

Randi, you look fabulous!

Lora - i have not ordered the tapes yet. I have been having fun with the Rotations Debbie sent me and they are quite challenging. I am gearing up for vacation, so I may look into those DVDs when I get back. Please let me know what you think of them.

Debbie - I am going to start your rotation when I get back from vacation - it is the 10 lb of muscle gain one and I think I only have the first week or so. When you have time, please send me the rest of it. You are lifting amazing weight. I agree you should post more pictures.

Linda - you are doing awesome!

I feel stupid not posting, but today is rest day for me. I did the boot camp class last night and did not get as good of a workout as I planned. I am going to hit it hard again tomorrow.

Opinions please - here is the situation ( I apologize for this being long).

I became a certified personal trainer last year through ACE. I do work full time and have a demanding job and like to keep on top of my own fitness, so I have limited clients. I train 3 people currently once a week. I am hoping to reduce hours at my day job and take on more clients.

About a month ago, I saw and ad for a Boot Camp that a lady here in town teaches. I emailed her and she said she was interested in meeting me. We met and she said she was looking for someone to sub for her in some of her evening classes. I have been attending the classes and last week subbed for her when her daughter was ill.

She has been very non-committal and almost non-communicative regarding exactly what she is looking for. So last week, I just asked - what is your vision for my involvement here? She stated she wants someone to sub for her and possibly add a class on an additional evening. She indicated what the pay rates would be and they are very small - but I thought it would be fun and get me "out there" a bit and meeting new people. Then she said that she would want me to commit to not teaching a boot camp style of class and that I could not approach any of the students in the class for one on one sessions (which is what I like). So I could do this sub thing and make about $40 one evening a week or I could try to get more of my own clients on that evening and make more. it sort of seems like a no brainer to me however, I feel like I may be missing some positive side to all of this.
 
Lora - I saw your reply to my questions last night. Those people you work for are definitely freaks! I think it would be stressful to have to remember to take my uniform! Where do you live? I read you said it was really depressed there. Last year, when my job became quite unbearable is when I decided to study for a certification - something to distract me. Thanks for the instructions on the kyakers.

Also, how normal could we expect rectal surgeons to be?
 
Ally - I'll be anxious to hear what you think of the Action Hero Workout if you try it. Actually, the surgeon I work for is super compassionate and a very kind gentleman. He was my father's doctor back in 1977 when my father had rectal cancer, had experimental surgery, died on the table undergoing surgery and came back and then died. Anyway, it's his wife that is the problem. She is the office manager and a Gastroenteroligcal Surgical Nurse freakozoid! Now......I'm a freak also......takes one to know one I guess!! LOL! That place is totally Hellacious! I had the worst day today and came really close to going "off" on her and her little Pet. I ended up saying some stuff and I think she knew where I was coming from!! Ugh.....work sucks! I live in Youngstown, Ohio (smack dab between Cleveland and Pittsburgh). It took me 1 year to find this job I'm at looking diligently and when I got hired here....I was working at Walgreen's in Cosmetics cuz I couldn't find anything! We actually keep our uniforms at work and wash and dry them there. We are not allowed to wear them out of the office. Office manager is a germophobe also.

Deb - I'm sending the rest of the money. I also wanted to know when the current Mark catalog stuff goes in with those Hook Up kits and how much is one of those Hook Up kits? I might want them. thanks.
 
O.k., here is my workout for today. Was working on limited time, but managed to get in everything I wanted to do. I turned this workout into more of a circuit workout and had no time to rest.

Leg Ext 85# (went up from 80#) 2 sets/12 then dropped weight to 80# and finished another 12x's.
**went on elliptical for 2 mins inbetween sets**
Barbell Squats 160# (went up 10#) 2 sets of 12 then dropped to 155# and finished another 12x's.
**went on elliptical for 2 mins inbetween sets**
ATG Squats 110# 3 sets/12 (last time only did 3 sets/10)
**went on elliptical for 2 mins inbetween sets**
BURNED 100 cals in 20 mins and traveled over 1 mi

PLYO's:

Jump Squats with 15# db's 3 sets/12
Jumped off stepper 3 sets/12

Finished off with deadlifts 120# (dropped down weight from 130 to 120 so I could easily finished off 3 sets/12 as last time I struggled too much and could not do 3 sets/12)

Did not work calves as I figured plyo's was enough. Worked my abs for approx 30 mins prior to this workout, and did so on my own..various moves.
 
Here's my workout. Debbie I copied right from you I hope you don't mind!?!

Shoulders
Lateral Raise:
15# - 12/12/12/12
Couldn't go any higher these were good.

Arnold Press:
20# - 10/12/10
Very very hard!

Shoulder Press Machine:
25# - 10
37.5# - 10/12
These look like the weight was heavy, not really though since it was a machine. Felt good all the same though.

Leaning Lateral Raises:
10# - 10/10
These were tough so just did 2 sets!

Lying REar Lateral Raise:
37.5# - 12/12/12
Used the Pec/Rear Delt Machine
These felt really good!

Didn't do traps.

I did do my abs with my dd, she called them the "dirty dozen". Let me tell ya she put me through a tough ab work out and some added shoulders with it.

Ally - While it might be fun to teach the bootcamp class I think your ultimate goal is to grow your business. So skip the subbing and keep attending the class as a participant and make your contacts that way. Gain clients from the group by making friends and with casual small talk. If ya know what I mean?
