Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Wed Oct 24

Deb- I hear ya, I've eaten so much chicken that I can hardly gut it lately. Dh cooked a small turkey breast and I just threw it in the freezer because I couldn't eat it. How low in carbs are you looking for? Maybe something with cottage cheese might work for your mid afternoon meal? Do you have Berardi's free dessert e-book? It looks like it has some sweet stuff that's pretty low in carbs and high in protein.

Here is a link to the dessert e-book.

You guys are a bunch of comedians today. :) Lovin' all the food chatter too.

I woke up with a sore throat and it's killing me. Well, that's a little on the dramatic side. It's been getting worse all day. You know how I brag that I never get sick? Well, I ate junk the whole time I was on vacation so that's what I get. And then they stopped making that ColdMD that I preached about for so long. Now they have these rapid tabs only. I knew I didn't like them for a reason. They don't work! I've been trying to fight this thing off for a couple of days. I can't get sick. I NEVER get sick. I don't have TIME to be sick! I can't even call in sick tomorrow because I have a big meeting in the morning. Sheesh! See, I'm even whiny. ;(

Been busy all day. Had another interview at Target which was a waste of time and I already interviewed with them a month ago.........then I had to go grocery shopping. I called Walgreen's cuz I really thought I was getting that job and that she liked me and she just got busy....and I did get the job. I will only be working 3-4 days a week and she will try to work it into 5, but max hours are 35. I don't know how I'm going to do working at night......yikes....and weekeneds. This will be a huge adjustment for me. I will be working in one of the higher classed subburbs and the store is only allowed to stay open 'till 10 pm ....as the Village sets the rules...even around X-mas...so at least I won't have to stay until midnight.

You think my DH would be happy....but no.....he picks a huge fight with me and tells me he's leaving me..yada yada yada....and goes off about every little thing. I'm supposed to have a job interview at the grocery store for cashier tomorrow and I don't know if I should go....as I'm not sure I should be learning 2 jobs at once and juggling hours......and if Walgreen's gives me 35 hours.....that's good enough for me......but not if the DH leaves me..........he's such a pain in my you know what. I don't know why he can't ever be grateful for anything.

I'm done going off now.............thanks for letting me vent. I ended up eating some candy today cuz of my DH going off on me. I can't stand all of the yelling...it stresses me and makes me reach for sugar. I feel fat.

I have to go for a drug test tomorrow for Walgreen's and find a pair of black pants that fit my fat A@#!!!

Oh.........and my foot x-ray shows my foot is 99%......so I'm allowed to start resuming my normal activities....but no more than 3 high impact days a week unless I want another stress fracture...per the doctor.

Dallys - You're funny. NOT! :) I found the old kind of ColdMD at Walgreens (Lora's new employer - yay!) and it was $27.99 - used to be $19 something at Wal-Mart BUT it was on sale for $9.99 and I got the last one. I feel better already. Of course that's probably because I took ibuprofen for my sore throat since I didn't have any lozenges. Told you I was being a baby. But I can't believe how much better it feels. Or maybe it's the 100 dosages of Airborne and ColdMD rapid tabs I've done today. :) We'll see after the ibuprofen wears off. I'm just a little druggie, aren't I? :p

Lora - CONGRATS on the job! You keep such crazy hours that you'll do fine. And look at Miss Toasty with her hours. She does great. I've heard Walgreen's is a great employer. I don't understand why your DH isn't happy for you. Maybe he secretly wants you to stay at home? Heck, I wouldn't mind that! :) That's great news about your foot too. Now be sure to follow the doctor's orders.

Thought I would check and see what everyone was doing:)

Dallys I went to Target awhile ago and checked out the regular Clif bars. They are larger than the kids ones. I just bought some peanut butter ones since we have been eating the brownie ones. Peanut butter has more fat but less carbs. The brownie one is 120 calories, 22 grams carbs, 3 fat, 3 pro, 125 sodium. It is nice that they do not have trans fats or High fructose corn syrup.

Lora, that is great that you got that job. The Walgreens I go to all of the time seems to keep their employees. So it would be my guess that it is a good place to work. I am sorry your dh is not happy. Have you asked what he wants? A job is better than no job. Maybe Suz is onto something and he likes you at home. You are good with your hours. You can work around it.

Penney, you did a great job on the weights and your diet looks great.

Penney - You rocked your diet today. And your workout! Keep up the good work. :)

I'm watching Fox News and the fire coverage (I know - shocker) and the Governator is there and Geraldo just talked with him and as he was leaving he came back to make sure that Geraldo saw that even the animals were getting along - big dogs with little dogs. He said "This is the real test". I'm glad that's important to him in addition to how important it is to him that all of the evacuees are taken care of. He's trying to make sure that everybody has what they need at the facility he's visiting. He seems very compassionate. I can't believe they've found at least a couple of them to be arson. How sad.
